Don’t stress to much about her crawling, my son skipped crawling and went straight to walking and he has some amazing upper body strength. So just let her do whichever one she enjoys more

Mine too. She went from pulling herself up to running to her dad any chance I told her no (she still does this and will be 9 soon). I second the advice to not stress about it. She'll do it, or won't, when she's ready.

I've read and been told by my pediatrician that crawling is not even considered a milestone anymore. Some babies just skip it and go straight to walking which is fine. Also some babies learn to crawl backwards before going forward so maybe just give it time. Happy day!😊

My nephew crawled backwards for a month, then crawled forwards for a month, and then walked at 8 months. It's definitely a thing!

Jess you are doing a wonderful job as mom....dont worry about tummy time....most if not all babies hate tummy time....all 4 of mine hated it lol.....in time they do figure it out....its like they hate it so much that they just say...."flip it" and start to crawl just so they can get off there tummies, and it is so amazing and truth be told....rewarding even to watch the whole process. Keep putting her on her tummy is short intervals then increase that time a little bit each time....she will figure it out.

As an Early Childhood Educator, trust me when I say... don’t stress about her not crawling! It is so common and nothing to worry about. I had a ton of kids in my classrooms who never bothered to crawl, they showed zero interest! So instead, I enforced walking in a variety of ways and they eventually got there! :)

Kitten Kotz, I also have Hetrochromia. Yes, it most definitely is genetic. My paternal great grandmother had it. I have it and one of my first cousins (female) has it. Our left eyes are green with a little brown dot and our right eyes are dark brown. The green can vary from hazel/blue to really really green. So far, we're the only ones who have it. Just waiting to see if it pops up in any of the grandkids. It is beautiful and unique💖💗

From a mommy to 9 children, don’t worry to much about tummy time. My children hated it. She’s still so little. I would be really surprised if she skipped crawling. It does happen but even babies who hate tummy time still learn to crawl because their desire to move around and grab things motivates them. Your doing great, don’t stress. What a cute family! Just discovered you. In the general public most people equate hair with gender. I have two boys who had ample hair and were constantly mistaken to be girls. When my second was born, I really wanted another boy (before sonograms) and when I saw his face as he emerged from the birth canal, I crowed "It's a boy!" At which my doctor quiped, "Wrong end.". I agree with the comment that she will be ok with walking first rather than crawling. Does she sit by herself? Don't you think that takes as much core strength as crawling? My first only did the army crawl before he walked ( at nine months) and he has always been a very strong individual with good posture.

In a less joking vein -- I'm so glad Jessica is taking "me" time to express herself in a creative way. Whether that's through pole dancing or art. Everybody needs an outlet and cannot be "parent" 24/7/365 -- that way leads to burnout.

Welcome to the Hetrochromia family!! I have it too. My left eye is green with a little brown spot. My right eye is dark brown. The green can vary. Sometimes it's hazel. Sometimes it's a really really bright green or really dark green. It seems to come from the paternal side. My paternal great grandmother had it, I have it and one of my first cousins ( female) has it. The funniest part of it is when someone notices it for the first time, especially someone I've known for a while. We're a huge family, but so far we're the only ones who have it. Just waiting to see if it pops up in any of the grandkids.

I taught learning disabled kids for more than 20 years. I know that many kids who do not learn to crawl have learning disabilities and have to learn to crawl at a later age. It's important to do it. You might want to put her on a large exercise ball on her tummy, and interact with her. You could also put her on her knees on the floor and show her how to move her knees in sequence to crawl. She is probably not going to tolerate being left on her tummy to entertain herself.

My oldest hated tummy time. We did an exersaucer bc I would rather have happy emotions than an angry kid. Within a month of him in his exersaucer he started crawling and sitting up on his own without wobbles. (His sitting before the exersaucer was wobbly, but he could sit unassisted.) I did enjoy bringing the exersaucer into the kitchen area with me... He ended up crawling and walking...all within normal limits and he absolutely enjoyed the time he had playing while being upright. Some kiddos just don't enjoy tummy time. As long as you know her feet touch the floor (or you can place a thin prop floor under her) then she will be able to exercise core muscles. My second child loved tummy time...likely bc he saw his older brother on the floor playing. Just do what you feel is best.

Have you tried putting Micah on her belly, on the boppy, with something in front of her? We used to put my son like that with a pan full of water and rubber ducks. It kept him entertained for quite a while. Also, rotating toys helped. And don't stress about her walking before she crawls... Every little does things their own way. 🙂

She is working on her core and neck muscles while sitting. Encourage her to reach up and out while sitting or on her back to work on shoulder strength. It is best to crawl but there are other ways to strengthen those muscles. You can always encourage weight bearing and floor time play after she learns to walk. I am a retired school based occupational therapist and have worked with infants. I would be willing to talk with you to ease you concerns.
