By the time of this concert in 1993, Anselmo had died - that GM was able to do this is so amazing. It's hard to think of him as the young bouncing dancing young man he was less than 8 years earlier with everything he went through by this time. I don't think I will get over the brilliance of "I'll be the desert, you be the sea. If you ever hunger, hunger for me" - good grief, what a jewel of a lyric.

The only thing better than hearing him sing is to watch him sing! I’ve loved his voice since I was a kid, and I never really knew why I was so mesmerized. Now that I’m 43, and I’m finding out just how insanely talented he was, I’m even more amazed and obsessed than ever ❤️ He was such a good human. He saw the world, fame, humanity for what it was. I was lucky enough to hear him live, back in 2007. All his performances are top notch. I mean... to sing in studio quality is much harder than one can think. And damn, how sharp he was. Paying respect to his audience and even the art itself. I always said that even though I'm a straight man, I can't imagine any man sexier than George. When I was younger, I tried to copy his style but of course I wasn't hardly an epigon of him.
