Great video - I'm having a FRSU tomorrow and am excited for the improvement in handling. It's been wayyyyy better since I fitted new shocks, tein springs and poly bushes all round. Side note - Did you get your alloys sprayed that colour, or did you buy them on the car like that?

Appreciate the feedback Andrew! And yes, I bought the car with those wheels - refurbed by the previous owner

I have orderd camberbolts negative 1.5° but i have a question does the tire ware on the inside??
@jsdriveway2 жыл бұрын
It actually evens out the tyre wear better than 0° camber. So because your wheel will sit with the tyre sat the inside having more of the contact patch when driving in a straight line, It means that when you do lean on the tyre when cornering, you don't end up wearing the outer tyre wall as quickly as you normally would if that makes sense? When cornering, you're putting the tyre under a lot of load (even when you're not pushing it) so this evens out the tyre wear on moth the inside and the outside. I hope this makes sense 😅😅😅

@@revlimiter2831 I have an lsd and camber bolts and it's epic. You will need an alignment doing after you fit them 👌🏻

Thanks for the video. Did TDI north say that other mods were recommended for FRSU? Mine doesn’t come with LSD standard and has standard suspension. Am wanting to slowly start improving the handling… any other handling mods you’d recommend as first mods also would be great 👍

They always recommend lowering springs for road use and refreshed shocks if the ones you have are shot or just going for the ultimate handling suspension upgrade and getting coilovers like I have! You don't need any other mods though to get an alignment, just make sure you have camber bolts and camber shims for the rear and you're set! The technician working on your car can then get a decent setup for toe and camber etc. It's an essential mod! Watch my vid on coilovers vs lowering springs - that has my full take on that subject. I'd also recommend rear Polybushing, engine inserts, GOOD tyres and I'd say a Rear Anti Roll Bar but honestly, after having the bushes done on the rear beam it may not be needed lool

Hi J was just wondering with regards to the rear camber bolts and shims where did you get them from and how do you know what size to go for prior to a visit at the workshop. I’m in the process of refreshing my car and will be going with tein flex z or ysr dps coilovers and would be looking to get a frsu and wheel alignment. Love the videos btw 🤝🏾

Hey man, So I had my car setup by TDI North about 3 years ago and they had a service for the alignment that supplied the parts. You can get shims and camber bolts from TEGIWA though - I believe mine are - 1.7 degrees camber on the rear of that helps? The TEIN Flex Z Coilovers are the ones to go for in my opinion, but either will still be a great increase in grip for sure! I appreciate the feedback too, always goes a long way!!

What camber do you get?
@jsdriveway2 жыл бұрын
I haven't got my camber setup yet since having coilovers on but what I had before was about 1.5/1.7 negative camber on the front and about 1.3 or so camber on the rear of I remember properly
