are all 2x16 kits b* pcb with 8 layers or are there better options? i got myself f4-4000c16d-32gtzr and that stuff is horrid at overclocking. they are horribly unstable at even 4200 with stock timings and sometimes even crash on xmp on the z590 apex, but when i use two of my 4x8 f4-4000c17q-32gtzr kit i can run them 24/7 stable at 4533 16161636 280 65535, it's weird.

Is 1.4 VCCIO and VCCSA fine for daily use on a 9900k?
@c_cat0965
@c_cat0965 4 жыл бұрын
I will let Luumi answer you directly but also give you some of my input. 1.40 vccio and vccsa are both fine for coffee lake as a daily, both buildzoid and der8aurer told me this, technically 1.350 is safe as well from what boosted media told me, however buildzoid told me that someone from intel confirmed 1.40 vccio and vccsa are both fine as a daily. Der8aurer told me that safe vcore, vccio and vccsa are about the same for coffee lake because the cores and IMC are made of the same parts and components and therefore the safe voltages for these values are pretty much the same as well. vcore can go up to 1.420 technically, so 1.40 is supposedly safe as a max for vccio and sa. - I personally ran 1.40 sa and io for about a month, and 1.40 sa and 1.350 io for another month or so without any issues, I stepped it down because I want to be on the safe side and run those higher volts when I get a full custom water loop and maybe do direct die cooling. @luumi What I am wondering if 1.450 sa and io would be safe on a daily for coffee lake, like 9600k, 9700k, 9900k? what about samsung b-die? can it handle 1.55, 1.60, 1.65 as a daily? - I know people that run around these voltages but they normally only been running it for months and I rarely ever hear of people running it for years and it's usually at the lower end close to 1.50 if they do run higher than 1.50 if they haven't ran into any problems, another issue is that these people tend to upgrade their builds frequently. if these voltages are not safe, e.g 1.55, 1.60 or 1.65, where would you set the absolute limit for dram voltage on b-die? and is that safe for imc and b-die IC in the long run? I am running z390 godlike.

Which other kits have these updated PCBs? Or are these the same ones they use on the existing dual rank b-die kits with 3200 14-14-14 and 3600 16-16-16 timings? I know a few people who run flareX 2x16 3200 14-14-14 on AM4 and 1151v2 and those seem to be pretty good, they are also quite readily available in Europe... I do wonder what the addition of these higher end kits will do with the quality of those lower bin dual rank sticks though.

Hi Luumi i am currently testing the crucial 4400 on the Z390 dark.. will you ever try them ? i am bit disappointed... all timings go down like samsung b-die even lower some cases.. except Trfc of course.. but it is normal for hynix even the b-die.. the problem is they do not score very good.. . so far the best i achived is 4000 - 18 - 18 -36 1 T and 4266 - 19-19-42 2T, 100% stable.. tested on 2 different and good 9900KS... i am not sure but i feel that the 4000 kit at 1.35 is better basically at 4300 they stop working.. stable and at 4400 they do not even run xmp with auto settings, OS crash like immediately. (i know the main reason is due to being single channel) but other kit would have done some better though.
@nubbins70
@nubbins70 4 жыл бұрын
Luumi what IC would you recommend for pushing the new Zen 3 CPUs' IF limits, while maintaining decent daily timings performance, all while keeping heat down? I have two AM4 builds in small form factor cases (Cerberus and M1), and GPU heat takes a serious toll on the DIMMs in certain games such as CSGO, which is a seriously limiting factor for B-die as even my 1.42-1.43V profiles on 4Gb E-die and DJR run up to 50C. And thats with a NH-C14S blowing over everything. DJR sucks at MT/s and Rev.E is loose on timings, but would you say instability comes on instantly at 50C on B-die, or do I still have a little room to work with at 1.4-1.45? Otherwise that would just leave me with the less temp sensitive Rev.E

@@LuumiJuhani is 1.450 volts on sa and io for daily use safe using coffee lake, 9700k and Z390 godlike? What about running samsung b-die above 1.50 volts on the dram? I know some people run their b-die at 1.55 to 1.60, or sometimes even 1.650 dram voltage daily, what do you think of this and is it safe to run as a daily? would you do it? and will it damage or degrade the b-die IC and CPU IMC?
