fun bangs fact! the word bangs is most likely a reference to bang-tail, the practice of cutting horse tails straight across. that's not set in stone though, the actual origin of the use of bangs for a hairstyle isn't totally known.

as someone who has had a baby fringe numerous times over the years i say GO FOR IT!! hair grows and i really do think theres something so harsh yet cutesy yet dainty yet edgy about them. i always got so many compliments on mine; they are high maintenance though if youre the kind of girl who just likes to leave hair in braid and not do too much with it maybe thats something to think about?? like they can stick up and go a bit skewiff and need a lot of managing... like windy days??? like can i actually be arsed for the commitment of le fringe? questions questions!!
@ashleighcallaghanКүн бұрын
I cannot deal with high maintenance hair , why is short hair always so much more work I swear. fun fact (another one) the hair in this vid is what I slept in. I washed it the night before and put it in a plait when it was wet, then that morning I just clipped the bits falling in my face away and started rolling lol. I haven't touched a straighter or hair product in over a decade istg . maybe the fringe life isn't for me ahahah
@NaoiseCora18 сағат бұрын
@@ashleighcallaghan honestly same these days hence why i decided to grow mine out :(( i do however have something akin to curtain bangs rn that literally all i do with is: wash at night, comb all my hair back away from my face while its still wet, then go to bed. when i wake up the fringey bits look bouncy and interesting but still congruous with the rest of my hair. potentially an option pour toi???
@caterpillar9512Күн бұрын
As an American, I prefer to interpret bangs as like. Every individual strand of hair is a bang. So collectively they are bangs.
@ashleighcallaghan18 сағат бұрын
ok INTERESTING I can see that. I think this requires a deep dive. in the uk we say 'a fringe' to refer to the short hair that falls on your face as a whole. Fringe (singular). In your example, 'bangs' IS ACTUALLY a plural word, so lol this is another element I did not consider hahahah

In the vein of baby bangs, I'm seeing a trend of the hime cut going mainstream (possibly because of Gaga at the Grammys). I feel it's the most face framing haircut there is, it's so feminine and cool, I'd categorize it as fashion for your face xD I've done it YEARS ago (and liked it very much) but the hairstylists were so confused/outraged by my request that I thought I'd never thought it would become popular.

Love, back in the day, we called it a “unibrow.” Glasses that have a hinge allowing one to flip up the sunglass part but keep the clear prescription glasses already exist and were popular amongst very cool kids in the US in the 1990s. See Kadeem Harrison in the ‘90s TV show “A Different World” which was a spin-off of The Cosby Show. You might also look into “Transitions” glasses which turn from prescription to sunglasses when you are out in the sun. That will prevent you from carrying the weight of two sets of glasses on your face. Be well! ❤
@susanma4899Күн бұрын
I had some transitions for awhile and they didn't work for me. Here's why--I have to wear sunglasses to drive, but when you're inside the car your glasses are not going to transition. Plus when I was out in the glaring sun, they STILL weren't dark enough. That's my two cents.
@lexj23Күн бұрын
@@susanma4899 ah, damn. Thanks for chiming in with your experience. I am lucky that I haven’t needed to wear glasses (I’m now in my mid-40s), but always thought the Transitions looked cool, and would also solve the problem of the weight.

As someone who's had rimless glasses, if you rly love how they look, go off, but they are fragile and can be uncomfortable. The rim is attached to the lens by a very small post or wire so if you break that (easy to do esp if you have very thick lenses like I do), you have to get all new glasses. I think your current ones are the kind that just sit on your nose w a plastic shape, but rimless have wired nose pads, which can be annoying to get used to if you have never had them, and are obv hard to adjust. Mine would drive me crazy all the time and they would break from how often I tried to bend them - again, necessitating buying all new glasses. I'm extremely sensitive and a person with dead mole eyes, so I feel the pain of wanting new glasses, but everything feels bad on my face. Definitely if you can, try some rimless or wired ones on first to see if they feel ok, and if you do rimless, make peace w the fact that they will break, often, so hopefully not a v expensive pair. I would definitely go thin frame if you don't care that much, they are MUCH sturdier for a similar effect. I also am dying for new glasses, are you in my brain? Best of luck to us both love you xxx PS I used to put sunglasses over my glasses when I had small lenses! FYI you can't do just any sunglasses, they have to happen to be the right width that the stems sit on top of your glasses stems and get "stuck," or the bridge has to be able to sit in front of your glasses and still be the right height to cover them. I did find 2 that worked on mine but you HAVE to try them on.

I think you would look incredible with a baby fringe. And as someone who has recently had a fringe cut, I would say go all in- don't listen to people saying to get a subtle one frist because it will grow out within a couple of weeks and if you don't go short to begin with you won't know what length you like.

I am kinda the same with my prescription. It makes getting glasses tiresome and expensive.

It took me half the video to realize this is about glasses and not like facial essence

My mom had to pay out of pocket for my last pair and I've just been wearing the same ones for like two years lol. Mine are pretty similar to yours except the middle of mine is metal. I like it because it hides the fact i have a nonexistent nose bridge and make my nose look longer (my nose bridge is so flat my glasses keep falling down....) I also dislike the word bangs as an American daughter of immigrants. It never made sense to me because when i was younger i just assumed they meant that someone like banging things together with their heads.... my grasp on the english language is rather perilous if i may say. ... I'm absoultely sure that the what i am about to say is due to the picture quality and not the fact that real-life bangs can't be in your future.... but the pic looks like edna mode with a pixie cut. (Or tina belcher with a pixie cut but even i don't think it's thaaaat bad.... probably). Love you, thanks for the vid!
