I never realized this video almost reached 100k views. Also kinda interesting that Italians in the comment section go: ''Viva l'Italia!'' while appreciating the edit while Americans argue about what ''Fascist Anarchy'' means, how d'Annunzio fits into Fascism or the relationship between Mussolini and d'Annunzio. 1)D'Annunzio called himself an anarchist once, you might not see him as one but he definetly saw himself as one. Fascism did have some influence from anarcho syndicalism and classical anarchism. One of the first proto Fascist organizations in existence was named after Proudhon. Cold War Italian Neo Fascist Terrorists method of organization is kind of reminiscent of classical anarchists. You can compare them to Turkish Greywolves of the same period who were organized more like Russian Black Hundreds. 2)Fascism was heavily influenced by d'Annunzio and d'Annunzio reaped the benefits of the Fascist regime. Fascists not only admired him but Balbo and Grandi even asked him to lead the Fascist party after Mussolini resigned from the party in August 1921. D'Annunzio being the showman he is didn't say yes or no but said he had to consult the stars. But then d'Annunzio tells them the two should wait for his answer a bit more because the night sky is cloudy. Balbo and Grandi of course doesn't wait for that and just leave. In 1923 socialist historian Gaetano Salvemini would write about his fear of d'Annunzio, ''the maddest of Fascists'', ousting Mussolini and implementing a ''Superfascist programme''. D'Annunzio was definetly seen as a part of the Fascist regime for his entire life and trying to seperate him from it is just a way of protecting his artistic legacy from the Anti Fascist Laws and I respect that. 3)Nobody really cares what Mussolini and d'Annunzio thought of each other. This video shows Mussolini in a way as the successor to d'Annunzio as the leader of Italian Nationalists and that is indeed what he was. Of course there were ideological differences and Mussolini's Italy was not even close to what D'Annunzio envisioned in Fiume, maybe until RSI, which would still be a strecht. Fascism is not that complex when you actually read what academics say about it instead of long telegram or instagram posts or tiktok edits or some hoi4 mod (Seriously, Telegram+Instagram+Tiktok+Hoi4 just creates the worst kind of ideological people possible. I literally use Instagram to watch cooking videos, why the fuck would you want to read up on Fiume on Instagram?) . Futurism etc are not fully fledged ideologies but Futurism is a beautiful form of art that greatly influences and gets influenced by Fascism and its aesthetitcs. Syndicalism is a meme especially in the modern day. Like honestly I have never met a ''syndicalist'' who even got inside an union building. Trying to pinpoint what an ideology is is a waste of time unless you are in the academy and when you do academy stuff you realize that there is no clear definition and its again a waste of time. Honestly when you really delve into it Fascism is just flamboyant, nationalistic social democracy with sometimes edgy aesthetics and I love that. Be like the Italians in the comment section who just appreciate seeing their national heroes in action despite their different views on who is supposed to own a textile factory that existed in fucking 1920. D'Annunzio and Mussolini are great men who had colorful lives.

@@MFHY-st2mq It’s interesting but disturbing and D’Annunzio was a great man, he is considered the precursor of fascism but he was really what Mussolini pretended to be to get popular support and in many ways not alike Mussolini at all, for instance D’Annunzio personally led the expedition to Fiume and took it on his country’s behalf. Mussolini was on the contrary hidden when the March on Rome happened and only showed up once it was clear that it went well to take the country’s throne for himself and everything he did afterwards was for his ambition not for his people towards which he clearly felt contempt. At the end Mussolini killed D’Annunzio because he had become a problem for his open disgust towards the alliance with Hitler, an Austrian of all people just two decades after WWI.

Fascism isn't just a socio-political ideology it's spiritual & intuitive but here's the core philosophers of Fascism: Plato, G.W.F Hegel, Friedrich Nietzsche, Georges Sorel, Robert Michels & Giovanni Gentile. But one should think of fascism like an Art & Spiritual discipline in it's purest form it's a Nietzschean belief in living dangerously, living for struggle but also contractively selflessly & benevolently living for the State & the Nation. Fascists incorporate ideas from many other schools of thought anarchist, liberal, Marxist, traditionalist, conservative but Fascism itself is Idealist. Also all systems & ideologies are inherently totalitarian including liberalism.

You should read his story, it's more that Mussolini wanted to be like D'Annunzio, in fact we can say that some ideas of D'Annunzio's poems and novels inspired fascism but not that he was a fascist... D'Annunzio was strongly influenced by Nietzsche and so he had a pretty elitarian conception of society while fascism had its ground in the masses, in common people... In addition Mussolini hated D'Annunzio and he confined him in a giant villa which looked like a gift from the Duce but in reality was an imprisonment for the Italian war-poet maybe because D'Annunzio highly criticized Mussolini's alliance with Hitler.

@@tresojos He came with the proposal to talk and criticize Italian fascism, but he doesn't, he just demonizes it, he doesn't talk about what fascism is, you don't learn anything by watching this film, besides wasting time, the director just keeps showing his sick fetishes with shit and children's penises and thinks this is criticizing fascism, which he himself probably doesn't even know what it is

@@luke.4317 What is the point and criticism of a rubbish film like this? Did you learn what fascism or communism is by watching this? Why was the idea like that, according to the director himself

@@demitidodoitau4273 Fascism is not the main focus of the film, power and its corrupting force are, the fascist setting is used because it is an ideology based on power but change the fascists with billionaire capitalists and the meaning of the film doesn’t change one bit.
