Hi Bob and Jenny, ooh the fast check in sounded good. There is a lot to see, you will be busy bees. The nature reserve had some lovely views. Ryde looks a nice seaside place to visit. Thank you for sharing. X Julie and Tony x

glad you showed brading down, its a great free place to stop with motorhome or caravan if you get an early ferry and need somewhere to relax for a few hours before you can book in to a site.

Hi Bob, Jenny and of course Poppy. We have never been to the IOW, but will have to visit. I loved the “ooo” when the barrier lifted, you always wonder whether these things work or not. Thanks for another informative Vlog. H&M.😊

Hi Bob and Jenny another lovely video and I am glad like us someone likes to get their bearings in a new place! Watching this brought back many happy memories of our holiday on the island there is so much to see and do The military road is great on the south of the island some amazing views and scenery The garlic farm is somewhere different we enjoyed going but godshill and the model village are great! Ventnor is also a nice place to visit the beach is lovely We went to many of the places you suggested and enjoyed them it was a shame how commercialised the needles was but alum bay itself was pretty We stayed at bembridge well on the seaview side of the harbour it’s lovely there and the lifeboat station is worth seeing it’s built out at sea and it’s worth seeing the lifeboat training if it’s on and some nice fish restaurants there Osbourne is beautiful I can see why queen Victoria and Prince Albert fell in love with it Looking forward to following your adventures best wishes to you all Daniel

I like that check in, so much better. It always annoys me that there are so many places in the UK that won’t let dogs in yet most of Europe and America don’t have a problem.

Hope that you are both enjoying/have enjoyed your stay at Southland where I am on a seasonal pitch. I think that you should give Sat Nat a permanent holiday. The Isle of Wight is a hidden gem because there is so much to see and do during an extended stay.

Many thanks for your video’s we find them very helpful for planning our trips. It’s especially useful that you give the price for the sites that you stay on as I find it very difficult to work out how much to expect to pay without going through the rigmarole of the booking app. Also good to know where dogs are welcome to visit. Keep up the good work! Regards from Guernsey Tina & Nigel

My one criticism of automation of the checking in system is that there's no interaction with another human being. I like being welcomed to the site (as long as it's genuine) and it's an opportunity to ask questions about the site and the area. I can see that site wardens (sorry.... managers) will soon be phased out. That's my moan done 😄 Nice little drive around. I remember from years ago when we visited IOW it was covered in a little network of minor roads and lanes. It's like a mini version of England. I seem to remember enjoying an afternoon walk at Cowes along the Parade and Esplanade. The Children liked Alum Bay near the needles where there was coloured sands. Hope the Solent wasn't too choppy today 😉 Trev.

Fortunately you can still go to reception to register the car registration. It will save a whe load of queuing when sites are busy.

I remember Ryde. The Crab inn in Shanklin is nice, or was nice when I was there. You can drive right round the island, Freshwater the other side of the island is more rugged. Osborne House is beautiful, my cousin worked at the golf course there. Whippingham church is worth a visit. I think Jenny would like Shanklin.

Great to see you’ve made it to my home island,( we live in Carisbrooke, when not in our van as we are now)wish we had the reverse ferry offers as it costs us a lot more to get van off island and of course we then don’t have the benefit of ferry and pitch deals, so our van stays in Blandford to cut the expenses of ferry’s to just car price.Enjoy the island say hi to my daughter in Carisbrooke castle 😁

Filmed last week I'm afraid. I suppose that's the drawback of living on the Isle.

I wrote a question asking about the barrier key and car when you first arrived now i saw the answer. Shanklin is a nice place (or was) also Cowes to see the yachts i guess you can drive round the whole Island in a day so i am sure you will explore everywhere lol

We stayed at Sandown, I saw the hotel The Sandown on your video plus we had a coach tour so i think you should put your motorhome setting in the sat nag. haha i don't remember most of those lanes, only narrow ones getting to some places. I am sure our ferry from Portsmouth was to Cowes or Rhyde?Shanklin i am sure there is a ancient park i am sure Poppy can go, that is where i saw people growing orange and lemon trees
@BobEarnshawMoHo Жыл бұрын
Yes, we put Mrs Sat Nag on car settings, so it chose all the narrow lanes.

The site looks really nice although the IoW looks to be getting very busy to what I remember. A good idea bob about a Suzuki Jimny , we've had a couple of them the last one being on a 2015 plate. I should think it would be slightly narrower than the UP and you would be sitting higher in one as well...plus the fact you could literally go anywhere in one of them...ideal for getting off the beaten track especially in Scotland & Orkney🚙😀

I’m a local....garlic farm? Fighting Cocks? Wow....that’s new.... Try the pub in Shorewell, the one in Newchurch and Chale....all great... Sandown has very little to offer, sadly, apart from a great beach. Go to Ventnor, nice place, even for islanders. Shanklin has a great camp site and good high street with a great beach. Travel over to the west Wight...you’ll be amazed... There’s some amazing places here, just explore....and don’t believe those online reviews or predictions.... It’s a wonderful island...

Hi Bob, great visit as always. Can I request, when you go out to places in the car, can you comment on the suitability for taking a medium (6.5m) motorhome please? Both in terms of the route there, and the availability and suitability of parking. This would help those of us who don’t tow a car. Any public transport links would also help. Lastly, watch out for adders with Poppy if you go walking on the chalk downs. Many thanks.

I do try to mention it, but driving a motorhome on some of those 6ft 6in roads is a no go.

I hope you will not be offended by my comment as it is meant in the nicest possible way, but we have watched your videos for quite some time now and I cannot understand why you always show the shower and toilet blocks, laundry room and chemical disposable points at caravan and motorhome sites when without exception because of the nature of the club they invariably are all the same. Maybe you could explain.
@BobEarnshawMoHo Жыл бұрын
Well I've filmed enough to know they aren't all the same. There are many facility blocks that look very similar, but the newer ones like Black Knowl and Morn Hill are quite different. Additionally, it could well be the first video that someone watches about that site or indeed any site, so I think I owe new people a look at the site facilities.
