@alenvire Жыл бұрын
@@ropeysubstance1719 He probably did break some SOP's, but the rest of your comment is full of a lot of assumptions. Though, I was surprised he did not handcuff the passenger till everything could be investigated. But, passengers are not criminals or violent suspects and are not under suspicion of such even if the car flees. Most passengers get released after a police chase unless something else is found. The most he had on this guy, as far as I know, is not wearing a seatbelt, and probably as far as the cop knows too. Neither violent or worthy of the label criminal. Anything found after the crash could change that, but, the cop can't assume that guy is a violent criminal anymore then he can assume you are a violent criminal.

I thought for sure he was going to get out with his gun push the passenger down with knee on his neck and handcuff the guy, then walk over to the gentleman that is deceased and put handcuffs on him. This state trooper even asked the passenger if he was okay and helped him get out of the tall grass without handcuffing him. It was good the cop remained calm. When you have someone that's unresponsive you need to take their pulse and check for breathing immediately. In this instance because of the type of injuries the only thing the officer could have done was insure the victim was breathing. All cops all firemen must be heavily trained in emergency first aid. Train to the point where it's instinctual. I don't fault the cop, whatever your rest should be critiqued. just saying everything is wonderful is not how we learn and improve.

Years ago, Trooper Sequoyah Browning had a reputation in South Arkansas for enforcing seat belts. I asked him one time why he was so adamant about it. He told me it was because he worked one too many fatal wrecks where if they had been wearing their seatbelts, they would have survived. Guess it is the other way round passengers die and drivers survive. I find it hard to believe that a passenger can survive after not having anything to hold on during the roll while the driver has the steering wheel which helps him from being thrown around like a doll. On another note criminals always know when to blame the deceased, the fact that he said it before being asked was because he knew that the deceased cannot protect themsleves in court or in interrogation and teh family will blame teh police while teh blame lies actually on not having taken informal education seriously.

Many police departments have policies to end pursuits that exceed certain criteria. The reason for this is not that "stupid people will blame the cops for pursuing". The reason is that statistically police pursuits end many lives, and very often the risk is not worth it. There have been many cases where officers are killed, or bystanders are killed by police vehicles, etc. There have even been cases where family members of the pursuing officers were by coincidence killed in a collision during pursuits that were not called off. Then those officers will have the rest of their lives to regret not calling off the dangerous pursuit.

I worked a vehicle accident one day, it was a 4-door pickup truck driven by a female with her two young boys unseatbelted in the back seat, she was speeding and lost control and barrel-rolled the truck at least 6 times and both boys 10 and 13 were ejected and both were sitting in the ditch with just some bumps and bruises. The mother was hurt pretty bad but after a few months, she was pretty much back to normal. She was very lucky her two boys weren't killed because she would have been charged with their deaths instead of just being charged with 2 counts of felony child endangerment. Not sure if the courts lowered her charges or if she spent any jail time. I just know that I was shocked and very glad to see those two boys sitting there in the tall grass doing just fine.

@@ndnballin Yes, sad as that is, he did it to himself. He might have killed your children travelling with your wife, your brother's family, Your mum on the way back from visiting an aunt or an uncle. He might have wiped out one of your rather-odd-to-us big yellow school buses with 30 kids or so on board. Couple of things: Have a licence & insurance to be allowed to drive, drive respecting the law and the welfare of other people. Stop when the police instruct you to. Interestingly, I've not been stopped by the police at all for around 40 years - but when I was a teenager, I was stopped frequently. I am a white male. I never complained or moaned when pulled over. I was always polite and courteous and had that back in bucketloads and never turned "advice" into "being done! (which you'd call being ticketed in the States). The long and short of t is he should have stopped. The saddest part of all is that the pair of them didn't clip up the seatbelts which are stowed less than 2 inches from their shoulders. Had "Bob" done that, he would still be alive if in the local gaol / prison. Total and complete, utter total waste of his life. How much love did Bob's mum give him? How much did the United States spend on educating him? How many years did his multiple acts of madness and stupidity cost him? 50? Wear a seatbelt - it may save your life! Don't ever run from the police _their job is actually to protect YOU_ and they really are from the biggest gang in the country! Don't drive drunk, drugged or anyother how in a manner which endangers others or yourself. In fact before you do anything stupid, contemplate the question "Would I like someone else to do this to me?" If the answer to that question is NO then *don't do it to anybody else !!!!* My sincerest and deepest condolences to Bob's family. Specifically the monther who's lost him and his children if he'd fathered any. A needless tragedy.

This part I don’t understand about usa. In Germany you run, noone will chase you. It’s only putting more people in harm’s way. They will block the highway off a couple exits ahead or if that fails, they will patiently pick you up wherever you live.
