I bought a FARMMAC F380 with a 28" bar, first it has some real compression, the first time I pulled the starter rope it jerked the handle right out of my hand. LOL Replaced that handle with the D handle ,Works better, and still have to sit it on the floor and put my foot i9n the saw handle to hold it down when I pull. Next ,with that 28" bar and chain it is quite a bit heavier than my 16" saws. I will be using this one only for the bigger logs,,anything the 16" saws have a hard time with..

Was looking for a saw to replace my ms390 that has gotten undependable after a cylinder replacement, my ms290 has done great for at least 10 yrs but It bogs down in big rounds. I ordered a F380 off Amazon Monday anxiously awaiting it arrival. Thanks for helping me make up my mind, had planned to get a new ms391 glad I saw your review!

Got it for $315 with 24" bar and chain. Got a message from Farmmac that there will be 2 separate shipments one will arrive tomorrow, Thursday The other by next Thursday. Hope the sawhead comes first the ms390 will be short a 20" bar and chain for sure 🤗

That's a killer price with bar and chain. Run it a little rich for the first few tanks. Most of the time, they come pretty rich! I would also run 32:1 or 40:1 tell break in! Then, whatever you like to mix! 😁 I run 40:1 most of the time! And 32:1 in My Milling Saws

Thanks for the break in tips. I'm located in central VA. Dad ran a timber company until his death in 91 he had a group of Homelite saws I kept for yrs. The f380 will be used for personal firewood. This will be my first use of a 24" bar, 20" bars have been my bar of choice. I tried a friends ms250 with a 18" bar recently 😉 not for me. Hope to share the arrival soon

Major…really like your channel! After watching your review of the Farmmac F380W I purchased one. I use this saw for cutting down/chainsaw milling oak, red cedar and standing dead ash trees on my property. So far I really like this saw. I have to mention one minor con about this saw, the air filter cover is misaligned about 3/8” to the left. I contacted the seller to get a replacement cover and received this reply…”F380W is cloned Stihl 038, so air filter cover misaligned, that is a special design. This design will not affect the use of the device”. What kind of BS answer is this. I believe in a review you indicated a similar problem and received a replacement cover. Who did you contact for replacement cover?

Yeah the one I got the covers are so out of wack its not even funny. The instruction manual is absolutely harious though....if you know, you know.

@Michael Schlosser hey 👋 have you spoken to Neo-tec about the issue? Seems like there was a Bach of the saws that come out with the holes drilled in the case wrong for the top covers! If you contact them, they would like to help correct the problem... the comment you saw from the other gentleman was resolved to his satisfaction after we spoke to Neo-tec about the wider spread problem! @@majorpixchannel7146 Yeah I'll try reaching out. An oem stihl is $13 on Amazon and has to be a sturdier plastic. Same time the carbon wrapping was bubbled/wrinkled out of the box so they should fix it. Either way I am still blown away at the over all quality and power of this saw. Oh yeah and then the price....$330 shipped with a 25" upgraded bar. The thing I hate trigger response and the type of plastic its made out of 🤢🤮🤮. My suspicion is there might be some corners cut in regard to quality in the trigger system.

I run my saws rich during break in as well. Tend to run them a bit rich even after, more so while milling. Rich = more lubrication lower rpm and a cooler engine temp.

Thanks for watching sir! So Stihl recommends 12.5 k .... With having said that lol mine is heavily ported (I should do a video on that) and my go to saw out of about 75 saw collection lol mine runs at about 16k lol Now of course I don't run this saw all day at this rpm. It probably runs 2 to 3 hours at most. This saw is truly my favorite saw... And can out run a stock 660 both with 20in bars! Stay safe good sir! 💯😎👍

Part number on the dogs? I’ve talked to wsc and they say they don’t have anything for me

So the dogs for the 060 fit most of the 0 series. 030, 380, 044, 440, 046,460 ext. The only difference is the roller on the bottom doesn't fit. There is 1mm difference between the inside dog and the clutch cover. Can't tell just by looking at it or running the saw. Not sure of the part number... However it the same as the 660. Most of these dogs will even fit the 311, 390, 310, 290 and many more

You absolutely can run an 18. I run a 20in most of the time. Yes... turn both low and high jet in all the way. Turn out one full turn. Start it up. Cut a few inches into a log. Put the screw driver into the high jet with the bar in the log (safer this way) and turn the high jet in small amounts tell you.like the power of the saw!!!

@Stonercowboy69 yes sir... lol it takes some getting use to! Loads of Compression. So this saw is a clone of the stihl 038 magnum. They didn't come with decomp plugs the the 380

So the 380 has the walbro carb and upgraded crank and ignition system! The 380w has the hilic carb and standard parts! Both are supper nice saws! Iv ran both for extensive amounts of time, and they do wonderful!

Thanks alot. Just ordered a saw and was wondering what the carb replacement options were if I don’t like the Hilic. Looks like the different 038 models used either Bing, Zama,Tillotson and Walbro which make it all a bit confusing.

@@shannonwhitaker9630 correct 💯, depends on the year and model who Stihl was getting their carbs from. The hilic tunes well and holds up nice! I run about 10 saws regularly (daily) with the hilic! And out of a few hundred saws through my shop iv only seen a couple that needed switched out! Good odds for a Chinese carb! Thanks for watching
