This is my first afghan. So easy and just beautiful. I am doing it in Caron Simply soft in chocolate and it is lovely. I cannot wait to finish it because I want to do it again with contrasting sand for the background and an ocean blue for the shells. I am hoping it will look like the ocean surf to be my new beach blanket. Thank you so much for sharing this. I just love listening to you. Thank you so much for your very clear explanation, Alison, I couldn’t wait to start a ‘love blanket’ for my eldest daughter, It ttoook me just over a month, in my spare time while watching TV, and I’m thrilled with the result. I made it with a 14ply yarn which was 30% Alpaca, 30% wool and 40% acrylic. I crocheted with a 6.4mm wooden hook. It’s amazingly soft and cuddly and my daughter loves it! This is now my go -to pattern for baby gifts , I needed something easy, repetitive and quick, and this is perfect. Can’t thank you enough! I finished it off with a DC row and a TC to finish. I would send you a photo, but don’t know how!

Hi from Florida Alison! Sorry it’s so cold in Scotland, very pretty nail polish. I’m crocheting this blanket and can’t believe as you said, it’s fast, grows in height quickly and is crocheting up beautifully. I took your suggestion as far as black and white yarn and I love it. Can’t wait to finish. Thank you for ALL your videos. Happy crocheting 😊

I agree with all who have said that this is a beautiful pattern. I’m doing it in three colors and changing colors after the fan row so the fans stand out more. However, I wouldn’t say it’s a very fast afghan. Apparently it’s just me, but any pattern where I have to go into the back loop 150 times every other row is going to be fast. Still, it’s going to be a beautiful afghan, so it’s definitely worth it.

I loved this tutorial! I made a small blanket. I used 2 cakes with black in between. I wish I could upload a picture to you. Thank you for being so generous with your teachings. ( Lol I have used that gel nail polish too!)
