I'll be starting another short Photoplay series, this time consisting of fashion blurbs from Photoplay magazine from throughout the 1920s.

A diamond shape - tiny feet in healed shoes, heavy wrap or skirts, then a tiny bodice and tiny hat on top. A very pretty era.

This was excellent. It should get hundreds of likes. I studied fashion & textile design at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology. This really took me back to my days as a student in the late 80's. The descriptions couldn't be better. I wish I could enter a time travel machine and go back to this era.

OMG! Monkey fur? Interesting how times have changed...now that would be considered barbaric.

Do not forget the baby lamb and chinchilla coat, and the squirrel trimmed hat. 😁

Where would you even get Monkey fur? I doubt you can farm the poor blighters, and hunting or trapping has to have limited results; they're pretty smart. Has to cost a mint. Talk about conspicuous consumption.

I've been away from this channel for a few months due to University taking up my time. But I'm now doing a project based in the 1920s, so I'm back, and I'm so happy to see that this channel has grown so much since I was last here. It's an amazing increase, and fully deserved! And I'm really looking forward to catching up with all the videos I've missed. Keep the good work going! 😁🎞🎬

I have quite a lot 1920s movie magazines stashed away, I'm going to have to get them out and read them again.I'm a huge fan of silent movies and would recommend anyone to seek them out, not just the comedians, but, dramas too.

It's sad you cannot get that sort of beauty in magazines these days. Too much plastic surgery and exaggerated expectations for people to follow. The actresses of the 1910s and 1920s were beautiful such as Pickford, Gish sisters, Miriam Cooper, the Talmadge sisters, Mable Normand, Dolores Costello, Thera Bara, Clara Bow, Colleen Moore, Margery Wilson, Dorothy Davenport, and much more. I would love it if one day a film or tv show was made to depict the lives of early Hollywood actresses.

I wish so much styles like this would make a comeback in a big way. Maybe without the monkey fur and ostrich feathers though and with safe and animal-friendly alternatives.

I'm surprised you haven't done a video about Anna May Wong, a great fashion icon of the 1920s and early 30s. She has a few Photoplay articles too: chimericaneyes.blogspot.com/2017/07/anna-may-wong-in-photoplay.html

So funny to see what people thought was top fashion of the day. So, so, very different from what we think high fashion is today .

The fur and the hats are incredible. You need some help with some of the pronunciation, particularly with some of the French terms.

@@jeaniechowdury576 I didn't mean it as a criticism but as some feedback for making his channel the best possible, since I enjoyed it so much. I'm sorry that it didn't come across that way.

This stuffs pretty and be cool now but with all the Dorks upset over fur good luck wearing a vintage fur now But with racoons being a pest it's not awful to have a raccoon coat id certainly would look for a vintage raccoon coat to wear now for winter and just tell some snowflake its fake or none of your business lol and if I lived back in these days id have to stick with the casual and regular clothes of the plebs since I most definitely would have been a farmer or school marme like most of the women in my family 😊...

20s were not very fashionable. My favorite is the 1930-40.
