Another cracking job lads, I fitted my doors and windows, what a nightmare, with a couple of them, because of some crap work by the builders who built my house.being a bricklayer myself, I was appalled at some of the brickwork.all the best.

I was wondering if you might fit the door into the opening, shut it, then realise that you haven't fitted the handles to let yourself out 😎. What sort of pillock would do that?......me when I put a new door on our bathroom! Luckily mrs Danny was at home and opened it from the outside with a screwdriver 🥴🙃🤪. Can see you're really struggling with your hip now Steve but still you carry on. Hope you get sorted with an op date soon.

I fitted my windows about ten years ago and did the same has you, ie screwed and silicone the sill before putting in situ. About a couple of years ago the house across from me got the professionals in to replace the windows and doors and I watched them. They cut the sill to length placed it in situ then just dropped the window and door on top of the sill without any fixing, maybe they know something we don't know or they are just lazy.

You have used the wrong nails for the tiles should have used aluminium nails so they don’t rust out and your tiles don’t get blown off

Brick to brick - 10mm for a nice fit and you can buy frame to brickwork that lock into the frames profile no screwing into the frame only the brick/blockwork have used them many times

It’s surprising what a difference to a house a porch can make - no more muddy footprints on the floors, somewhere to put coats etc - a low cost, high impact, extension.
