Father of murdered teen says he 'can't understand' ongoing violence

"I know the Metro system has changed from when I used to ride the Metro system 20-some years ago, but I just can’t understand how with so much security and so many police officers, still that kind of violence happens," said John Evans, father of a 14-year-old who was shot and killed at Brookland Metro station two weeks ago.

Officers need to pay more attention to these teens and there needs to be more officers. Also, people need to be searched since these bad teens need to carry weapons So sorry. So young. My heart, sympathy, and prayers go out to his family and friends. RIP young man 💔💔💔🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏

... theres no teachings of the importance of forgivness and the power of karma . stop listening to angels . first off where is the brotherly love . Lets focus on why black men have a hard time communicated with other black men . Everything is not about SEX drugs or whos the strongest . A girl this a girl that Theres jokes ,bullying , pride , or a woman in the way of the reason for the down fall of the community . Thrown in this world of confusion its almost like we dont belong . The black culture is uptight and ready to fight and start contention most of this violence stems from ppl that have no control over their emotions. It’s unfortunate this young man lost his life and the suspects parents are the root why these kids act this way…no regard for human life or their fellow man whatsoever. I’m appalled that this man has to endure this disrespect not only from the suspect’s parents but even from the mayor.

Lord have mercy he lost both his sons to violence. So sad. RIP to all fallen victims of senseless violence. Very disturbing hopefully that teen is not released and kept jail but sense he killed an innocent person he should face the dealth penalty. Doesn't make sense how demonized these kids are. Their fighting something inside their souls.
