Stunning work love those shots. the F6 even now is a great camera and will always be the pinnacle of 35mm cameras and you do it justice along with a wonderful film stock one of my favourites - love to know what camera settings you had to get such fast action with a 160 ISO film. Well Done indeed.

Hi Richard, if I remember, the camera hovered around 1/250 or 1/500 sec at f5.6 or f8. It helped that it was a very sunny day. You need a shutter speed of about 1/2000+ or flash to actually "freeze" the wing movements. BTW, The video framerate on the Lumix G9 was 1080p/180 fps!

@@FilmPhotographyChannel THANKS so much for that info. I love this camera and I love film, but you have shown me the true potential of the camera and the film you used thats why I was so interested in how you did it - great stuff

Watching those little guys is better than TV!

@@FilmPhotographyChannel The problem is we also have a cat (blame the kids) and she's fast. So any bird table has to be hard to reach. :)

Also these feeders are a little high maintenance. You have to clean them and change the sugar/water mix every other day. They are also very aggressive towards each other (which is why it’s so entertaining) so I mounted two feeders. The feeders are about 7 feet from the floor but I’m sure a cat would have no problem getting up there. That being said, these little guys are lightning fast so the kitty probably wouldn’t get close!

great work, and results from an old professional set up, You had to have quick reflexes not knowing when she was going to fly away, like the way the bird starts to blurr away.

Thanks? I think? I shot the video and took the photos myself. BTW, the video was filmed with a Lumix G9 at 180fps and like I mentioned the stills were Portra, Nikon F6 with Nikkor 70-300mm VR.
