@shawcraft12 жыл бұрын
Oh, yay! I hope it's working out wonderfully for you! I have the easiest chili recipe ever! Here it is ... 2 cans chili beans, 2 cans diced chili tomatos, 1 can tomato sauce, 1 lb ground beef browned with onions mixed in, 1 package chili seasoning. Put them all in your pot and simmer for about an hour! Easiest, quickest chili you'll ever make. I add cheese, fritos, diced onion, and sour cream to my bowl with a little verde salsa and it's the absolute best! I call it chili frito pie and my kids always loved having it for supper. My hubby adds jalapeno's to his. It's perfect for a quick meal. If you need to eat it on the go, just get yourself some serving size fritos bags, add it all in to the bag and throw in a disposable spoon and go go go!

Just FYI, I found out just by accident when I dyed too much paper at once that if you separate the paper with paper towels and just lay the stay on the racks that it dries in twice the time. I am new to this and this may be known to others already but just my 2 cents worth. Love the videos!!!

Hi I know this is an older video, but I like your style. Love this technique! When I tried it using plain printer paper, I wound up with lengthwise wrinkles. Not sure what I did wrong. I thought I'd be able to iron the wrinkles out, but they were really "set in" by the time the paper dried. Oh, I let the paper air dry since it is so hot where I live. I'm going to give it another try though because it really is fast!!!!
@shawcraft16 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I get the wrinkles too, but I just think it adds to the character of the page so I still use them! hopefully, you will get better results next time. try spreading your paper out a little more if you can, or even rearrange it in the pan every now and then, maybe that will prevent the wrinkles?
@bettylongshore95946 жыл бұрын

Great tips! How do you make your own sprays? I did my first try at coffee dying and drying in the oven the other day. In an hour I had made enough paper to do one junk journal. I knew this wasn't time efficient, especially when my energy is very limited. So I'm glad you showed this way! I did start laying two papers per pan and I baked at 250. But I kept wondering , if I was in the kitchen, why did I have to bake at such a low temp? I was steadily moving, making a pan and putting it in the oven, making another, putting it in, etc. I had 7 pans going on my 3 oven racks. I'm wondering what would happen if you put that pan of paper that is stacked in the oven after you pour off any loose coffee. I'm all about making something faster! LOL Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
@shawcraft17 жыл бұрын
Leslie, I will try to do a tutorial on making the sprays. I broke my tripod tonight, so I'm going to have to order another one, but I will do the tutorial as soon as I can. I have put the whole pan full in the oven before. You just have to check them often and pull from the bottom up so they don't burn. But they come out just fine that way too!
@ClareCreationsAL7 жыл бұрын

@shawcraft13 жыл бұрын
I do both! I check the papers to see if they're dry. If they aren't all dry, I may pull the racks out and take out the dry ones and put the wet ones back in. Sometimes, if just the top ones are dry, I will snatch them out with bare hands but be careful not to burn yourself! Ask me how I know, lol

How do you get the smell of coffee out of the paper
@shawcraft1 Жыл бұрын
I don't! I actually love the smell, so I leave it. I find that once it sits for a while, it tends to lose the smell but I don't mind it. You could try to let it air out in the outdoors, or put it on a plastic bag in the freezer with a bit of baking soda in it. I do that when I have an old book that smells bad. It generally helps.

Hi, I’m brand new to journaling. How long do you leave the paper in the oven baking?
@shawcraft14 жыл бұрын
It's according to what you have your oven set on. I put mine on 350 and stand right there with it and check it about every 2 minutes, but you have to watch it closely to make sure it doesn't burn. You can also heat your oven to about 250 and check it every 5 minutes or so. You just have to kind of gauge it according to how your own oven heats.

hi there, thank you for sharing your process. I am a little curious though about the idea of this being faster than other methods because you talk about letting this sit overnight - 2nights. How is that faster than other methods? still a great video and interesting idea either way :)
@shawcraft16 жыл бұрын
I don't think I said it was faster, it's just the way I do it and it's fast for me. You don't have to leave it in there for 2 nights, or even a night. The point was, you can leave it sit as long as you need to until you have time to get back to it and you don't have to spend a whole day dedicated to coffee dying paper. It's simply just a way to multi task and get coffee dying done while you are doing other things as well.
