Yup! That's why moving forward whenever I date we have to do an actual activity. Eating can't be the activity, I can eat anytime! If you start dating in the summer you'll go to all the bbq fests, state fairs, carnivals, bar crawls, and every event that will quickly pork you up!

@@DariaKropop I think the appeal for them is a woman that isn't neurotic about her weight, so she can enjoy herself and be seen eating without issue, but also is balanced enough to not put on an unhealthy amount of weight. I can't say that's a bad goal to have for both a partner and oneself.

The question you should ask yourself is why are you choosing to date men who "love a woman...until she gains weight." Most of the population is overweight or obese. This has been going on for over a decade. There is no indication that there was a sharp decline in people dating, having sex or marrying because men refuse to be near big women. I live in one of the top fattest cities in the US & I see couples all the time where the woman is big. The two things holding back big women from finding a man who loves them as they are....are their own insecurities and wilfully choosing wrong men. Work on yourself and your choices get better.

Also on binge eating, my ex boyfriend was so so fit. Like ripped, BUT he definitely had a slight binge eating disorder. But no one would ever know because he had a fast metabolism, conventionally attractive physique and worked out like crazy. And even when people kinda did know or suspect it, it was more funny or almost endearing but only because he was physically fit and nice to look at. But he definitely hated it because it would make him feel terrible the next day, or physically sick and vomiting.

Jsyk the whole "fast metabolism" thing is kind of a myth. Bigger people actually have faster metabolisms than smaller people.
@GlitterSpitters101

@@t3hpenguinofd00m if fast metabolism is a myth, how can some people eat thousands of calories a day with no exercise while still being skinny? What's the alternative explanation? (I'm asking genuinely bc I am one of these people and I wanna know how it works)
@t3hpenguinofd00m
@t3hpenguinofd00m Жыл бұрын
@@GlitterSpitters101 the short answer is that they can't. That's a bit of an oversimplification, but for the purposes of this discussion it's broadly true. What people describe as "fast" or "slow" metabolism is, in most cases, a problem of faulty perception. Humans are really, really bad at gauging their caloric intake. Like, basically all of us are. We all have this tendency to fall into deep, unconscious habits around routine activities generally, and especially so when it comes to very primal behaviors such as eating. We all spend so much time on autopilot that it's genuinely very hard to keep track of what we're even doing, and that makes it easy for fat to materialize or dematerialize as if by magic. We furthermore have a tendency to generalize our own behaviors to the world at large, assuming that our specific habits are "normal" or typical even when they very clearly aren't. Then there's the problem of social eating, which makes it yet more difficult to gauge how your eating habits compare to other people's. You can't see what other people are doing when you're not around, and you're barely even conscious of what you yourself are doing on a day-to-day level. This lack of clear and reliable data makes it very easy to extrapolate things incorrectly, and this is how otherwise sensible people come up with statements like "she's constantly eating and never gains a pound," or "I only have to look at a donut and I gain weight." That's the long and short of it. Biology is very complicated and there are a million factors that go into keeping people fat or thin, some of which really are mostly or completely outside of the individual's control. But most of what people attribute to "metabolism" is just bad record-keeping and confirmation bias.
@plumdutchess
@plumdutchess Жыл бұрын
@@GlitterSpitters101 People who eat thousands of calories don't stay skinny. People think those people eat so much, but are you with them 24/7? A big meal might be the only thing they eat that day. Also, studies have found that doing micro movements during the day helps burn extra calories. And people who are "naturally skinny" tend to do more of those. Think of just sitting less, standing up from seats more, even wiggling your legs while sitting burns more than sitting still. All these combined can account for hundreds of calories a day. Just enough to burn of a few extra snacks.

I know someone who doesn't have a medical degree nor is she an expert in nutrition science but she's helped people lose weight in healthy ways. She spent years aggregating information on weight loss and weight gain. I'm willing to bet she knows more about the science of weight loss/gain than the average general physician/practitioner (this doesn't include doctors who specialize in weight loss). Sometimes it's the ones without medical degrees who help people more because they have more to prove. Having a medical degree doesn't mean much when it comes to weight loss bc even doctors are stumped on how to help their patients lose weight or they give them the typical advice "eat less and move more," when there's so much more to it than that! Sometimes doctors also give bad advice or recommend something like Ozempic which only puts a bandaid over the problem but doesn't address the root cause(s) of it.

I was overweight in high school and I was miserable. I was using food as medication and comfort, binging in secret, yo-yo dieting. I didn’t want to be a supermodel, I just wanted to be within a normal weight (US size 8 was my ideal size). I had to go to therapy for binge eating and see a nutritionist. I decided to follow through and take responsibility. I stopped dieting and stopped my food addiction. I started exercising and respecting my body. The weight slowly came off. I was no longer binge eating or abusing food. Now at 35 I’m a US size 4/S and I exercise daily and eat whatever I want (today I had a chocolate croissant and small cafe latte, for lunch I had fish and crispy potatoes, and for dinner a vegetable quinoa bowl with a chocolate brownie for dessert). And this way I stay the same size. I’m so glad I changed my ways when I was a teen so I could be where I am today.

YESSS. I've heard, you can love your body and still want to change it.. Being overweight sucks. Having PCOS makes it so hard ugh. At every turn it seems like "lose weight" is the universal solution to reversing PCOS symptoms but the disorder literally causes hormone imbalances and insulin resistance that makes it incredibly easy to gain weight and so much harder to lose it 😅 I have been working out doing kickboxing 2-3 times a week (and 1-2 additional gym days)for nearly 5 years and my doctors are suprised when I tell them yes I do work out consistently, I get 1-3 miles in a day and I meal prep my lunches and some dinners... sometimes its more complicated than calories in and calories out. Hormones, genetics, sleep pattern, stress management and mental health all contribute to one's body composition and weight. On the plus side (no pun intended) my lab work came back all stable this last week and I'm finally shedding some weight albeit super fuckin slowly 🥲 to anyone trying to lose weight rn, I'm rooting for you, this shit is harddd. Best of luck 💜

Yeah PCOS sucks but there are still ways to lose that weight, it’s more difficult tho. I exercise 3-4 times a week and I’m still obese because it was easier for me to go to the gym than watch my diet and you cannot outexercise bad diet unfortunately. This year I’m focusing on nutrition tho. I hope you will be successful and I’m happy about your labs !! Thank you 🤍🤍

Binge eating is a very hard thing to gain control over, and many people never fully do. I've learned not to overly beat myself up when I sometimes slip on my diet, and to just accept that its something that will happen from time to time, and I just need to focus on getting back on track right away. I think the reason I struggled so much with it in the past is because I would be doing great for a while, then have a bad relapse and feel like a complete failure... which would leave me to give-up on myself. Losing weight, when you are overweight because of binging, is truly an act of self-love and caring, and I had grown up being told I was not worthy of love. My binge triggers have always been sweets, and I find that fasting has really been helping me keeping them at bay! Its an efficient way to kick your blood insulin down and get rid of the physical part of the addiction to sugar.
@DariaKropop
@DariaKropop Жыл бұрын
I agree 100%. What all the people who suffer from binge eating have in common is the all or nothing mentality, we will do very well and then have one slip up and that's it- I'm a failure , the diet is over and instead of getting back on track right away we punish ourselves with more food and we are saying its ok the diet will start tomorrow. that's a vicious cycle

I moved from Europe to Canada for 1,5 years about 6 years ago and gained about 20kg. Since I‘m very tall I didn‘t look suuuuper overweight, but obviously one could tell I was. I slowly lost it over the next 3 years that followed and I have to say-I‘ve never felt as bad in my body as I did during that time. Even though I wasn‘t overweight for a super long time, I still hated every single moment of it. Boys I dated before started to treat me bad and after I‘ve lost the weight they started talking to me again. Especially the looks I got from people on the streets and when I looked at myself in the mirror sucked. Obviously weightloss isn‘t just about physical appearance but also about the psychological changes your mind goes through. To everybody who is currently trying to loose weight-I know it‘s hard but it‘s really worth it in the end! You‘ll feel way better mentally and will most likely feel better in your body as well. Not saying everybody should loose weight, but I know from so many people that felt better afterwards 🙏🏼 just do what makes you happy 💛

This is very important! I think the experience of someone who was and now isn’t overweight shoes it how it really is. I can’t wait to see it

I think the most important thing is that if you want to loose weight you REALLY have to want it. Loosing weight is pretty hard and takes a lot of control over what you eat and how much movement you can get, but trust me when I say this: you will most likely feel like a whole new person afterwards 🫶🏻 I wish you the best on your weightloss journey and I‘m excited to see updates! Keep going, you got this! Oh and a very important side note to everybody in my opinion: don‘t try crazy or extreme diets-they don‘t get you anywhere in the long run. Slow and steady is the way to go-implementing more and more healthy changes to your everyday lifestyle will get you way further in a much more sustainable way and the chances of giving up are way lower! 🙏🏼

@ᴀᴛᴀʀᴀxʏ 🪐 Since I‘m not a certified nutritionist I would highly recommend visiting a professional who can help you with meal plans etc. Normally I‘d say it helps eating three normal meals a day - I always had breakfast between 8-9am, lunch between 12-1pm and dinner between 5-6pm, which really helped me with sticking to a routine. But since you‘ve unfortunately suffered from an ed before I think it would be best to get in touch with an expert in that kind of field 🫶🏻 Sorry I can‘t help you any more than that, but I don‘t want to make things worse! Hope you‘ll feel better soon! 🤍

It is so refreshing to see someone speak the real truth and none of this 'body positivity fat and happy' rubbish. I was obese as a child, teenager and into my 20s, lost loads of fat during my early 20s and haven't been obese since. But I will never forget how I felt when I was fat - and that's what keeps me slim now. I'll never go back to feeling that uncomfortable, that disgusting, seeing rolls and my double chin, clothing only digging in and having to wear cardigans in the middle of summer. I've been in the gym for the last year and at 37 I'm only NOW wearing sleeveless tops because I've always hated showing the tops of my arms. Thank you so much for this video. I love when you said you can love your body at any size, but you should love it enough to change it. Being fat isn't loving your body, I think it's quite the opposite. I lost about 35lbs during the lock downs for COVID and it was most definitely a soda problem for me. I started working out and only drank water and since then I've returned to a healthy weight BMI (5,10" - 159lbs). My parents always fed me healthy whole foods and because of that I was skinny during my childhood and I think that's why it was so easy for me to lose the weight. Some of my friends who have only ever eaten unhealthy high calorie meals their whole life struggle really hard to lose weight because they have never eaten low calorie healthy foods as a child. I think it matters what the eating situation is in your household and how you were brought up. I don't have a ton of self control, but the way I keep the weight off now is just by not buying chips and cookies at all from the grocery store otherwise I would demolish them lol.

Yes, it is uncomfortable to be fat! I was having a harder time sitting comfortably with the belly in front. Pants are more uncomfortable. Because of gaining weight and pregnancy, I haven’t worn jeans in 2 years. The double chin makes it more uncomfortable to lounge in bed. Luckily I’ve lost a good amount of weight in the last 1.5 months, and these symptoms are a lot less prominent or annoying now. Walking feels better and I can go faster. I just have to lose a little more weight and I will be out of the obese range. I fit into some of my old jeans now, but don’t really want to wear them, and obsessed with my comfy leggings now lol. This is real talk not toxic positive thinking. I've managed to get obese again. Ugh. I hate it. I'm in the beginning stage of losing again. I"ve manage to find a way of eating that I'm continually losing, not a pound a week but the scale is consistently going down, not up. Yay! Back to real talk vs. toxic positivity: I used to do EFT and the process is to say the negative thing along with expressing love for yourself anyway. I need to start doing that again. For example, tap on EFT points while saying things like this: "Even though I have sweaty fat rolls, I love, honor, and accept myself anyway. Even though I always eat too much, I love, honor, and accept myself anyway...." I need to make notes of all the rude things I've been saying to myself lately and create a tapping script for myself. Thank you for this video.

What I would add to this list is excessive sweating when it's hot and the fact I always have to wear shorts (and even then it's sometimes uncomfortable) because in dresses my thighs would irritate from rubbing. That was not the case when i was 20kgs lighter. What I also noticed is that shoes I used to wear also irritate my feet more, I would go miles in the same sandals before I gained weight and now it's a few km and i have literally wounds on my feet. I am on a diet now and your videos motivate me to stay focused, because I don't want to be a prisoner, I want to wear and do whatever I want and feel comfortable and I just hate being fat.

They are generally in their 20s, maybe 30s, but revisit these people in their 40s and 50s, they are in for a rude awakening. I just hope they don't convince others, esp. younger people, not to worry because lives will be ruined and shortened with this incorrect philosophy that you can maintain health at any size. it catches up to you. I'm 54, I learned the hard way. 75lbs down now though and have been weaning off meds (very low carb is best for me as a binge eater/carb & sugar addict).

A big societal issue that most people don't realize that they do is the subconsious assumption that other people eat either the same amount or more than themselves and that other people are either as active or less active than themselves. This is why most people don't notice when someone has an eating disorder. Another problem is the assumption that being fat always is caused by eating and exercise habits. There are a good number of genetic medical conditions that make it so most people (mostly people assigned female at birth) can not lose weight without certain kinds of hormone therapys and medical procedures. You can live a very healthy life and that fat will not go away. The majority of people who give you "advice" about your weight are not dieticians or doctors or even know anything about your medical situation at all. They may have heard or read some stuff about certain kinds of diets but they have no idea if you could have something like lipedema that can not be fixed by diets and exercise alone. Despite what people might say, most of these people are actually pro-eating disorders. The restrictive suggestions and the harmful comments even when you are being healthy and active do give the impression that what they really think you should do is not eat and workout constantly and if you can't get the weight off fast enough that you are clearly doing it wrong.

I've been overweight my entire life I'm 62 now. I weigh less now than I did in Junior high thanks to very low carbs and intermittent fasting.The weight is a symptom not a cause. There are various causes and contributing factors including society being programmed to hate those with the issue. I think the nurse you mentioned was giving good advice about low carbs and was trying to help in my opinion. I have had and seen others regain health and lose weight doing low carb, keto, carnivore and ketovoire. I would suggest checking out Dr.Ken Berry and his Wife Neisha along with Dr.Berg and Dr. Fung all here on KZbin. I think many many people are being helped thru low carb and intermittent fasting. Also there are many people with KZbin channel that healed themselves thru this way of eating. Just try it. Oh by the way I still have an occasional emotional binge...I had one last week. I get my mind right and carry on to reach my goals...you can do it too!

I love hearing this because finally I can relate to someone. I developed hypothyroidism (which is a condition where thyroid hormones are not secreting as much and so metabolism is much slower and for some people even almost non existent) I also have pre-diabetes. So unfortunately I have to eat one meal a day and exercise extensible to lose like 1 ib a week. It's possible, but it is much harder for me compared to someone who does not have these conditions. I'm grateful that at least I still somewhat have a metabolism and can lose something instead of less than a ib. But it is still hard. It is true that people need to shut the fuck up lol. Stop judging, you don't know what they're going through, can be so many things why someone is fat and not just laziness..

People rather have bariatric surgery and take a pill to lose weight instead of making healthy food choices and WORKOUT! Geeze, it's not that complicated and since I used to be fat and knew I made the choice to be that way by what I ate and not exercise so I don't feel any compassion or sympathy for heavy people. I used to be that person. There's absolutely no reason you can't do simple exercises and choose a salad instead of fried food.

It's very simple. I got to a point where I knew if I let this go on I would be on my 600 lbs. life. You have to realize you get to a point where you know you need to do something about it. Fat people lie when they say they are happy being fat. That's a huge lie. It's scientifically proven being fat makes you depressed and physically sick. You are happy when you're fit and healthy. Why do you think there are so many body transformation videos of people that were fat and lost weight and have a brand new outlook on life and changed their diet to nutritious rich foods and exercise. With 150 lbs to lose, it's a daunting task and I've lost hope along that journey many times and lost all that progress in the process. I would give anything to only have to lose 30 or 40 lbs cuz I could do that! But 150 lbs is just so daunting and that really affects the journey in a way thin people will never understand.

You can loose it. I was a binger i know the struggles but i am treathing my food struggles as an alchooholic does. Food is just fuel that is all. I stopped eating food for comfort. You can do this to. I never counted calories i lost the weight in one year, it was that easy. The weight melted. I just avoided sugar that year and bread, no cheat days. Exercise i added after i lost 20 kg.

I did have an arm trauma and thank god it wasn’t broken (reason because I fell on my back arm)but I was in severe pain. After my doctor has seen the x ray results he requested a blood test for A1c ( my blood glucose for the past 3 months). The result was my a1c is literally slightly just 0.1 m/mole lower than it should be and I’m considered overweight based on bmi (my bmi is 28)and I’m not diabetic :/ if I was thin he would suggested me to eat more because my sugar levels are slightly lower than it should! Most of lab tests are just numbers people are just different we have different genetics if I try to lose weight I have to starve myself because I don’t eat much at all. And I have never been lower than 70 kg it’s impossible for me I literally have to starve myself to do. I weight now 82 my comfort weight is 80/81 where I feel really comfortable physically and mentally.

But for me the important thing has been to stop letting life go by saying I'll wear something once I'm thin or do something once I'm fit. I want to accept and be okay trying my best to be healthier tomorrow not necessarily thin. Life is now whether you're fat or thin. I think it's unfair that just because people can tangibly see a negative thing about you... it's easy for them to say mean things and give unsolicited advice. I mean does anybody do that to someone with a mental illness or a personality issue? Do they? That's why it is so unfair that it is out there for the world to see we can hide it like other weaknesses. And about the mean comments, people are going to make it if they can. That is just how they are. Not just about fat.. in general. No point in waiting for people to be nice or change them. The best way to free yourself from the trap is accept people and don't give a shit. Have better things to give a shit about. Always remember, you're more than just fat. It sucks but it is important to remember that especially in a world that doesn't help you feel good.

Another thing is that in Eastern Europe (where I’m from) the skinny ideal is still prevalent. Here in the UK everything it is much more relaxed (you have a Polish sounding surname, you might know what I am talking about 😅). And I managed to heal, normal eating is no longer a challenge for me, but the thing that helped me was not diet or fitness bootcamp, but therapy.

Yet I hear eating when depressed is a thing. I guess we assume a lot. People will always judge the addicted. I try to get help for my diet soda addiction due to the money it cost. I get no help. I also hear many heavy people say health care providers do not take you seriously. Health care does not take women seriously. It has nothing to do with size. If you were small. Your ills would be all in your head…especially pain. I know cause I have seen it for years on the daily.

Yeah it’s a super complicated issue, I honestly wish I would not eat when I’m stressed I always eat my feelings :/ I think with doctors it’s like a double thing you are woman and they ignore your pain and also you are fat so just lose weight and you will be fine :/

So, so tired of the "fat people are lazy trope". Like we are all like the worst cases they find and put up on reality shows.

@@DariaKropopright! I know my diet isn't the best, but it's probably about average or slightly better since I don't drink soda or coffee and I pack my lunch for work so I'm not going through the drive through everyday.

Mukbangs are the BIGGEST slap in the face regarding our relationship with food. You're allowed to eat all the greasiest, sauciest, creamiest, fattiest, crunchiest, sugary foods but as long as you don't gain any weight, you're in the clear. The relationship that developed nations have with food is so unsettling and unfair. Because some people can indulge without any visual repurcussions, but if those repurcussions show up on you then it's your fault. I'm gonna call a lot of skinny people out when I say, "I know you're starving yourself. I know you're eating in secret. You're not doing anything special. No weird diets, no exercise regimen, no real lifestyle change. You're just starving yourself and are willing to starve to just not be fat." You hear it all the time when you're around skinny friends about how it's some kind of competition to see who ate less and who can consume the least amount of calories. "Oh, I don't remember the last time I ate. I think it was a handful of almonds and half a granola bar." "Me? Oh I had a cup of coffee and the other half of a sandwich I didn't finish yesterday." The one who eats the most like a baby bird wins.

I have never seen any mukbangs but I assume people just spit it out and edit it out , it’s impossible Yeah I think some of the people just have different appetite and hunger cues than others. I just hate when they say they wouldn’t be able to eat that much, like shut up
