Barry was biologically well into his 70s by that moment and if he used his speed again he could die, and using his speed to KO the guy would’ve done nothing as it was about to go off- so he prioritized trying to stop the machine instead of die because he KO’d the guy

Yea. Cisco left last season and Caitlin didn’t appear until the end of this episode. I miss the og trio, but to be fair, S8 has done a good job at establish the new characters like Chester and Alegra and this episode really eliminated that feeling of them being new/unfamiliar or out of place. It really feels like a new era now.
