FAST Trains In and Around La Plata, Missouri - BNSF Marceline Subdivision

These are some compiled clips of some speedy trains from recent, and a bit ago. Most of the clips are from yesterday, 04/20/2024, but a few are archives from my camera roll. Without a doubt, seeing one of these flying intermodal trains roll down the tracks as the traction motors whiz by is one of the most exciting things to see while railfanning. Fast trains is something the trains do well on this section of BNSF's Southern Transcon.

Try the bridge over the tracks northeast of La Plata on Co Rd 316D, also known as Titan Ln. It's a great location!

How far is La plata from Mendon? Because I see railroad crossings similar to the one that made national headlines a year ago.

These are not the same crossings as the one from the derailment. The crossing you are seeing in this video that reminds you is Estate Pl just outside of Elmer, Missouri.

Hey KTRF I just subscribe to your channel but if I could give you a word of advice, you need to stand back about 50-60 feet away from the track cause with those fast running trains you can’t even tell what type engines they are and all you seeing is a blur of the cars I’m not knocking your videos or nothing could you got some good content, but try standing back a little further, and that way you can pan out on the trains as they go by but anyway a great video man and you stay safe out there
