@jimmiemclovin10 жыл бұрын
nicksjamin1 Yeah, well I can clearly hear it. Definitely not sayin' your wrong. You kinda expect harmony vocals singing PAPERBACK WRITERRRRRRR to come in at the right moment. Can't place the Monkee's musical song explicitly, it sort of sounds like a couple tunes, but more of a vibe with the proper musical tones than something specific There are references lyrically to both bands though. "But that monkey might be right" and well, I don't think he could get much closer to plagiarism than the title lol. I'm sure it crossed his mind.

here is a man writing the real folks.......... I remember when I showed my little brother Elliott Smith. talking about getting high on amphetamines, swearing, it wasn't something that was commonly equated with the genre he presented it in. FTM's doing that here too, but to a much grander extent. I never thought i'd hear a guy sing a song about poppy tea. I've known so many spectacular musicians who also had a tremendous wit and physical comedy about them. by intertwining those two strengths into his music FTM's making some really unique, cool stuff. "bored in the USA" is a bit more obviously brilliant. it's all such fun. such a fun album to listen to.
