That is the system. If you give money back one year but need it the next. They never remember that you returned funds last year. All of a sudden you cant get what you really need because you did the right thing in the past. Politicians reviewing budgets are quite frankly, idiots. I had to deal with that for nearly 30 years. I will say I never, ever just wasted the money. We always tried to anticipate the future needs as best we could.

They are currently putting in more lines in Austin for new models and the robot. Berlin still has heaps of construction to go. The semi factory is currently under construction in Nevada and it looks like the robovan will be built there as well. I doubt they will make 20milion cars but I could see them getting to 10 million. Robotaxi is going to decimate automotive sales globally so I doubt the entire world wide auto market will be more then 30-40 million next decade as the Robotaxi has a much higher utilisation rate.

On humanoid robots Elon gave a great answer to a question in a town hall in PA before the win of Trump when asked what he could do for ASD sufferers. Take aside that I have early papers in AI and ran an AI capability and we are a broad church on AI ideas etc. I loved the answer Elon gave that a humanoid robot friend could help the ASD sufferer. My son has ASD and I have sensed for 20 years or so that the biggest problem is not the issue of jobs (as the person who had asked him the question suggested), empathy or anything like that but it is the issue of making friends. Many ASD regardless of how nice they are (like my son) have trouble with the issue of friendships so I loved Elon's answer. I agree, I’ve always been a car. I love driving cars, but the way traffic is nowadays you can’t even really enjoy a drive as much as before, I was a big skeptic of FSD when I got my first Tesla four years ago, then we got the free FSD trials last year and it blew my mind, then try it again with my wife later buyer Tesla last year with hardware 4 and honestly I was sold! ended up upgrading my model 3 to a newer 2024 with the hardware 4 as well and I ended up taking the plunge by getting the FSD as well, so far. I’m not regretting it.

Comment about Elon's comment about the regulation to support (as an example) "Red-legged frogs" resulting in a lack of firebreaks. Since the fires those "frogs" are all dead anyway so the regulation was self-defeating.
@anthonylosego
@anthonylosego 9 сағат бұрын
Not that I disagree, but there are many more firebreak locations than where the fires actually are. Meaning it's not as simple as a complete nullification. And many frogs bury themselves in mud and survive surface fires. CA has problems, but those problems are only 0.01% of the land area compared to the 100% viewing of those 0.01% problems on national news feeds. Something that explains the nature of their administration. Though I have to say, they need to focus on the humans a tad more.

Elon is so freaking intelligent! Probably too intelligent for the most of humanity. The Jetsons definitely on my mind! I see humans taking care of the robots verses us taking care of them- we will have plenty to do! So I don’t worry about all the free time the robots will enable us to have. I’m worried about humans becoming more dumbed down than we already am. To the future! Can’t wait! I’m excited about the future!

The question about what humans will do when AI can do all jobs for us, seems like a tough question at first, but it really isn't when you pay attention to history. EVERY single time a new tech came around the sooooooo many people thought was going to destroy humanity or industry, we did the one thing that we do better than any organism on the planet. We adapted. When the time comes that we don't have to work any longer, we will find other meaningful things to do. It's what we have ALLLLLLLLLWAYS done, and there isn't any physics or mathematical model that would oppose this, because it's logical, reasonable and empirically shown through out history. Great Vid.

If even the experts agree that there is a chance we could lose control of Ai, then why are we cheering on the fact that they want to put that mind into a chassis before we know what the mind is capable of? And why if the experts creating this technology say the end goal, the best case scenario is that it replaces a system of earning we have done since the beginning of man. So my understanding is best case is that it destroys our way of earning a living, and the worst is that we create an army that can control and destroy us.

What I’ve found using AI systems is that the quality of your prompt matters immensely and skills and knowledge are still required to do this. Plus skills and know are required to evaluate the results it gives. I’ve been given many answers that I realized were incorrect or were the product of insufficient knowledge on my part to enable the crafting of a good prompt.

Highly unlikely that humanoid robots will replace manual labor in this decade. Just 1 hard math question took GPT03 several minutes to answer at a cost in the 6 digits and used as much power as a mid size town.. Those kind of math equations involving Newtonian calculus can be used to track dangerous asteroids but also are needed for a robot to calculate how to put the lid back on the mayo jar....So one thing is to train a robot for a predictable repetitive task, another one is to have a generalist robot, and thus far the only path to AGI is massive data processing.
@TheEvilmooseofdoom
@TheEvilmooseofdoom 3 сағат бұрын
You make the flawed assumption that the bots themselves will each be an AGI. They'll be drones. There will be few actual AGI's.
@Ramiromasters
@Ramiromasters 37 минут бұрын
@TheEvilmooseofdoom No, I don't even assume drones will have AGI. What I'm saying is that if the flagship model of OpenAI requires a gargantuan amount of resources to complete a complex human task, having tens of thousands of robots requesting compute time will currently be impossible to do practically.

I think the problem in this great future of robots that he discusses is that the transition period of a society without the same capitalist restrictions. People are not going to want to let go of their notions about money, and there would have to be a huge project that sheltered and fed people through the transition or else desperate people will do desperate things. It's like gasoline engines. Sure, they are going to change and eventually be outdated in most vehicles, but it can't happen overnight, and the best laid plans of men don't always play out the way they'd hoped. I hope the billionaire guy is right about the uselessness of money. I hope that the people at the top make choices based on empathy for all, not just those good enough for a glorious and brave new world.

What he says is very transformational. Imagine one could think, speak and hear or see more or faster, perhaps musical notes would sound different, perhaps we would perceive reality quite differently. Of course Wolfram's idea that if we were very very large, the size of a planet we would experience reality differently is an argument of a different order of magnitude but, never the less, what Musk suggests in interesting to ponder.
