One of my all-time favorite singular performances is when he did "Bored in the USA" on Letterman. When he stops playing the piano and turns away from it, but the piano continues to play...it was such beautiful satire, and can be interpreted many different ways. The phoniness and assembly-line style of American pop music, especially live entertainment, is a fitting interpretation for the subject matter of the song's lyrics. It's by far my favorite version of that particular song, as well.

@@richbanks911 I was lucky to have a friend who introduced me to his music when his 1st album was out and he did his 1st Letterman appearance with "Only Son of the Ladies Man", and I instantly had a man-crush with all of his flamboyant movements, stances and winks.

@@richbanks911 I still have yet to see him live. I really don't make it out to too many live concerts in my old age. The last show I attended was Guns 'N Roses here in OKC a couple years back, and that was my 1st live show in 2 or 3 years. My wife and I drove down to Austin a few years back to see Cracker (one of my all time favorite bands), but lead singer David Lowery took ill and they had to cancel the show.
