What he is teaching his son is that only men need to be listened to and obeyed. He says himself that he has to "handle" discipline issues. Why can't the mother handle them? She should be teaching the children right from wrong at the moments in question. He tells the child to be "nice" to Mommy but said nothing about listening to her and obeying her.

@@bari2883 I'm not sure what you mean by "birthing bond" ? Maybe you are talking about in the first 3 years of life for child to feel secure because mother is feeling secure but if the mother doesn't love the father it will cause turmoil for the children later on in life. Truly, the best thing for children is to be raised by both mother and father who love and respect one another and give to their children out of that abundant love. The man loving the mother may have a greater impact on the baby's immediate mental and physical well being more than the woman respecting the father does but that doesn't mean it continues to be true when baby grows older. Have you ever been in a household where the woman doesn't respect the man and right infront of the children, too ? Then you would know the impact it has on that environment. You'll know how it beats down the man and how that effects his ability to parent, partner, and love well. You really can't seperate the two as science or psychology tries to do if that is where you are getting your information from, for man was made in God's image and He made them both male and female. The human being is male and female. Indeed, it isn't about man vs woman as there is no such thing in the law of God. The law of God says, " these two will become one. " Therefore, neither one is more important than the other. I am convinced neither one is more important than the other but in their respective roles they do dominant. But rather how well they dominate in that area is dependent on one another. Yes, for a baby father loving mother is more important in that stage of life but we do not get to the truth of things by looking at one side and having but one perpective and basing our argument or judgement on one span of time and in this case an extremely short span of time. All things have to be considered. All things meet their connection. It may be more important for that baby that the father loves the mother more than she loves him but does it continue in that way as baby grows older and as mother and father continues to be together ? Or is it just as important that the mother respects the father as he loves the mother ? For rather she respects him or not and how she shows it or not will effect him and in that continual line effect the children and effect herself, as well. And for a husband not to love his wife will effect him in negative ways, as well. I would say, it does start with the love of the man but that love cannot continue if it is returned to him in vain. So then, if the mother doesn't love also the father then it is a love that is voided out and returned to him empty. A love she will no longer receive because love isn't meant to be empty or unprosperious. And that in return truly effects the baby or the children well being.

@RisingTidesAC5 ай бұрын
Yes, to slam doors. Children should not slam doors. The father is absolutely correct.
@Firstofanyone2 ай бұрын
I think it was more of a “you don’t slam the door when I’m home because I’m bigger and stronger, so when I’m gone you feel more comfortable to do it. That’s not okay.” Like he doesn’t want him to be SCARED, like an abused child would be, but he means that the son has a natural fear of bigger men (compared to most women.) I was the same way as a kid without realizing it. I’d act up more when it was just my mom, but my parents aren’t abusive at all.

@@RisingTidesAC One problem is that the dad said that "This is not your door, this is daddy's door." The kid would now be alienated in the house where he grows up. Growing up unsure whether he really belongs. That is not healthy and not right. When I was a kid, the parents would always say "This is your house, my house, OUR HOUSE. We treat the house with respect."
@AndrewFaust-dh7kgАй бұрын
@@nachbaliye4217 He's not wrong. It's not his house. He lives there because he needs to be raised and taken care of, but it's not his house. He didn't buy it, he doesn't pay the mortgage, the water bills, the heating and A/C bills, sewer bills, the trash bills, the groceries.... everything that makes the house functional, he didn't contribute to anything. Therefore he has no right to slam any kind of doors or do anything else that disrespects the house. The Father was 100% right to tell him what he told him. And that child will not understand until he buys his own house with his hard-earned money.
@nachbaliye4217Ай бұрын
@@AndrewFaust-dh7kg That still doesn't make it healthy though. It should be treated as "OUR house", because they all live there. Being told this isn't yours otherizes children. I have met several people who grew up being told "this is not your room, I let you live here, this is not your door", and now as adults they do not talk to their parents. American parenting is quite alienating and unusual.

Growing up as a child, when I did something wrong, my father spanked me, hanger, belt, brush, or hand it didn't matter. I hated it and I was a pretty good kid. When I raised my son I never hit him. I talked things out with him. He got grounded. Now he has children and he would never hit his children. Communication was used when he was young as his children are. All are well behaved and polite. I think hitting just created anger.
