We installed a Craftsman sleeve hitch on a Simplicity Prestige and currently have it installed on a Simplicity Conquest and works great on both with c-channel bracket modification. Thanks for the video!

Summer 2022 I found an NOS Murray 24801 sleeve hitch kit at Fleet Farm for $50. I’m going to adapt to one of my Toro 5xi garden tractors. I have lots of attachments.

That is a great deal that you got on it. Murry has not been around in a long time.

Good video , I never knew a lawn tractor or the other riding mower machines you have were so versatile and multi-purpose . Who woulda thunk it 🇺🇸

With a little imagination, you can take even the cheapest riding mower and turn it into a useful tool on the farm!

I'm glad I found this video. I wanted to buy this but Troy Bilt told me that this Sleeve Hitch wasn't compatible with my Super Bronco. I think I will get it and see if I can get it work on mine as well. great job! Thanks!

You can use a grader blade turned backwards to push snow. I did that with an old 18hp Murray with chains in the tires and it worked great. I thought about making a bigger lighter blade from 1/8" steel plate and some trickery to add curvature but never got around to it. If I really needed it I would have mounted it on the back as planned since I already had the sleeve hitch in place and working with an electric lift.

The belt snapped yesterday while I was hauling bricks, so you cursed me somehow! It has the wiring and an Antenna mounted now, but I'm still working on a waterproof enclosure for the radio. This is all your fault! I showed your range test video to my wife and she was like "uh oh, your not going to try and do that are you?!!?" Yup!

@@FarpointFarmsSorry....I did't mean to jinx it. I looking forward to seeing how You end up mounting Your radio. I hope You didn't have to agree to anything outrageous, To get Your Wife to participate with a range test. God luck with the test....I hope You get 15 miles or more.

How universal are these hitches? Do I have to find the specific one that will fit my simplicity 6016? Thanks
@FarpointFarms4 ай бұрын
"universal" is more like fits most- There are some that you might have to modify or fabricate a bit to get it to work. I wish there was an easy answer for you

What is the slip hitch for just to attach trailers and other garden pull behind tools fast and with out getting off the mower? Or is there more to it? Great vid to 😷👍
@FarpointFarms4 жыл бұрын
There are certain attachments that will only work on tractors with this type of hitch. The regular mower only has a pin hitch, then you move up to the sleeve hitch for gardening and grading type work, and then you'd move up to a CAT 0 hitch or 3 point hitch, but those are no longer in use for these small tractors. Bigger ones use that type still.

I wonder if it could be fitted to a Craftsman Zero Turn mower.
@FarpointFarms2 жыл бұрын
I am sure it could be fitted with some modifications. The accessories for the zero turns are usually different from riding mowers due to the design of them. I am not sure how well a zero turn would do with items needing the sleeve hitch
@VulcanBomber1012 жыл бұрын
@@FarpointFarms many thanks for your reply, I tried it from the towbar, although I could' nt get the depth needed (only skimmed the surface) so I thought I can put a longer bolt and spacers to lower the teeth another ½" or so. There is certainly enough power.

Would it be possible to put it on a zero Turn

If I remember correctly they make an adapter for a zero turn so you can use this

whats the best tool for just removing the grass and leaving nice dirt behind
@FarpointFarms4 жыл бұрын
No one tool I'm afraid. You can use a pull behind gas powered tiller and then go back a day or two later to pick out any living clumps of grass, or you can turn the soil with a mold board plow and then go back with a cultivator or disc harrow and mince it up. Then go back a day or two later to pick anything that survived.

@Farpoint Farms Greetings from the Piedmont of NC! I’ve got a John Deere LA145 and bought another JD riding mower that the guy threw in a Sleeve Hitch, front Plow assbl’y & a rear Box Blade Scraper...I tried to install the rear Sleeve Hitch last night & just noticed, the guy didn’t supply the sleeve hitch mounting plate & brackets!?! Do you have those part #’s for just the steel mounting bracket (the part that u bolted onto the back of the mower itself?). Thank you in advance & just Subbed your channel! We’re think’n bout doing the “Off-Grid thing” soon and I practically grew up in the Mtns if NC (Lotta family up there!)

I’m new to a garden tractor. I bought a Craftsman GT 2000. It had no attachments but I found another Craftsman with attachments. The front had a bucket, the back with a dragged and a mover. I put the front and back attachments to the one with tractor tires, GT 2000. Where is a good source for buying parts? I’d lIke to put an electric bucket on it. Thx

So, are you "possibly" looking to replace your GT6000 with another? I'd recommend a late 1980's-Early 1990's Model with a Horizontal Shaft Kohler Magnum M18/20 or Briggs and Stratton Twin Opposed Engine! If you can find one (that fits your budget) with an Electricity Actuated Sleeve Hitch, you'd be GOLDEN! Take care, 🤓 -Thomas Port Orchard, Washington (Just West of Seattle)
