Lee, thanks for the video. I stepped up and bought a pair of HD02s after watching your review (and others). I'm a Fat Shark fanboy, I guess. Anyhow, I've officially upgraded from Dom V3's, which I've used for 4 years since getting into FPV. MAN, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I mean, the size and clarity of the OLED panels vs the LCDs in my Doms. Now, I'm not complaining at all about the Dom V3's but the:HD02s are definitely worth the price of admission, in my book. They just feel like "quality". From the pad, to the fit, that 46° FOV, to just everything about them. Except the danged DVR, of course. C'mon Fat Shark, let us record at 60 FPS!! Anyhow, I'm sold on the HD02s. I told my brother it's like when you upgraded from standard def to your first LCD HD wall mount TV! That's how I equated the "wow factor". I put 4 packs thru my newest 3" micro this afternoon and whoa(!), that extra FOV was awesome to see. I seriously had to sit in the car after flying, just to lose that "in motion" feeling after flying. I heard someone say "it's like moving from the back row, at the theater, up to the middle row". Truth!! I'm ready for a Shark Byte system now!!

Like I commented on the Live LDO show, thank you for your review on the HDO2. Your review convinced me it was time to upgrade from my trusty fatshark dominator v2 and glad I held on until these came out. I remember commenting some time back how fatshark hdo aspect ratio was limited for me and wanted both options for all types of flying the only thing is shame about the DVR being the same. Disappointed you cant use the old head tracker board but maybe FS will come out with a solution to to so. I think also they should come out with optional thicker padding one so users can add to increase the distance from the lens and also so users can make the goggles fit better for other shapes of face. I hope the do look into updates as commented on your video. I finally had a chance to speak to you using LDO live chat and thank you again for all the hard work you put into making all these videos and there help provided.

Nice review thank you, I don't understand I got the HDO2 upgrade from HDO and was very happy running the Caddx Turtle V2 HD cameras. I just installed a Foxeer Razor 1200tvl fpv camera on a quad and the image is so poor I can hardly fly. When I put my HDO gear on the image is great. What can be causing this. My DVR monitor looks great also.

I have same problem with same camera. I can barely see a chainlink fence until I’m right up on it. I’m running same exact camera you stated with rapidfire module, lumenier ax2 patch and long rang antenna and 600mw vtx. Did you figure out a better cam for the hdo2?

the day it showed up on youtube I sold right away my HDO. though the HDO2 not out yet till the end of November. so I ordered already and now wait. but IMO the HDO2 is the last analogue glasses from Fatshark. I have the DJI FPV glasses also and one thing for sure, the future is digital :)

In my case, having Sky04X the IPD is limited to moving the optics while the display remains stationary, this causes a cut of the edges in case you need a very narrow or very wide ipd. Seeing the HDO2s open in a video I noticed that the oled displays are anchored with an aluminum support directly to the optics allowing the simultaneous scrolling of both the display and the optics which results in a better vision / immersion / centering and without cutting edges. . Can you confirm this value of the Fatshark or are they just my conjectures made without having tried them?

Are the focus adjust dials notched to fixed steps or smooth to get precise adjustments? I hated the diopter approach as my eyes are like yours with differing strengths at non whole numbers so it would be nice to know if I can near infinite adjust these. Cheers.

Great comparison 👍, i got an important question to ask , i got already the HDO and my son is starting his fpv journey , i could buy some hd3 for $200.00 new in box right now and the hdo are going for $400.00 now , are the hd3 worth the $200.00 or should i buy the hdo for $400.00 for a little more detail on the screens , your answer will help me alot on deciding which ones to buy .

The HD3s are perfectly usable for learning to fly. Goggles are updated all the time and some pilots don't fall in love with FPV long term so investing in high end goggles for a new pilot can be tricky. There are a few cheaper options, check out my goggle reviews... happy flying!

So no diopter support. It's great that the focus is built in, but, I'm 59 years old and use approx +3.00 for reading glasses (to achieve focus at approx 18 inches +/- a few inches). So does that mean these goggles are 100% unusable for anyone who uses reading glasses above +2.00? Of course I realize that sometimes within .25 or even . 50 a person's eyes might still be able to adjust, but above that probably not.

I'm 63. Box goggles typically have your eyes focusing at about 4-7" away, which is why they tend to strain your eyes after extended usage times. I started on box goggles some years back, and had to use my reading glasses inside them. It was a nuisance to change glasses every time I put the goggles on or off. Non-box goggles are different, they have you focusing at about 6 feet away, very relaxing on the eyes. I fly my Fatshark HD3's without inserts fine. Was going to order inserts but found I didn't need them. I'll upgrade to the HDO2's when funds are available next year, they should be even better (for my eyes). I don't know my eye prescription tho, so sorry can't comment/advise specifically on your +3.00 glasses. Cheers.

Got it. My fpv camera is Foxeer Falkor 2 Mini. When I first tried it on my 13 inch crt television, it was great and not blurry. However, when I hooked it up to my Fatshark Dominator V3 fpv goggles, it was a little blurry. I've already adjusted the ipd but it only helped a little. I'm thinking that if I switch to Skyzone O30 or Fatshark HDO2, I will see massive improvements on the video quality(not dvr recording). What do you think?

Some of the blurriness is due to the scaling of the image up to the higher resolution screen. If the screen is only slightly larger then the pixels are blurred a lot to scale it up. If the screen is much higher resolution then the effect isn't as severe..

If a camera say a eagle 2 puts out x amount of resolution, how do the goggles make the picture look better, the only reason i ask is i have the Hd2,will these actually give a better picture given cameras output a different feed. Just a question i seem to have trouble understanding.

All analogue FPV is transmitted at 640x480 (old VGA size). So an image is scaled up if the screen has a higher resolution. Having more pixels allows an image to be scaled up and not worry about blurryness from that scale increase and interpolation and also support PAL, NTSC and 4:3 and 16:9 easily using the same screen. FOV and the screen technology (OLED here) affect how the screen looks too. How well the camera captures, exposes and processes the image make a massive difference too - using older basic cameras with high end goggles like these wont look as good.. Hope that helps...

See my review of those goggles. IMHO, even through these don't have an integrated OSD, the independent focus and larger resolution display makes these a better set. Even after my review of the SkyZones I stayed with the HDOs...

The main reason I've changed from hdo is the ipd adjustment goes further inwards on the skyzone by a few mms so hoping to clear up the image a bit and also the smaller faceplate.
