I didn't buy balloon skirts the first time they were a trend, and definitely won't now. There's a lot to be said for classics.

I adjust pictures that are hanging crooked. You can imagine what an asymmetrical hemline does to me!
@Myover50fashionlife7 күн бұрын
For some reason it seems different. I m constantly adjusting pictures on our walls but an intentional asymmetrical hem is no problem. One that is meant to be straight and goes crooked I have to adjust but I can do one sided half tuck without it irritating me.

Well over 60 and when it comes to footwear, my comfort and balance rule the day. No platforms, not made of knit or fabric, wide toe-box, arch support, etc. etc. Spent 50 years working in an office wearing heels every day and now I’m over it. And now I need to sell all my pumps/heels in the online market place because I spent too much money on them when purchased new!

With seriously flat feet, which are also narrow, I depend Ecco and Merrell for everyday trainers as they are slightly more narrow than other brands and don't look like old ladies comfort shoes either - wouldn't be seen dead in those at 70!

Big legs run in our family so I prefer my shorts ankle length. On the fringe - I'm looking at some right now - it's on a cushion. Seriously though, your tips are so good and make a lot of sense. You take from fashion the trends that suit you, and offer very helpful advice on colour and style.

I like classical clothes that can be dressed up or down but got to confess i am moving away from blue jeans. Also wear a lot of trainers in summer. My activities are mostly walking and walking so they have to have supportive frames as i need support. Never wore a lot of ballet flats and only wear sandals if i am not doing walking as they cut up my feet and leave blisters. I love loose cotton trousers and cut offs and loose blouses. I stick to what i like even if others are following fashion xxx

I think the Hoff trainer sole, looks like dirt when you look at it. Not attractive to me. But I agree totally with you when it comes to the wide cuff jeans, not for me either.
@tamiewert8089 күн бұрын
Great video! I laughed at your point about mesh shoes!! I was thinking exact same things, and I’m sure we are not alone! Burkies are the best! There are many styles, and they take care of the feet, which is important after age 50! The wide cuffs are a big no for me, and don’t look good unless you are tall and thin!
@janetj4718 күн бұрын
Those plastic mesh shoes might work as swim shoes but $650 to wear into the water seems a little much 😂

Classic clothes just end up looking and feeling boring on me, they don't work with my figure type or creative nature, at 70, the age I am now, and never have done, at any age! I think, like everything it depends on your own looks and personality.

Love earrings all styles, but it's a faff trying to find clip-on, I don't have pierced ears, or I have to change the fixture😮. Love this vid, appeals to me, well done for this. Simplicity, classic and chic. The whole colour spectrum, no problem but some subtley. Use colour in accessories. I'm small in stature so I dress with that in mind....elongated. You look great and we all want that, especially when the 'number' keeps going up❤

Mesh shoes- surely just a mass of blisters. I need wide toe areas- I love birkies including their sneakers. Chunky sneakers are out for 2025.

Totally agree, I do own a couple of mesh tops that I wear over a cami in summer but not really revealing, we don’t need to be a slave to fashion trends, we’ve learnt that over the years I hope😂

I'm past caring if others recognise what I'm wearing. Especially trainers. Wide cuff jeans Nooooooo. I also remember the Gloria Vanderbilt rhinestone jeans of the late 80's - didn't suit me then either
@Myover50fashionlife9 күн бұрын
Oh gosh yes. I remember those too.

That takes me back! I had a pair of GV rhinestone jeans. They just had the Gloria Vanderbilt signature in rhinestones on the back pocket and were burgundy, fine cord. I loved them.

I wish people would be as honest as to who can look good in skinny jeans (which are totally passe) as you were about cuffed jeans. Unless you’re tall and slim, skinny jeans make you look like a sausage. BUT, sometimes we like to wear what’s “in” and not constantly trying to look tall/slim. THAT is self cancelling.

Hoff trainers, I have two pairs. Really good. Walked miles round Barcelona in my first pair. Got them in soft pastel, like neopolitan ice cream, and brash bright vibrant pink's & purple.

Well, I will pass on most of those, so then in a couple years I won’t be out of style! I like fashion but live a very casual lifestyle and am mid-60s so fringes, barrel jeans, soft colours are just not for me. Thanks for a fun to watch video. Your humour is very enjoyable.

Exposing one's knees when one is over 60, or even perhaps 50 something, is not a good look. God has created long skirts and long pants. So, ladies, wear them.

It’s not only age. Some of your advice seems to imply everyone is wider and schlumpy over 60. That’s not true so be sure to consider your body type, proportions and style when saying yay or nay to trends. The same applies to women of any age. I agree that the ballet flat, in general, flatters no one!

I absolutely hate 'trainers' unless for sport. Perhaps it is my age at 75, they have the association of wannabe trying to look young and trendy. So clumsy looking on the feet and just so inappropriate with dresses and skirts. Yes, IMHO.

Some channels I watch say that although "chunky" sneakers are still considered fashionable in 2025, the trend is shifting towards slimmer, lower-profile sneaker silhouettes, with brands like Adidas Sambas. Because I walk a lot at work, I recently tried a pair of Hokas (Vionics are also very good!). Hokas are clunky but the support is the best I have ever tried.
@Myover50fashionlife8 күн бұрын
Interesting about Hokas. I’ve heard elsewhere that Sambas are out . Theres such a lot of inconsistency.
