@@suwinkhamchaiwong8382 They're not unbreakable rules set down in law by the UN or something, just general guidelines that several different organizations have sorta settled on. A dragon might be hard to draw but it's also hard to forgot so it doesn't violate the spirit of the rule which is more about having an easy to remember and recognize design. The Welsh flag accomplishes this very well as anyone could recognize the distinctive dragon in that pose and the dragon has been used on RN ships.

7:00 It was not ignored. Here's my explanation on it. For short summary : Indonesia's flag never changed since Majapahit Empire. The Indonesians rejected Monaco's request to change the flag. The red and white flag was used since Majapahit era in the 13th centuries to 16th centuries. It was used in other Kingdoms too after Majapahit Empire is gone. Even when Indonesia (or Dutch East Indies) was colonized by the Dutch in early 20th, the local Indonesian people were still using the red and white flag (although they couldn't do it freely because of the Dutch strict rules). It was freely used when Japan comes to make Indonesians to like them more. Then WW2 ends, it was just used officially as the Indonesia's flag in 1945 when Indonesia declared their independence. There are hundreds of history behind the flag and it always used to represent the people who lived there, in Nusantara, so it's impossible to change it, or rather, why would the Indonesians change the hundreds of years flag from their past empire just because another country didn't like it? I think it even predated that of the Principality of Monaco too. So Monaco cannot use the "we use it first" reason. In the end they agreed with Indonesia's flag ratio is 2:3 meanwhile Monaco is 4:5. I think the shade is slightly different with Indonesia's red is brighter. Obviously, the meaning and history behind the two flag are completely different from each other. Fun fact/theory(?) : There are other flags that based on the Majapahit flag. There's theory/speculation on the US flag is based on the Majapahit flag because of the British East India Company's flag was inspired by the Majapahit's flag. There are two types of flag, the red-white flag (the banner) and the stripes (the pennant). I forgot the names, sorry. The Company probably seen the ships from Majapahit used those stripes and added the Britain's flag there. Indonesia still use the red and white stripes too for the Naval Jack. Indonesia didn't change since Majapahit Empire basically.

Regarding the Romania/Chad/Andorra similarity: Another difference save for the coat of arms is that the yellow field in the Andorran flag is wider than the blue and red. 0:30 You do realise that the Australian flag DOES have symbolism? The Union Jack is from our British heritage (I do think it should be there but there should be an Aboriginal part), and on the right there is the Southern cross which is a constellation you can see across Australia and the star at the bottom left has a ‘spike’ for each of the states and territories. I don’t know if anyone knew or it’s not considered important enough or not simple/obvious enough but I thought someone might find it interesting. Extra note: I think most countries have symbolism whether it is obvious or not

I'm surprised you didn't bring up one of the other key reasons New Zealand wanted to change their flag (but sadly didn't) -- they're constantly being confused with the Australian flag. The two were accidentally switched during a medal ceremony at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Hell, some people still think NZ is an Australian state!

In my experience, Kiwis are pretty indifferent to their flag. I knew people there who couldn't really tell the difference between the Aussie and Kiwi flags, or at least that's what they said. Even if they were lying, that shows great indifference, which is fine, of course, but a shame just because the winning new flag was SO much better. I've seen some good alternate ideas for the Aussie flag, too. One other worth mentioning is the Chinese "Five-Coloured Flag". Either China or Taiwan should bring that one back, because both of those countries have political flags, while the Five-Coloured Flag is cultural. It's also cool and pretty distinct.

Everything on the Australian flag is symbolism. -The Union Jack because of the commonwealth connection to the UK. - The 5 stars on the right are the Southern Cross, a consultation only visible from the Souther Hemisphere where we are. - The big star on the left is called the Commonwealth star and symbolises the number of states plus one for the territories of the Federation. - and arguably the blue background represents the sky and/or surrounded by sea.

Australia uses meaningful symbols on its flag. The Union Jack represents the connection between Australia and the United Kingdom. The Southern Cross is to represent Australia's location and the seven pointed star represents the 6 states and 2 territories on the mainland.

I think the Belarus flag is very beatiful, with the traditional pattern on the left of the flag. Many people in western Europe have problems separating all the pan slavic flags, all the red,white and blue tricolors, but the Belarus is the one standing out the most. Your blue and yellow flag is also very beautiful.

They added Arabic scripture because it is the “shahada” for Islam, and Saudi Arabia is a huge symbol for Islam because it has the Kaaba. The sword is also there to symbolize justice and power. I unfortunately forgot what the green background means.
