@cameronmartin86785 жыл бұрын
@nunofyaeezwax yeah, i hope they are great, and not just because i have bought a pair. So far they have had very good communication, their product looks good, but they really need to start getting them into people like bardwells hands before everyone buys the hdo2's. Wont matter if they are better if everyone already bought the new fatsharks. Fortuantely i was an early backer, so the price wasnt too bad, but they are a bit steep, so they really need to deliver, and soon.
@RR1235 жыл бұрын
@nunofyaeezwax Indeed, it seem like people like monopoly, half-assed reused design and just buying from the same company until they can't justify their excuse for profit margin, etc. I really want both company to survive, but I want them to actually innovate and right now, only Orqa is doing that with the proper premium options and FPV.Connect will be awesome. The HDO2 will not see any kind of upgrades, there is no expansion! So they just copied the original specs from Orqa before they dropped the focus adjustment, but without any cool HD DVR, etc. Fanboys, you're right... I don't get it either, but next week I'll be using my Orqa I guess and they'll be trying to save 50$ (maybe) to get something that is just a copycat. Oh well...

I'm waiting for my Orqa next week and I'll not be missing out from this panicked copycat effort. I also think it's unfair to say the Orqa are late: sharing your product roadmap openly is not being late nor is showing up secretly with a product is being on time... in any case Orqa are shipping this week. Also, the HDO2 are not matching or exceeding the FPV.One, like the text below the video says, the DVR is crap, their isn't an expension bay for wireless transmission, the design is the same and they didn't take time to update it, they basically rushed it to match the original announced Orqa specs which have changed since then (dropping the focus adjustment for those outside the +2,-6 btw). That said, competition is great! I'm happy FatShark is doing SOMETHING (buttons, seriously?) but what we really need at this point is a standard HD format to feed all those HDMI plugs! One that can be made by multiple vendors without license keys or whatnot. The alternative is that DJI will lock us up in DRM hell...

Josh. Thank you for all you do. In the past I used multiple youtubers reviews on FPV products and for a year now you have just been ahead of your time.your gopro assisted side by side screen review I think was the turning point and as pictures say 1000 words you back it up with 1000 words and they are right on the money with what most of us are thinking and reassure us of our thoughts aiding in where my money should go. So as it stands you are my hands down goto guy for reviews. Mr Steel is my favorite pilot but in the real world you get the vote on info any of can actually use. this year alone the amount of new and better products has been mind boggling and Ive just banned buying anything till the market slows. Ive raced pan cars for years annd every 6 months was $1000 for new batteries to stay competitive.FPV has ended my interest with r/c on the ground but nothing till now has pulled me in because of analog first drone Beebop 2 with phone for the screen so I was disappointed with any and all goggles till now. knowing HD was around the corner even when you explained it just may never happen anytime soon.So I waited in disappointment till DJI released then bite frost now HDO2 my interest has peaked once again and Ive made a list on your DJI TBS set up. Now you release this HDO2 vid and Im back on the bench but still leaning toward DJI so I have to ask about crash tests as view leads my vote how well will the DJI stand up when flogged and can you remove the casing to mount in smaller quads or is the case designed for cooling purposes or just protection. I also dont like close ended products such as Apple, never owned one and never will. that alone has steered me away from DJI but now they have something I want.Are there any products coming that is going to upstage DJI that are open sourced if I can just wait a little longer.

After going back and forth quite a bit I have settled on the Skyzone 03S. I couldn't bring myself to pony up the extra for the OLED displays or go the bit further for the FATSHARK. I thought the Skyzone would give me a good enough experience for starting out, especially indoors and if all goes well and I want more then I can look at buying bigger/better/ more expensive and I will still have a reasonable set of goggles as a back up or for spectators. Who's have thought that a power button would give someone so much joy, maybe you need to get out more often :-) .

That's the right video for my comment to enter the giveaway, isn't it? 😜 The decision between DJI and HDO2 (analog in general) is like you said a really tough one but keep in mind how new digital FPV systems are and how quickly our hobby is increasing in its abilities and options. In my local flying group we have people who still have quadcopter with an external OSD or none at all. Let's say it takes a year for the new generation of digital FPV systems, no matter if it's from DJI or FatShark, there will be much more options available like separated, smaller receivers, cross compatibility or even much more goggle providers than now. The image quality and simplicity of the DJI system is really seductive (hype or not) but speaking for myself I won't switch from analog until I'm fully satisfied with the given options and further more I'm not willing to switch every half a year to a year to a new system. I'm still in the process to update all my quads with crossfire... 😅

Bytefrost just doesn't look all that good yet. Maybe I'll just wait 6 months and keep running my old goggles.

Just ditched my HDO and trying to figure out should I go for DJI (especially they now got all's the add-ons for analog available on the market) or upgrade to HDO2? I had blury edges even with smaller HDO screens, really hope upgraded optics in HDO2 fixes my vision issue. And I love that analog FPV goggles are much more compact than DJI. So far the best sharpness of FPV image I seen was in Eachine EV800 box.

I'm a beginner deciding on what goggles to buy, and i'm gonna go with HDO2 and not DJI, because, i want my most of my budget in things i won't destroy so i prefer good quality goggles that can handle future digital modules instead of locking myself with DJI and not being able to fly inexpensive whoops or crying when my 160€ DJI camera breaks on my quad. My bet is that they didn't just put a high resolution screen in an analog goggle for no reason. And the diopter is a must have for me.

I just watched a 3min ad video without clicking on skip ad before watching your video and I even clicked on install and installed the app they wanted me to install. Laughed so much with the power button cry scene 😆😂

I am one who needs the diopter slots. Astigmatism plus -6.0 inserts didn't work at all for me, I have an RHO prescription lens for my HDO's
@joenaylor36265 жыл бұрын
I have double vision (also called diplopia) which needs to be corrected by prism in glasses. Easily corrected by my Rho lenses inserts in my Fat Shark HDO. Looks like that will not be an option in the HDO2, too bad. Seems like it would have been easy to include the same mounts as in the HDO.
@mougnette5 жыл бұрын
It is not. The lenses are moving and would hit the custom diopters inserted in front of them. Heard there will be some different aftermarket lens brackets.

Since the power switch seems to require some firmware input to function, that tells me it is likely that there will always be a tiny power drain on a battery left connected. Can you check to see if there is a power draw on the lipo when the goggles are switched off?

mmm, I think fat shark HDO/2 is to expensive for me and there is no reciver with it... So I think Skyzone is the best I can get ^_^ And thats good because I dont want to spend 120 now on a ''beginner'' goggle and 1 year later 300 for a better one... Anyway, HDO2 sounds great and awsome and it might be, Orka sounds great but its far to expensive for me ^_^. Great video Joshua! Keep them coming

I didn’t buy the HdO because of the smaller FOV , so I brought the last of the HD3 being that last 40 plus FOV and very satisfied . This should have been the first version HDO I’ll stick to my hD3 for now .

I waited for a few weeks before I wanted to post this. For $500 this is THE BEST FPV goggle available. Yeah it’s not the best DVR but with a Rapidfire module and the right camera VTX combo? Holy crap, it is really good. I am a happy customer.

I'm actually in the position you described, starting out and unsure what to purchase. Ultimately for me I decided to go for an analog setup so that I could start on Whoops - Firstly for the guarded props so that I don't slice up everything in sight and secondly because of the way that upcoming regulation is criminalising anything over 250g. I had actually already made the decision between the Skyzone Sky03O and the Fatshark HDO, choosing the HDO primarily due to the built-in support for Rapidfire and had ordered them. On the day they were set to arrive, the HDO2 were announced and I immediately organised a return for the HDO because on paper the HDO2 represent the best parts between the HDO and the Sky03O goggles and I'm really glad the reviews have shown that they live up to that expectation. I've always planned to go with ByteFrost or whatever new digital product is out when I progress to larger quads so as long as they have a HDMI input, I figured I'm set.

im currently using the eachine ev200d goggles, i'm considering upgrading to the hdo2. pricing is higher but at the end of the day ill have something that actually has customer service and a quality product, having to buy the receiver separate stinks but it is what it is

Not true JB there is a $20 conversion the front faceplate that allows you to nicely tuck in an analog module on the DJI goggles so you can do analog and digital
@frankyfrench52795 жыл бұрын
Isn't the DJI system lacking the Betaflight OSD ? At least if so it should be mentioned as one of the negatives of it. As is the price and size of the camera and VTX module, which makes it expensive and not suitable for lightweight or smaller drones and micros.

In the end, this is not a DJI review. All of that stuff has been extensively mentioned in my DJI reviews. This video is already 25 minutes long just talking about the HDO.

The EV100s that I use were the only binocular goggles with FOCUS and IPD. Good job Fat Shark ! (they originally said they couldn't fit a focus rack inside). I need +3 reading glasses, will I be able to focus them for my poor eyesight?

25:10 At the end of the day... I'm not buying any of them until a) Byte Frost is up to speed AND drops a bay module, or b) DJI comes out with better fitting goggles AND a smaller vtx-only box that'll fit into the many frames I already have... or c) until dji runs the rest out of business and my HD3's crap out.
@modocfpv63055 жыл бұрын
dji brought up the issue of on board dvr again. maybe fatshark could come up with a nice 20x20 or 30.5x30.5 dvr board. And if possible integrate into a flight controler?!
@Sir_Brennan5 жыл бұрын
As someone who has been flying HD2s for a long time, HDO2 is my idea of a perfect goggle. 50 degree FoV of the HD2 is just a tad too big, 46 on HDO2 is awesome. Then you also get the larger IPD adjustment range and focus dials. I can't even think of anything I would change to make the HDO2 better aside from the DVR. But DVR quality isn't important to me personally. The old DVR was always good enough for me.

I was sad when HDO came out.... I bought HD3 literally 2 weeks before the HDO release. Well, I just said to myself that I'll wait a while, sell my HD3 and buy HDO later, but I can see that I can live without HDO... But Now I thing I can't live without HDO2 :-D Thank you for great review Mr. Bardwell!

I am getting into this more and more... and I got a bebop 2 as a gift... not exactly what I’m looking for, but its been a great place to start. Will the goggles you give away be compatible with a bebop 2? Even with some soldering? Or is the the Parrot bebop completely its own?
@mmmmhehe5 жыл бұрын
6:35 to skip to goggle info. Better resolution than the HDOs but if you're using a standard FPV camera you won't notice much difference?
