Blimey! That was a fast one and snaking over der points. Great to see some vintage stuff, well almost! Even then I cannot look at either of the front ends of class 60 without seeing a grumpy olde' man...!

@@TheMichaelWilcock2016Railways I was looking out for a shunter galloping along, reminds me of the days when the shunters at Carmarthen Bay used to ride on a shunting pole. I never knew how they balanced.

Some drivers used to be a bit fast through the track hopper at Aberthaw. Dropping a couple of extra HAA doors would slow them down a bit, well to a stop actually.

They don't drive 'em like that any more!

How could the driver possibly see a thing? There didn't seem to be a shunter guiding him back

What a credit to the railway he was.... almost ripped the trian in half (a 60 is easily capable of it) then hurles it at speed backwards into the yard followed by a bit of driving from the wrong end during a shunt. Met a couple of drivers in south wales who could of done with a smack in the mouth rather than a job at the end of the day, shame really it left a stain on all the rest of them. The worst was driving a pacer at Newport who deliberately stopped 8 cars away from the crowd at the platform end purely because that's where the stop board was, and then told me "NFI" he didn't give a F##k - never forgot that scruffy arrogant bastard in 20 years and hope he had a SPAD the day after.
