Story 4: My granny always had a great saying for times like this, she'd tell them she didn't have whatever amount they asked. When they protested because they knew she had it, she said, "let me clarify, I don't have any money for YOU." Simple. Doesn't matter how much money she had, none of it was for that person.

And also the part that blows my mind is when the father is explaining to the mother about what the kid is doing he honestly brings up the fact that he's just letting his kid breaking her some random person's locker and says it like it's an okay thing to do. He honestly thinks that it's okay.

3rd story: OP honestly handled this in an excellent manner. OP made their sister learn her lesson in a way that would definitely stick but without ending up in a bad accident. If OP had spoken up, the sister probably wouldn't have learned this lesson in as safe of a manner and would at the very best hit someone and had to pay even more money. At worst, she could've killed someone. She didn't even have to pay all that much all things considered. I'm a new driver myself and people using phones while driving is a massive pet peeve of mine. I can not stand people who use their phones while driving. If it's that important, pull into a parking spot and then look at it while parked. It's not worth the risk. Props to OP for making her learn her lesson and making sure she learned it in a safe enviorment.

Story 3: OP completely ignores the that she is not only a danger to herself and her passengers, but especially those outside of the vehicle like pedestrians or cyclists

Story 1: How did that stupid dad not get his ass beat by someone in that gym? I dont get it. He purposely abandons his special needs id in a locker room and doesnt (or wont) take him to a petting zoo as originally planned, and then wants to get mad at the mother for everything, and even try and pin some of the blame on the OP... what a complete piece of trash. Here's one of the few cases where i hope that the dad gets no parental rights going forward. Story 2: OP is not the jerk here, the gf is. She clearly wasnt into running, so why on earth would she agree to even train, much less go on a 5K event? If anything, she's the one who ditched the OP by driving away without him. Thegf is just being a snag here. Story 3: If the sister is that reckless while driving, then you should not have EVER allowed her to get behind the wheel of any car. Stuff like this is a big reason why many states/provinces have made being on your phone while driving illegal. OP is not a jerk at all here, but the sister is and a complete danger on the roads. If i was driving with her, i would've taken the phone away from her. She should feel lucky all she hit was a lamp and not another car or pedestrian. Story 4: No way is the OP a jerk here. Their money is their own business, no one elses. The moment people find out you have money, the asking, begging, and worse begins. The parents seem to be horrible with money, and i think they would continue to be horrible with it if the OP gave them any. Story 5: OP is not a jerk here and im really surprised that other people didnt follow suit here. If they knew ahead of time that they were going to have an hour long drunken limo ride, then fine, everyone could've planned around it, but they were just being inconsiderate to everyone here... and dont give me the stupid excuse of "they are kids, let them have fun". Thats the dumbest excuse i've ever heard. The niece was being rude and didnt deserve whatever the OP was going to gift her.

When it comes to driving my brother will not look at his phone at all unless its urgent but in that instance he will pull over to the side of a road then answer a call or text then when its over he puts his phone back down . Now if I'm with him he will ask me to answer the call or text it's far safer that way.

The sister phone story) she should be thankful, she only has to pay her brother for damages, if the police caught her doing that it would cost her a lot more in fines and insurance when her premiums go up, and depending on laws in her area and how long she had her licence she could have had her licence revoked for the offence.

Yeah that would have never flown in Michigan, because there's a law that basically tickets you if you're on your phone distracted while driving, whether or not you'll gets jail time or get a ticket. That I don't know. But all I know is that this law with no nonsense would definitely screw this girl over.

STORY 4: as someone whose culture is very family orientated, id see about paying off their house. it was purchased 35 years ago so the principle shouldn't be more than 300k so 500/600k at the most depending on which state/city their in. it is a lot of money but you did grow up in that house and wouldn't be where you are without it. or help pay off one of their debts. don't hand them the money but pay it off.

1st story: I had a locker thief in high school. Somehow this kid learned the combination to my locker & proceeded to remove ALL of the contents & take them down to the lost & found in the principal's office where a fee of $10.00 to have them reclaimed & returned to me. I finally solved that problem by getting a key lock! 😊

Story 1: The father wasn't just an entitled jerk, but also an irresponsible idiot. Story 2: The girlfriend did not think this through. A race like a 5k is a competition. The OP had been training for this competition for a while and she wanted to ruin it for him. This woman is clearly not an athlete. -Side Note: I wonder how a US Marine or Army Ranger would do in a 5k (which is 3.1 miles) or a 10k (6.2 miles). US Marines have to run three miles as the last part of their PT test; depending on age and/or gender, the max is 18 minutes and the min is 36 minutes. US Army Rangers have to five miles in 40 minutes or less for their PT test. Story 3: If this doesn't teach Kristy not to look at her phone while driving, nothing will. The OP was giving tough love. Story 5: The bride and groom were very disrespectful to their guests. The guests were just left standing around at the reception with no food or drink because of this selfish couple. Also, the OP's family need to grow some spines.

13:49 I agree. Distracted drivers are so annoying because I will be at a for way and after 10 years the light turns green only for the person in front to take 15 seconds to get off their phone and get going and as a result I almost always get stuck up front when the he red light turns on. What’s even worse is that this is blatantly obviously against the law anyway but the thing is that if you aren’t glued to your phone then you will text or call and keep most if not complete focus on the road instead of your phone WHICH CAN GET PEOPLE KILLED!

I think she was trying to step gallop which is a special technique he would use to use half the energy like when you jump you use the momentum to push you forward kind of like a dash in a video game, but not exactly like it because you’re not in a video game but I think to be able to use that particular technique. You do actually need to be able to run but like you use half the effort and half the energy It’s really a complete cheat of the human body but you do still have to work out a little bit just half as much and you do have to work on your stamina but just half as much that’s the whole reason it’s called a half gallop, but what you’re describing doesn’t sound like that and as someone who does this professionally that’s the only thing I can think of that even sounds remotely close so but running can be really important to some people so I don’t think you’re really in the wrong for leaving her behind. She should’ve gotten up in practice.

Rewarding a temper tantrum is a huge NO. So of course you were not a jerk until you said you found all this funny. How is traumatizing a child as the father and then the father and mother arguing did funny? Story 2: You are a jerk for staying with her. Story 3: You were a jerk for lending her your car to wreck. No-one should have ever have gotten into a car with her. Story 4: Tell them you have saved for retirement and that your retirement keeps you safe. You do not have to lie and you do not have to give them money. Please enjoy your savings. Story 5: Your nieces behaviour was disgusting. You are not a jerk but she and those family members who support them are. If you are too young to behave decently and respect others at your own wedding then she is not old enough to get married. Good for you.

Story 1 - Why'd you give the mom the Karen voice? She wasn't entitled. Consistency, narrator. 👀 Try it..
