With a turbo, all you need is to make sure the air going in isn't too hot and the exhaust is free-flowing. Since it's trailered and not driven it doesn't need an exhaust so the limit becomes fuel, internal engine strength and the turbo size. You can make a ton of power with stock engine, if you pay attention to what I just said and find a tuner who doesn't have a history of blowing up engines. The place NOT to cut corners is to who tunes your car or you can learn yourself.

It all comes down to new technology.... The clutch, the engine management, the suspension, and it’s a straight axle car on drag radials. With those key components of today’s tech, any engine combo that makes this kind of horsepower and torque will run these kind of numbers. It will become a more common thing now that drivetrain technology and tunning software has caught up with just making big horsepower. Yes, this comment is a few days late... @@ramlaen9473 No one said it would make a half second difference, unless I'm missing something. But with faster times comes higher trap speeds. Atmospheric pressure @ sea level is 14.7 lbs per square inch. This has a direct effect on the engine because atmospheric pressure increases cubic inches every time it reaches another atmosphere. I ran my 1985 GPz 750 at 52 psi at the intake valve. Never ever take your boost pressure any place else because boost pressure matters most at the valve face NOT THE WASTE GATE. The intake charge going into the manifold does not flow straight down the pipe it swirls like a tornado. By straightening the intake charge coming off the turbo your boost pressure will start to compress on top of itself and you will find yourself needing stiffer valve springs. I had Vesra make me a set because back in the 80s no one had springs with the pressure I needed. I was making 400 hp touching the ground with an 810cc Kawasaki on C16 back in 85. In comparison to the LT1 in your car thats around 2500 hp. Its capable I just dont think you have figured it out yet.
