Fastest coal train reversal ever at Barry?? 60084 in March 1997

The previous video in my collection showed Barry in July 2014 now we go back to 1997 for Transrails 60084 delivering its stock to the sidings at Barry ( now part of the Barry Tourist Railway site ). Reverses at speed into the station, then into the yard, light engine back to the station to collect 1 of the other 60s and then off to Cardiff. All on shaky VHS.

Some drivers used to be a bit fast through the track hopper at Aberthaw. Dropping a couple of extra HAA doors would slow them down a bit, well to a stop actually.

What a credit to the railway he was.... almost ripped the trian in half (a 60 is easily capable of it) then hurles it at speed backwards into the yard followed by a bit of driving from the wrong end during a shunt. Met a couple of drivers in south wales who could of done with a smack in the mouth rather than a job at the end of the day, shame really it left a stain on all the rest of them. The worst was driving a pacer at Newport who deliberately stopped 8 cars away from the crowd at the platform end purely because that's where the stop board was, and then told me "NFI" he didn't give a F##k - never forgot that scruffy arrogant bastard in 20 years and hope he had a SPAD the day after.
