Yes The Dodoma land is unique it does not support tall building. Overtime tall buildings are subject to sinking that is why engineers in Dodoma have their limit height when building. The water and aquifers are vedy near to the surface so makes it hard for extral tall building to be built

Nice video Bertin.Despite Dodoma being seismically active and prone to large earthquakes,the government has designed it to be a low sprawling city same as Abuja and Las Vegas.The only drawback for Dodoma is the zoning was not properly taken into account. Maybe because it is not being built from scratch.

Since Dodoma was declared the Capital City in the 1970's Construction has been keenly supervised by the City Development Authorities Surveys made and land allocated for construction of all Capital city needs were set aside since then ... Do developers and architects/urban planners not travel to the USA and Canada, and not even to Europe to be inspired by what is new and modern in the developed world? look at South Africa and see how advanced they are in terms of urbanism and architecture and try to imitate it... it is not possible that in Tanzania they continue to build these canals and also do nothing thinking about the people and pedestrians who they will walk on these streets where there is not even a proper sidewalk.

What you see on the ground is just the early stages of development of the city.Cannals will be constructed and pedestrians walks will be installed.In January the government signed MOU with Korea's Agency for Administration City and Heerim Architects and Planners to develop the city to world standards. Alot gonna be put in place including city parks e.t.c.Starting next June after the budget many developments will happen in the city.The roads you are seeing right now were just constructed to aid construction trucks and workers to access the construction site at the moment.Nice observation though.

When it comes to roads,Dodoma is no.1 or 2 in Tanzania.There is outer ring road construction,Middle Ring road under construction and inner ring road construction all are being dualling.

There are massive water projects in rural and urban, electrification in rural, hospitals in each ward, new primary, and high school in each ward, vocational colleges in each ward, massive construction of rural roads, massive construction of irrigation projects etc Tanzania leads Africa in macro and inclusive ecomy to it's people that's why you don't see prices fluctuations in Tanzania, unemployment rate is relatively low in Africa, people are not migrating to urban areas for greener pastures since essential amenities for them to prosper are already found in their rural localities, Dar is not over populated like other economic hubs in Africa compared to it's size, foods and rents prices and fairly cheap in Tanzania compared to other African countries

@@karyori69 The problem with Kenyans is the the unmatched obsession with skyscrapers. For you a well developed city means having skyscrapers. Don't act like the Internet does not exist in Kenya.You can Google Dodoma masterplan from the Dodoma city Authority website in relation to development of the city and the zoning itself. The limit to buildings going high is set at 14 floors and it is limited to only to two zones that is government city and ndejengwa investment area.

I see so many sagging power lines all over the city didn't the tanzanian government set up the horizontal infrastructure to address that issue? I hope the rest was done such as drainage and sewage system those are part of the horizontal infrastructure that aims at addressing the above issues. You don't just rush to set up buildings having not addressed the essence of modernity.

Remember Dodoma city is slowly being built by Tanzania's government not loans. What you are saying has been done in Magufuli government city which has headquarters for many government ministries and the real Capital of Tanzania. This place the government allowed these institutions to build their HQs first and then later after construction of Magufuli government city is complete, roads and all those mentioned will be constructed here. These roads you see were here even before these buildings were constructed and it was 5km from the old Dodoma city centre... This area is well surveyed for those infrastructures mentioned
