As a person who plays FGO solely to try solo every existing CQ with Enkidu, I would like to throw a couple of extra thoughts for those interested and that might be thinking about picking him up next year. 1. Sadly Enkidu doesn't pair well with Skadi as most people might think (can't speak for the summer version as I only play NA), as his NP Gain on Quick is just way too low and his Star Gen would just be overkill (he already makes around 44 stars without extra effects and overkill when soloing on his own). Skadi's batteries can help him with that of course...but with Castoria, Enkidu refunds 100% with his Arts Card in the 3rd slot in most cases. 2. Enkidu's Quick Deck is actually what is putting him at ridiculous levels of damage and consistency after the new mechanics introduced with 7th anniversary. Enkidu's optimal case scenario (like for example the 7M HP King Protea, Demon Bodhisattiva or 50% Kama/Mara) is a cycle of "NPQA" and "QQQ" chains. This makes Enkidu take full advantage of the rainbow bonus AND from the extra crit chance up from Quick Chains (the 10 additional bonus stars are not worth considering, as he is already reaching almost 50 stars without it). The Quick Chains serve as turns to cooldown or diminish the effects of the boss fights (through f.e. debuff cleanse, small CC heal or buff removal), while his NPQA turns make him refund a lot while putting Def Down and damaging the boss. His only real competition as of today are QSH (who breaks the game in 2 by being a monster that also happens to take half damage from everything and who is also able to spam invuln at will) and Cù Alter (who can burst almost everything with super high damage while being able to rely on a very good survival-oriented kit). The only servants that keep up with Enkidu while being neutral to most content are Van Gogh, SOrion and Kama. But none of those servants benefit from the new mechanics, because all of them either do "AQA + BBB" or "AQQ + QQQ". 3. If you are playing solely for the story, just know that Enkidu can counter every single story boss fight that is not a saber...if you have a Castoria of your own and an Enkidu, you can basically kill Cernunnos in less than 10 turns reliably (for min max you can also 4T frontline only, but for that you need NP3 with BG). Overall Waver and Ozymandias are in my opinion also very very good picks, so I can totally see the point being made in the video and agree with them.

As someone who practically ignores class disadvantages for fun or because I'm too stubborn to change my favorites out of the team Enkidu can take down saber bosses since he can stay alive and produce stars long enough to crit everything to death Only concern is if the boss is the type to spam crits or use insta death but otherwise enkidu absolutely can deal with sabers as well if you're willing to deal with the extra challenge

I'd still say Tamamo should be a lot higher, even if you have Castoria, she compliments her very well in boss and challenge fights with her healing and cooldown reduction. I find her better than using 2 Castorias, since the solemn defenses don't stack

I got him during my Castoria summons and I was mildly annoyed. A month later, he’s one of my most useful servants, coming at a time when I didn’t have any solid Riders (other than Ushi but I didn’t want to use grails yet) and he was basically the only reason I made it through the Goetia fight and he’s still not even buffed on NA.

You could also do a top 10 best story locked servants. I think it would help players decide to roll or not when they see a story locked servant they like on rate up. For example, Bedivere, a 3 star story locked thatsometimes shows up with rate up alongside a 5 star. Maybe a player who has not quite decided if the 5 star is worth to summon on the banner will have a easier time deciding if they know that Bedi is good or not.

I rolled on Tesla's banner earlier this year, because I found out "story locked" meant even more strict than I realized, in that the servant is locked onto the story banner itself barring rate ups. I unfortunately never noticed or realized that after three years of playing until I happened to find out. Which made me not only more grateful for when I got Cu Alter on a Valentine's banner, but made me appreciate Vlad more because it meant I couldn't be spooked by a second copy of Cu (aka my most desired Berserker even after having him already).

I'm a NA player so I dont have all the big stuff yet but I've leaned to Arts ever since I started playing years ago (way before Castoria, or even Merlin) and well... waifu... so... she was my fave, she still kind of is, even if I have all the big ones on NA rn. People saying she's not relevant, I get it, I understand the logic behind it... BUT THATS STILL MAH WAIFU. I will field her, sometimes with Castoria, and I will die on that hill. After getting Waver from this year's SSR ticket and reserving next year's for Cu Alter, these are my 5 most wanted SSR spooks in no particular order: Ozymandias (Ushi & Mandricardo are great and all, but they're my only ST Riders. Plus, his guaranteed Imperial Privilege is insane.) Enkidu (While I already have Kagetora, Enkidu's solo potential is amazing and sets him apart from the other ST Lancers.) Sanzang (Like you said, ST Casters are extremely rare for some reason. Missed out on Shuten Caster & hoping to get Charlotte Caster next year.) Vlad (An amazing universal ST unit with Castoria support. That's really all I need to say for this one.) Artoria (I prefer Saber Alter for waifu reasons & plan to get her with the 4-star ticket in a couple years, but OG Artoria's firepower is undeniably unmatched amongst AoE Sabers.)

I'm sad Odysseus didn't make the list. He's arguably my favorite AoE Rider, even over Da Vinky. He can arts loop, has a solid kit (including a Georgios-like taunt) and has that handy buff strip before NP damage that sadly some other 5* servants still don't have to this day. I think he's quite overlooked but I'll always love him.

Ozy is excellent for sure and the others in the list are good as well. I have Jeanne but rarely use her which is a big knock against getting her. "You need her when you need her" in a few very difficult boss fights so she's good to have particularly if you don't have Merlin like me. I also have Vlad but rarely use him. I think it is partly because he's only NP1 for me. 3 and 4 star servants at NP5 are going to do more damage from their NPs in my experience. Therefore, I tend to use Nagao Kagetora, Sieg, and Hokusai (Saber) paired with Castoria and they all do a whopping amount of damage at NP5 & boosted by Castoria. Same type of issue applies to Ozy. I've used Ozy (NP1) and Ushi (NP5) and Ushi's NP5 vastly outdamages Ozy NP1 (double or triple depending on what boosts you have). However, Ozy's non-NP cards do more damage on average than Ushi's cards so Ozy's still a good rider to have for that. Anyway, I think what I am saying is that Ozy is good to have but you really need NP2 or NP3 before he becomes all-around best at everything. So, for riders Ushi is my single target Boss killer until I get something better (which could take quite a while since I'm a low-budget player). I'm on NA not JP version.

Out of those available in NA I have only not been spooked by three of these. Enkidu, Xuanzang and Artoria. Waver spooked me on Skadi's first banner (mixed feelings considering it was my first and so far only copy of him but no Skadi despite throwing a lot into her) and Jack has spooked me twice. Ozy came during my first few weeks of picking the game back up after quitting for quite some time, him and Cu Alter saw a lot of usage for me for a long time, until I properly shifted into aoe farming.

I'd personally place Sanzang a bit higher on my own personal list. Single target Casters are fairly rare as mentioned. But I think her basically being able to instant charge her NP is pretty great. Medea can do it, and so can Circe. But...Sanzang will actually do damage with it. Her NP gain is pretty great as well. She's really good at boss fights, and in scenarios where she doesn't have a starting NP charge ce to work with. Black Grail, or lotto events for example. Jack on the other hand I'd place a bit lower. She is great, but I don't feel like her kit warrants a high placement. There are a ton of lower rarity assassins who basically can clear all of the same content she can. The same Alter Ego argument can be made as well. But unlike Sanzang, not only are decent single target Assassin's fairly common, she can't insta NP without support. Giving her less utility in team comps for events. Her star gen and np gain are good though. I wouldn't remove her, but...I'd just lower her placement.

Mostly depends on how many copies of Circe spook you. NP5 Circe outdamages Sanzang, but not everyone has her. Medea is just in a sad spot and has been wanting an NP buff or damage buff forever. Jack is still great if you lack Kama though because assassin as a class is so trashy that you have so few options. The one servant on the list I'd put higher is Artoria because she is an extraordinary farmer even at NP1 with the DKSO system against lancers, and can work against almost anything except archers where I'm not sure if she can farm them at level 120 2K fou's NP5, haven't bothered with the math personally.

She makes very quick work of any female servant especially when paired with good supports and the fact that she can loop for stuff like bosses with many health bars like Kiara, though that may be my spook np 3 jack talking...

@@dark_rit I'm guessing you mean NP1 Sanzang loses in damage to an NP5 Circe? Because at equal np levels obviously Sanzang does more. With a 20% NP damage boost, and a 20% attack boost, with SSR stats, vs Circe with only a 20% defense down. Though Circe I guess is easier to get a hold of, unless you are me who Circe doesn't like to spook too often. My Circe is NP2, while my Sanzang is NP4. Though Sanzang has been in the game longer. So I guess it's not that crazy.

My number 1 spook is Enkidu, because he literally spook me on every Nero Bride banner on my NA. He's already NP4 for now and Nero Bride still NP0. What a freaking spook he is. Besides of that awesome gacha record, Enkidu is very nice unit. He literally smash Olympus Gods alone like it was a joke. Every time i face Divine boss, as long as it not Saber (obviously, duh), my Enkidu can solo it without any problem. Maybe except that fluffy God on LB6, it scary so much, imma use 2 mini team for that battle. Imma looking for his 5th copy on next year Nero Bride banner, maybe this gonna be my blessing in disguise.

@@RokuroKun My personal buff would be to make skill 2 aoe instead of selfish. Every other meta support has either debuffs or support buffs in every slot but tamamo. In addition to this, it would actually push her into a niche, whereas giving her np gain up will make her better but she will still always just be an option to use with castoria. By making the defense buff aoe, she suddenly becomes the premier support for defense stacking comps, which have already fallen off compared to castoria based stall comps.

Good list, of these i've been spooked by Sanzang, Jack, Vlad and Jeanne. If i ever get Waver, i'd do his three interludes and then to the Second Archive he'd go. He's way too op, and i dont want to ever 3 turn nodes or cheese bosses with him or the other super casters (same reason i'm going to skip Koyanskaya and Oberon when they arrive). The only reason i wouldn't outright burn it is because i really liked Waver in Fate Zero and Melloi Case Files (and because i have an Iskandar and would be reuniting the pair), but i'd refuse to use them beyond getting the sq of his interludes.

minamoto tametomo's crit potential is good i guess. but he does actually shine more in his np actually. the np damage potential is very high on him. his crit potential is in my opinion is actually lower than arcuied because of higher buffs than minamoto (even though arcuied isn't actually a crit servant or probably she is a good crit damage dealer servant, i don't know). his buster up also only last for 3 times. in short, minamoto is more of a np damage dealer by stacking his np damage up.he is faster version of kingprotea but unlike her, he can lost his buff after using one time. his second and third skill is all about np up.

@@MystFGO no, iam not comparing him to arcuied. you get me wrong. i am saying he probably has a good crit potential but i don't think he is actually a crit dps mainly. his crit is just a support for his np (ofcourse his np not being st is kinda problematic). in fact i don't still actually use him yet, i am just saying this from my calculation, so probably i am wrong and he is more crit dps actually i don't know. i am actually comparing him to arc because i think arc is not a crit dps (because she doesn't has any crit up in her kit) but even she is more of a crit dps than him (because her crit overall has equal or actually even higher crit damage than minamoto). but probably she is also a really good crit dps like minamoto as well.

Jeanne is my main hard carrier in any content. I got her right in the beginning of playing fgo. And she's still awesome. Even now.

jeanne is my first SSR that spook me when im intend to roll for eresh back then. She really save me a lot. Even till this days when i already have a lot of better option for survivability support, anytime i encounter some hard quests that i feel like i cant do it, i always like "screw it! Jeanne solo ftw!"

i agree on most but i think Jeanne should be above vlad cause she is more comp friendly than vlad although by not that much. I think Jeanne would help carry harder if one's account didnt have decent supports to help Vlad do what he does best. Cause my Mash and Jeanne with a zerker back in the day got me through solomon pretty well.

That's how I feel about Vlad Lancer, but not quite so with Waver. Vlad spooked me on Scathach's banner earlier this year and she still hasn't shown up after these two banners with her on them, and Waver spooked me on Skadi. My distinct lack of any form of Scathach on my account make me believe she hates me.

You're right myst, you want waver to be a spook once but doesn't want him to spook you again. But that's what happened to me. I choose him as a pickup SSR and a month later he spook me on voyager banner.

While you did at least make an honorable mention for Tamamo I still think she should be up there as one of the best permanent ssr. To this day she provides utility that is unique to her in the form of skill cd reduction and is still a pretty good arts support. At the very least she's way more relevant than Jeanne

@@MystFGOPremise: I don't mean to sound rude, so I apologize if I came off like that, just speaking my mind here. That being said I would argue that Tamamo could be easily top 3 in this list. I don't see how tamamo and jeanne could be ranked the same when castoria completely kills jeanne (and you will always have a castoria available in the friend list). Tamamo on the other hand provides utility that castoria doesn't have, which is huge considering how broken she is.

I think Jeanne is better for newer players than Tamamo as one example because Jeanne can be slotted into any team ever and also has a decent presense for soloing stuff. If you don't have the units to pair with Tammy she doesn't offer you much tbh. But yeah, it's mostly a pov thing, apples and oranges and whatnot.

@@vanescibin9906 I hate when people say that Jeanne is dead with the introduction of Castoria. She still needs buffs but she is still an incredibly viable unit. With a debuff cleanse as well as a 2 turn heal with Defense up.

Tamamo deserves more than just an honorable mention in my mind. Being a support is way more valuable than being a dps. Dps servants are not used against 80% of enemies because class advantage is just so strong. So the third best arts support in the game should outclass other not absolute top tier dps servants (like Sanzang or Jack for example) in terms of overall usefulness. I am not saying she needs to be top of the list, but I would still say most people would get more use out of her than some of the other servants that actually made it into the list (All dependant on someones own account of course).

The only problem is just most of times you won't use more than 3 support. So usually only the best and 2nd best support that being used *well, I like to use tamamo, but I can't complain her position either because she's a bit weak without starting np ce

Possibly more important than Enkidu's damage is his stun on Divine enemies, which translates to a lot of bosses. Between his stun, evasion, self-heal, and a couple of command codes and/or mystic code skills, he can solo stunlock down a lot of high-difficulty bosses. A friend's is how I managed the first Koyanskaya fight while not having any units to bypass her special defense.

Enkidu are very powerful against a lot of main story bosses and most of them are either Divine or Threats to Humanity. Even on bosses that tend to have anti-trait powers, Enkidu manages to slip away from them and not get affected by their niche. *Looks at Beast IV* And although some bosses do get disable immunity, the damage they do from their NP is still incredibly high.

Okay. I got spooked by Tamamo by the end of my multi summon on Castoria banner (after grinding from all interlude, all rank up from all servant that I got & 3 servant got bond 11). I called it "Castoria incident". I never get spooked that badly since Eresh and Ana on a banner but at least I got Eresh by the end

Glad that vlad (hehe) is on the list, he was my first SSR and has helped me a lot in part 1 (until jalter replaced him) The only place he kind of feels short is in hitting those crits (which I hear is a recurring issue with arts servants)

I've been spooked by 3 SSR sabers in the past 4 months and not one of them was Seiba. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my Mordred dupe for anything, but at the same time not getting Altera until after I take her on the ticket and then getting 2 spooks of her since kinda rustles my jimmies.

Ozy was my first SSR in FGO 2 years ago. Since I dont have many SSRs because I'm F2P, I remember them all. It was first Ozy, then Mordred, then Jalter, and latest is Gilgamesh. Made the game very easy.

More Myst content always good content imo, would be interested in a storylocked version even though that list isn't as diverse with possibility So for me there's a few perm SSRs on my NA I have which have mostly served me in different ways I'm currently using OG Saber in the 90+ node, though I did have to level her up more and raise her skills to be able to do it but at least it was during lotto so it didn't hurt Altera is still my go to AOE saber due to NP2 haven't used them too much but I have used Dioscuri a bit recently and they're pretty good Enkidu is still a good servant but I'll always prefer my Scathach, other than 120 and appends she's maxed out NP2 Achilles I need to use more but a good Quick farmer with double Skadi (although with Castoria and getting NP2 Sumemr Musashi this year I've become an arts farmer more) Drake, solid AOE farmer even after all these years Waver, just a super flexible unit I'm glad to have, though with me getting Merlin, Tamamo, Castoria and him this year, my caster supplies are lacking and there is always a dedicated support for me to use now so he doesn't get as much use Tamamo I mentioned above, still a great unit with double Castoria comps for extra damage, especially useful in boss fights Jeanne, the stalling queen. Mine is NP4 entirely from spooks so yeah, she is good at stalling, also don't underestimate her crit damage potential, with a single Merlin's buster buff (which I used for the HP boost) she dealt a 390k crit, not saying she's as good as Super Orion or any other crit dedicated servant, but there's that potential for big crit damage every so often with the right stall team setup With next anni's SSR ticket I'm between 4 servants myself, 2 of which you mentioned, though my choices are for servants I want rather than fulfilling needs as I have a pretty solid roster, hopefully some of them spook me before then so the choice is easier Jack, as mentioned just insane star generator, plus daughter. I have Kama already though so my ST Quick assassin niche is covered Sanzang, while I have Illya, she's not the best for everything. I do also have Melt and Sitonai but I still want ST caster coverage, plus I pulled her on JP early on and while I use Morgan there for everything, when I did use Sanzang she worked very well and I like her character and design then there's Mordred, while my AOE Saber is covered by Artoria and Altera, still want her nonetheless and finally Bradamante, would be the least boost to my account but that art is great (I do actually really like her artist's work on Xenoblade)

Yeah in top 10 story locked ssr's she's an auto include I think because she is a really good ST arts servant. Certainly way better than someone like Lartoria, who has some really sad damage.
