Your camping trip with your daughter brought back happy memories of camping with my four children many years ago. I am now 86 years old and bedridden on hospice care. Such sweet memories of those long ago days! My children are all deceased now but one and she is my caregiver. Thank you Dutch for blessing me tonight and I pray 🙏 you and your family have many camping trips in your future. Hope is a big help to her dad. God bless you and your sweet family.

I’m so sorry all but one of your children have gone before you. I don’t think anyone should ever have to live through that kind of grief, thank God that your daughter is able to care for you during this last chapter of your life. Remind her of all the wonderful times you spent together it will help her once you are gone to reflect on the good times spent together. My father is 83 and in good health although my mother passed away two years ago I know he misses her dearly. I want to be his caretaker but he doesn’t want that so I try to respect his wishes and help when he allows it. I cry every time I have to leave him because I know how lonely he must be living by himself. My heart goes out to him but he’s doing it all on his own and I know mom spent a lot of time talking with him about this time and how he would be by himself. It’s hard though not to be there for him because he’s been such an amazing support in my life. I’m sure you have been for your daughter as well and I hope you are able to tell her how much you’ve loved her and how you’ve enjoyed knowing her as a person. God bless you and I pray you aren’t in any pain. 🥰❤️🇨🇦🍁🙏🏻

Hopey is Daddy’s ‘One Gal Wonder’! She is such good help and a quick learn! Making memories Dutch which will be near and dear to her heart the rest of her life. Our dad made us tents out of his Navy blankets, in our back yard. Mother packed us goodies to eat during the night. We were never in harm’s way…we were right outside their bedroom window. I was the one that always made up goast stories. I remember Dad peeking in the tint when things got quiet, to see if we were okay. We were poor and didn’t even know it. Six of us kids and lots of love in that old house. Precious memories❤

Dutch, be careful when changing the wicks to the Coleman lantern. They are made from ASBESTOS and should be changed using gloves and the kids don't need to be that near to it. Be careful. I was a fully qualified ASBESTOS worker. Wet a paper towel to remove the old wick! Wash your hands after dealing with them. Looks like you had a great time. ❤

lol! My dad(God rest his soul) was a big game outfitter/hunting guide in the Rocky Mountains. We used a couple of big canvas tents on guided hunts. One was the kitchen/dining tent. The other (s) was the sleeping or dormitory tent. You need to realize that it was constantly below zero temperatures and there was large amounts of snow on the ground. Those stoves kept us “comfortable “ (if you can all it that, but no one ever complained) for those hunts. I couldn’t imagine staying in a tent with one of those tents in the southern US. Our tents were a very heavy canvas (they had to be to hold up against the snow, ice and wind). We slept on army cots with a sleeping bag (sometimes you needed a blanket wrapped around your head). I miss those trips. Dressed big game, elk, moose, bear, mtn goat, etc all hung in a tree. At those temperatures you needn’t worry about the meat. You certainly brought back some great memories. My dad has been gone about 5 years now, and I’ll be 65 years old next month. What a truly blessed way of life. I’m so glad that my generation wasn’t the last to experience this. Watching you and the girls always leaves me smiling. Y’all have a truly blessed day!

This is a fantastic camping experience. I used to keep a small tote in my truckbox with paper napkins, grilling tools, paper plates, solo cups, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, pladtic utensils, and everything i would neef to start a campfire. Called it my portable camping and picknic kit. I also kept either a small charcoal or propane grill as part of the kit. I was always ready for a Spontaneous picnics and camping trips. Super cool video and an awesome experience for y'all, that's the good stuff in life! Those old school white gas lanters can be a pain, they sure make you appreciate the propane version. The mantles are the most delicate part. It works good to shape them by hand, get them all even and perfect all the way around and globe shaped as much as you can and then lastly, light them with a match with no gas or nothing, just let them burn to ash, then put it back together gently. Fun fact, those mantles are actually RADIOACTIVE, it's how they are treated so they glow so much. Wash your hands good when your done. Looks like y'all really had a good time. Next time get the whole fam!

It was about 5 cows … evidently we parked on their trail. You picked a beautiful spot.. with the creek sound close by.. just hope no rain comes. Hope is very adventurous, always the first one to step up to the challenge with dad by her side. She will remember these days forever. I’m not too sure about the stove inside .. but the food looks delish! What fun!!

Guys,,, never poke holes in your steaks. Just season and rub it in. Let sit to ambient temp. Poking holes loses all your internal juices. Just sear on each side to maintain the juices. Then cook to desired preference. You'll have a much juicer steak.. I wouldn't lead you wrong. I've been cooking and grilling for 60+ years. In the Military at night I would cook steaks for my Fire Watch Crew while others were in their bunks. Of coarse we had to buy our own. Army didn't supply them. Once word was out, soldiers were volunteering for Fire Watch Duty.. LOL..

I have to admit I haven't watched the channels much in a while. A lot of the channels turned into showing off the next expensive toy or whatever. I really enjoyed watching this video though. The way you included your kiddo and showed her kindness. It was a simple tent camping experience, learning on some things as you go. This was a great video. Could watch this kind of content everyday and can't say enough how I respect the way you set the bar high for that young lady. Showing her how a man should always treat her. I don't usually even comment on videos that often but you guys made my night with such good content.

@@countitalljoy2023 I don't blame you for crashing. That food did look absolutely amazing. Even the monkey bread. That made the meal what I call perfectly imperfect. You may know already, but on the Coleman lantern there is a cloth like washer on the pump. As old as that is, you have to replace it. They do dry out over time. I have one that belong to my dad. I had to replace it. I bought 2 or 3 of the parts a few years ago. Never know when they become unavailable. Also they make a little fan to sit on the stove. It runs off of the heat from the stove, if you don't know.

I have camped in several states, but the coolest place I ever camped was in the mountains outside Cimarron, New Mexico, at Philmont Scout Ranch. When I was a kid, very long time ago, my uncle would take me hunting. A couple of years we were invited to join some friends of his to hunt in the Cookson Hills! They had what was called an officer’s field tent. Have no idea if it really was?? It had a large door on all four sides and was a very large tent. They would back their trucks up to the doors to block any wind. This kinda reminded me of that!!

I would recommend that the next time you set up the tent you put a tarp under it to protect it from the rocks or any other items that could penetrate the floor. Really love to watch you show your girls about nature! See ya on the flip!

Man what a great time ! two ideas . get a small cast iron dutch oven with a lid and pre-burn the lantern at home so you know it works . I have 2 from the 50's that still work great today , they are just pickey . love the way you wash up before bed . great idea . safer too .

Awesome memories for this little girl. I know it was so much fun for you both. I just wish there were more Fathers like you. You are the best!

If that's a 220 or 224 the pump is easy to fix . The generator is hard to find so make sure you don't leave the anti clog wire up in the orfis if it sticks and breaks of in the orfis you track down a replacement generator and lincage to replace the anti clog. I own 2. They are older than I am and I'm 62. Mine are model 220 b s they made them through model f.

In the late 60's and early 70's our tent was a army surplus tent. To this day I can still smell that tent!! When it rains dad said DO NOT THE TENT...BUT I DID AND I HAD A DRIP RIGHT ON MY BED !!!Good lesson learned!

You both looked like you were having a good time. I love camping and always have. I'm 70 years old and I still do tent camping. It's the only way to camp
