I am starting to work with youth pitchers and was taught hello elbow growing up. All of your videos have been INSANELY HELPFUL to learn the whip and be able to teach it. You do a great job of explaining and breaking things down, thank you!

I actually like opening as early as possible. Key is to get front shoulder and elbow at target just as if you are throwing overhand. This allows for more hip power from the back hip during separation point at delivery. I'll admit I am a rise/drop (lots of spin) mid 60s pitcher. I like your front of pitch and coming out with the front knee and not foot. I like your whip. Separation is not talked about enough these days. Well done! Lots of great stuff here. Good video :).

@@stacydunn7647 I’ve found that opening early creates a ton of mechanical issues. Postural issues, arm path issues, and it almost always creates leaping, crow hopping or drag foot collapse, all of which lead to problems with speed and command. The only pitch where you can kind of successfully open early is a screwball, which is why I don’t teach them a lot. Separation is definitely key but I’ve found that 99.9% of the time when pitchers open too early they never get that separation either they just remain open

Hi. I am new to coaching softball pitching. Your videos are super helpful. Do you have a link for a video on the release or wrist snap. Not sure what to call it. My pitcher tends to miss really high. Any help is much appreciated.

Please tell me about spin! I see different videos on every pitch except basic fastpitch. Is there a spin? I am guessing it rotates to the catcher? But it feels like spin should be going toward your body, but is thumb supposed to spin away?

I’m a loner myself, I LIKE TO NERD OUT ON STUFF and have been utilizing your classes to “perfect” my swing for Pickleball, the drop elbow is legit, power k, it really takes a load off the shoulder. I WISH YOU THE BEST OF SUCCESS!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

ok so at reach stage you DO want to come up with that knee and reach out? My daughters coach that teaches this method was saying not to come up. They call this method something different but essentially it's this same method. She said my daughter was putting too much on coming up and not attacking the plate. She said just shoot straight towards the cather like a sprinter. So IDK I'm confused.

How do I tell what is best for my daughter? Sometimes she starts by taking her glove and ball up over her head… sometimes she goes into a backswing from there, sometimes she takes her glove/ball over to the side with no backswing… can’t decide on a motion that better

My daughter is a pitcher and a sophomore in high school. pushes the ball from power K , is it too late to change to a pull down? Palm up.

Do you have an email I can send a message to you? I taught my daughter to pitch but then her dad and step mom taught her a different way to stand and now she a has shin splints in her right leg. I was just wondering if there’s anyway that I can send you a video of how she stands versus how I told her to stand, which is how you have taught people to stand in your videos.

My daughter is 8, just starting pitching… how can I determine what the best pre-motion will be for her?
@FastpitchPower Жыл бұрын
every pitcher is different and needs to find what works for them. They need to feel loose and relaxed while also building momentum. As long as they get to the correct end stage load position they can really do whatever they'd like, I do have a video somewhere on KZbin called "load positioning with examples" that you could check out

Are you suppose to get soar when you pitch?

Yes. 💥 movement. Can be taxing.

I watched a video done my hikaru madsuda (japanese mens pitcher) and he said the your right leg should be more towards 1st and that you should brush you leg. So could you tell me why you say we shouldn't do that? thanks and God bless edit: here is the link to the video i watched kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJbRpaaajt2EfKM
