This is a great and simple pattern (as long as you concentrate 🤣). My hat came out very well, thanks to your well explained tutorial and demonstration. I also like how doing a knit slip at the start makes the edges straight and therefore tidy.

I just divided total in half then that half in half. Most of the times this works for me so when it doesn’t you just have to unravel and try with less stitches for the sleeves

I have finished the newborn size for our first baby that we're expecting in December, and I am so happy with how it turned out! I have tried many different methods for knitting beanies, and found this one to be so simple! I am curious- would this technique work for an adult hat? You can just decrease one more time with k2tg across. If you still have too many stitches then k2tg again.

Can you give instructions for using Dk or baby weight yarn? This pattern is great because it can fit all different size babies with the stretch of the ribbing.

I think that with dk yarn you will just need to add 4-8 more stitches if you’re using the same needle size.
