I loved this style but I was in high school during its peak and early college I couldn’t afford it. Also I was worried about being a poser (not really into goth music but always did admire the look). Now that I can afford killstar idk how popular it is lol. The style didn’t seem to survive outside of tumblr. Which by the way I just freakin miss tumblr fashion lol

I love trad and Nu styles.but I also love the music and the history. I also never in my life feel more comfortable with the things I putt on my body. I thirft mostly but do shop cheap. Is there any online shops you would recommend for someone on the lower income base? 🖤

Unfortunately a lot of the brands I talk about (killstar, black craft cult, disturbia) are pretty expensive. You can get good deals sometimes but still not inexpensive. You could go with shein or temu if you want clothes that fit your particular style. Just know that the clothing can be hit or miss because of how cheap they are.

Trad Goth and Deathrock is just a dark take on 80's fashion. Industrial Goth and Mall Goth is just a dark take on late 90's/early 00's fashion. Nu-Goth is just a dark take on the fashion of today. Intentionally being Trad Goth today may involve thrifting, but not back in the 80's. All they did was buy regular clothing and make it goth. A lot of Nu-goth is the exact same thing, buying regular clothing and making it goth.

There was actually a big thifting culture in the 80s and 90s. Angela Benedict here on youtube talks about it heavily if you want to check her out.

@@ashleycole97 People of all sorts have always thrifted. I thrift myself. But my point wasn't about thrifting specifically. It was that the only real difference between trad goth and nu-goth. Is the fashion of their decade. Trad goth is distinctly 80's, remove the goth part and it would still be distinctly 80's. Nu-goth is distinctly 2010's up to current day, remove the goth and it will still be distinctly 2010's up to current day. Their style may be different, but their essence is the same.

I just like the goth fashion but I enjoy metal music more... idk where I fit in heh. Idk why thats bad tho... I haven't had a chance to do any goth type style at all with the exception of what I did at otakon in like 2010(?) Cyber goth is my fave but I enjoy the trad too. 🤔 idk.... my music tastes arent like in one spot tho... All in all im 33 and I wanna get into it naow before I meet my end... I dont want to die with regret.. not too much of it anyway lol
