These tips are really helpful for fights and practicing it in creative. Having slow mechanics it can really help in thinking what to do in fights and controlling those fights easily and faster. Aiming and crosshair placement in these clips are the crucial points to when fighting as it allows you for good building and fighting like w-keying. W-keying in these clips also comes down to practicing fights which can get you better in fortnite. Getting down the basics can make you the best player there is in fortnite. ❤❤

I wouldn’t say fast mechanics are overrated, since they are still good in certain situations. But the thing is that a lot of players already have fast mechanics nowadays so mechanics alone isn’t going to set you apart. The real things that set regular players apart from pros is their aim, and their Good game sense ( smart decision making )

I never knew esport was this serious and not just building and shooting. Im a gamer myself with pretty good reaction times and fast thinking and problem solving but this is just crazy how these people can do the most insane things in milliseconds. Like thinking about what the opponent will do, what he should do, actually doing it and meanwhile being precise and always having the crosshair on the enemy even when theres a wall between them. Insane respect.

My son is naturally very good at FN BR, and I tried to explain it to my wife (who is completely clueless about gaming), it's like a game of chess but you have to make decisions at the 1/10 of a second and execute with your finger gymnastics... and, one mistake, you are done (unlike in a chess). I'm pretty terrible at BR no matter how much I train, and I honestly think that players who do well in BR are very mentally capable. If they apply this intelligence outside of the gaming world, they'll move mountains. While I don't encourage my son to pursue career in e-sports, I do think it is not just pew, pew... extremely intelligent game at a lightning pace.

@UldisBiz
@UldisBiz 11 ай бұрын
@@leechy1840 I'm not dissing their accomplishments, however, business-wise it is a pretty risky slippery slope where you have little control over the future of your business and largely depend on factors beyond your control. One of my clients (I run a marketing agency) is a Fortnite coach who's getting more recognition in YT and other platforms, and even he understands that Fortnite may not be here forever, so he has to build another more future-proof path. If you are young enough so your parents pay your bills and put food on your table, there's no reason why you can't start and succeed on this journey. I think that's why many kids are tempted to do that (and kudos to them). It is very different when you have a wife and kids to take care of right away. For instance, if I won $5,000 cash cup it would be nice, no doubt, but there's not much financial impact from that as I'd just pay bills for one month, and poof the money is gone. Building a successful streaming career NOW with all the tons of content out there is possible but it will take a lot of time and dedication. Not a sustainable path if you have bills to pay. All I'm saying, be prepared to not see a penny for years + understand the risks of losing it all due to circumstances beyond your control, and then make your decision. Realistic risk/reward assessment. In any case, good luck to you in anything you choose, I'm not here to steal your dreams. BTW, my son is very good at FN BR, and my wife yesterday asked if we shouldn't encourage him to go pro. I told her, we first needed to move to another country as our ping to the closest server is around 80 in the game. Plus, she'd have to agree that he's dedicating all his free time to FN...

I'm an old player by Fortnite standards and my biggest problem in FN BR is not that my mechanics are too slow (we play in public lobbies mostly) but that I can't track the opponent, I often feel lost under pressure and don't know the right decision for the particular situation. In Zero Builds I'm fairly competent for average difficulty. Jeez, BR is complicated.

@@TheUltimateNatural I personally chose to opt in for sessions with coach Zykoma twice a week. Within one month I'm further in my FN BR journey than in two years watching and learning from videos, and practising what I thought I should practice. It is not cheap but something to consider if you are like me, stuck playing like shit for a long time. In any case, good luck buddy, you'll get there. We're all different. Some people (like my son) "get it" quickly and it comes naturally to them, others (like me) need a lot of patience, time and guidance but I think anyone can really get to a decent level. I'm 48, my mind and finger gymnastics isn't as good as younger players, but with the right coaching I'm planning to become decent in 3-4 months, and in a year I'm sure I'll be able to play in Unreal. Cash cups and pro tournaments are not on my horizon, I don't have the hours and dedication to become a pro, just want to become a decent teammate for my son, who's killa in this game.

EVEN PROS DONT CARE ABOUT BIG FLASHY SWEATY STUFF. It would be wrong to say that pros are not sweats (just look at their combos lol) but the way they play when anything is on the line is nearly completely void of any triple edits or edit courses. Most players think you need to wear a certain skin and be able to edit 42 times in a row in order to Jill someone, but pros show just how little sweaty mechanics actually matter. If you want good mechanics, learn how to: 1. Take walls 2. Tarp (while still conserving mats) 3. Protect yourself from all angles (I.e. boxing up, double editing, etc. 4. Edit walls smart (not standing right in front of your window edits, for example.) And there you go. That’s the basics and most of what you need.

it should really be added that epic hates fast mechanics and has been trying to balance the game to make it less mechanical since season 5. theres purposely added delay when first selecting a building piece and then turbo building is capped to a specific rate to allow the odd bullets through your build. all this combined with server latency makes building slower and more inconsistent. shot gun pullout times were increased to nerf switching between shotgun and building and smgs were super buffed to shoot through turbo building. and then ofc they removed phase boost mechanics for no reason other than good builders could use them. so whats left is we have a fortnite where the person who wins is the one who sprays the other player first. what a surprise

I think what you're missing is that this is hardly skillful in the slightest due to the entire meta revolving around barrel-stuffing (or as people like to say to make it sound "skillful", "W-keying") and spraying. Nowhere here is long-range aim skill or strategic positioning and planning required, and the buffed slurp juice effectively means that you do not have to worry about taking damage, as it can all be negated in a matter of moments, and almost everyone is going to have them to replenish your stock in a competitive match. The buffs to build speed, and the slow removal of any form of delay (build, edit, etc.) over the years has changed the game in that internet connection trumps over skill, so it favors people that live in places where they can purchase high-speed internet. To add on top of this, builds now have much less health and take much more damage than before, effectively making them useless in protecting you, which is a direct result of the removal of build delay. As you can imagine, this has completely erased the original intention of building, and a huge part of what made Fortnite so unique at the time - you could strategically set up cover and create a FORT to use as good positioning each storm circle. Rather than having to time your moves, in which everyone would have the chance to match you regardless of if they have 60 ping or 0, and would come down entirely to skill, positioning, and aim, you now have to be the first person to clip into someone's builds and shove your gun in their face, compared to before, where you had to strategically position yourself, time & place your shots well, and use your building pieces as defensive cover rather than as an aggressive weapon. It hardly matters if you have a strategic position or if you rush into every fight you see these days, which, as said, is NOT skillful. If you look at any other successful competitive games, you'd see that favoring connection speed and aggressiveness with unbalanced items or weapons over strategy and TRUE skill _DOES NOT WORK_ in a competitive scene. For the long-term health of the game, and its competitive modes, this is incredibly bad, and even competitive players can tell that something is wrong (but not exactly what it is that's wrong, as you can tell by the incessant complaining on social media lol). You'd also see that a strong distinction between casual and competitive modes is incredibly important for the health of the game. Blurring the line between the two has only made this game less enjoyable for new players and people that do not wish to play competitively, and that is NOT good for the game, as we have progressively seen happen over the years. Less and less new & old players play BR, and many have left the game for that reason, as BR is the main selling point of Fortnite. Zero-Build has helped in raising those numbers slightly, but it doesn't work for long, as people start to realize that these core issues of Fortnite are present in both modes due to the lack of a strong distinction between modes. Zero-Build is, at its core and effectively, BR without building, which does not work as you can imagine lol. Just my two cents, and obviously it's a lot more complex than that haha.

Oh... and don't even get me started with people on high-end PCs playing on performance mode, lol. It removes a LOT of what people playing on normal settings see, making it extremely unfair for so many reasons.

they’re not overrated, it’s just that they’re overhyped. mechs aren’t something that should be the only thing you’re focusing on trying to improve, rather they should be used as a single tool in a big tool box for certain situations.

Fast mechanics aren’t overrated, it’s just people don’t know how to apply them correctly in comp. And second this dude at the beginning of the video is average mechanics lmao

You can easily say you don’t need fast mechs but Thomas has the best aim and crosshair placement which we can learn but his is supernatural

The only thing you need to compete is Game Sense, which is something that Goblin has, who is a ex Clash royale pro and had good tops when he moved to Fortnite.
