Been fasting daily until 5 for 6 years. I feel better than when I was a kid and dropped 40 lbs within 3 mos of starting. Granted, a lot of that weight accumulated during my time on birth control, but it does help rapidly and dramatically.

If you removed the processed grains and high starch/high glycemic vegetables and fruit from a Vegans diet you would badically have the foundation of fasting and why vegetables that are high in fiber are so beneficial. They are low in nutrients by weight and high in fiber. Perfect fasting foods.

Or, do a search & get some recipe ideas for 2 or 3 different soups if you need more variety. I do a kind of minestrone soup, without the pasta. MUCH more easier the budget. Think about big bags of frozen veggies & homemade stock from produce scraps from fresh onions & garlic etc!❤ I'm a sale shopper, so I take advantage of the discounted produce & I am BLESSED to have a freezer stocked with organic herbs n spices( because of bulk buying them when a local store went out of business.)😂🎉😂 Good Luck on your Health Journey and STAY BLESSED!❤

Dr. Greger, I'd like to ask you about something that's trending on the longevity websites: GlyNac: taking glycine and N-acetal- cysteine together so your body can produce glutathione. In particular, is too much cysteine bad for you. I understand they give it in emergency rooms for mushroom poisoning, but how much is too much. Some of the Bro Science guys suggests several grams a day. I understand that it might convert to methionine which I think we'd rather avoid to prevent cancer.

If you are into fasting you have to read: Beyond Hunger: Exploring the Depths of Fasting by "Alexander Bennett ·.. ITS SERIOUSLY LIFE CHANGING!!!" apart from other books on fasting is Bennett's ability to blend rigorous scientific research with heartfelt personal anecdotes. From the very beginning, it is evident that the author's knowledge stems from a genuine passion and extensive study in the field. His meticulous approach is evident as he guides readers through the physiological processes that occur during a fast, exploring the intricacies of autophagy, metabolic flexibility, and the rejuvenation of cells. Yet, Bennett skillfully avoids overwhelming readers with complex jargon, presenting the information in a digestible and engaging manner. While rooted in science, "Beyond Hunger" transcends the purely physical aspects of fasting, delving into the profound mental and spiritual benefits that await those who embark on this transformative journey. Bennett eloquently discusses the psychological challenges that may arise during a fast and offers practical strategies for overcoming them. Furthermore, he shares inspiring stories of individuals who have experienced extraordinary spiritual awakenings through extended fasting, encouraging readers to explore the depths of their own consciousness. This is turning into a looong post haha but seriously amazing amazing book.. has changed my life. One of the book's greatest strengths lies in Bennett's unwavering commitment to presenting a holistic perspective on fasting. He addresses common misconceptions and dispels myths surrounding the practice, ensuring readers have accurate information to make informed decisions about their own fasting journeys. From intermittent fasting to extended water fasts, Bennett covers a wide range of fasting methods, tailoring his advice to suit individual needs and goals. not merely a guidebook but a transformative experience in itself. Bennett's writing style is both captivating and accessible, making it easy for readers of all backgrounds to connect with the material. The author's deep empathy and genuine desire to help others on their fasting journeys shines through every chapter, fostering a sense of trust and camaraderie.

@tiagomoraes1510 nope...no matter how healthy the animal is, it's still unhealthy for humans to consume other animals. We are not carnivores...if we were, we'd have 6 inch canines and a very short digestive track. We also would eat the dead animal raw, not cooked. And it's the enzymes and proteins, not just the fats and toxins that are unhealthy.
