Unfortunately child support doesn't usually provide enough. Since it's based on what a person (mom or dad) is making, a lot of times it's $100/month or less. And the amount of men who will quit a job to get out of paying child support is ridiculous - my sister had a friend who's ex husband quit his regular job, and started working under the table so he wouldn't have to pay child support, but still had money for drugs.

Should you make sure there's food in this woman's refrigerator, the answer to this question is simply are those your children, if they are your children then your obligation is to make sure your babies are fed so that means you need to make sure there's food in that woman's refrigerator or she has the means to put food in that refrigerator. Your having a romantic relationship with this woman does not have any regards to whether or not you have the responsibility of making sure your children are straight.

My dad left 4 daughters for another woman. I wish he would have done things like cut the grass when he came around or fixed the broken things in the house. But he never thought of it as his children’s home. He always thought of it as his ex wife’s house and us girls had to do everything. So I learned to put up dry wall and paint and put in light fixtures and garden because who else was going to do it.

@@woodswalan ex boyfriend put me on to game in my 20s when he told me, "men usually treat the children based on how they feel about the mother." When they're not getting what they want from mom anymore, even biological kids are all but forgotten. But if they meet and get enamored with a new woman, they will be play daddy to her kids based off their feelings for the woman. I'm so glad he told me that so I could see and understand how childish that is for myself

@@DarthFurieIt's so baffling how many men admit this openly. As a thought experiment, I wonder - what could my husband(*) possibly do to make me stop WANTING to look after my kids, make sure they're fed, clean, warm, educated and LOVED? Nothing. Of course he could make it harder or easier for me to succeed, but he sure as heck couldn't keep me from trying my hardest. I'd never be able to live with myself if it weren't so. Why does it come so natural and easy to so many men (#NotAllMen) to say out loud that they can stop caring for their children as soon as there's nothing in it for them? How do they not disintegrate from the shame like a vampire in broad sunlight? (*he's a good husband and a good dad, this is purely hypothetical)

Its not about your coparent's fridge, its about your child's. A youtuber broke down his whole life story, the inconsistencies, and proved he was lying on live. While they were live, angry biracial was live, AB called out that youtuber to pull up, and when the youtuber did, AB blocked him, then claimed the youtuber wouldn't respond because they were a punk. If it’s the video I am thinking of the bigger issue was the division and animosity getting one child highly desirable food (particularly to eat in front of the others) and not the others. Even if all you care about is your child, and I don’t think that is inherently wrong, you should still get the others food. Not doing so will cause resentment to foster between the children which that child will have to deal with for the rest of their life. It directly harms and impacts his child. If he can’t afford to do all of them then doing it less frequently and then get them all food. That way you are not singling out your child in the family dynamics.

His obligation is to his children. So when filling the fridge, his obligation should be to find out why it's empty in the first place. If the reason is negligence, your obligation is recover your full-time care of said children so you can keep your fridge flowing and you can wait on her financial support. The best part, no more worrying about what she's doing. Now do you want to take care of the actual responsibility or 😉 talk about who daddy really is?

i guess what saddens me about this exchange is it still assumes a man needs to be around to provide/pay. I'd rather just see a world were kids have food. full stop. for context im coming at this from the perspective of someone who will never be able to "afford" to be a parent, even though i feel like if i had been born in a kinder less patriarchal world i might have rather liked being a stay at home dad for not just my own kids but for whatever little neighborhood i ended up living in (i was lucky to have a neighborhood mom i really looked up to). creepy selfish manosphere dudes really poison the well on that conversation though. maybe someday we can have a bit more room and safety for more vulnerability around discussions of fatherhood.

Anyway, I hope you find a way to share your love and wisdom with someone who needs it. But you have to have a really good sense of humor, too. I don’t mean this as a drag a black man moment but this has been my observation after several decades on earth. Do we notice how for the black women to assume the responsibility of taking care of child/children it seems to come naturally for most of us and there isn’t a lot of discussion and back and forth about her role and responsibilities. But,With our black men there is always a need to give them credit for taking care of the child/children they create, then there usually is a discussion as to rather or not he has to pay financially for the children he has helped make and then they have to decide if they’re going to spend time with child. The only thing that they don’t seem to need help with is leaving the women that they make these children with and sometimes the children. All the posturing that some do about their responsibilities it would be nice to see them fight hard to keep their families and the woman that they have children with a make a family.)

It makes me wonder why a woman should feel loyal if her SO is unwilling to fend for her or her kids. Love is the capacity to take care of others and be self sacrificing. If you are incapable of those things then you are incapable of love.

What some men are reacting to is the global assumption that men don't have any custody and thus don't buy food for their kids unless they fill mom's fridge. It's not 1980.

@@yehooyahoo6861 Because hetero men in general decided the best way to control women's lives was to confine them to the home as much as possible, thus they convinced society that childrearing was more women's work than men's, and now many legal rulings reflect that ingrained falsehood.

I wholeheartedly agree with the men who have apposed you about this post. I had a similar argument with my sons mother. She wanted me to pay for a basketball camp for our son in Indianapolis. She lives in Ft Wayne IN & I live in Ohio. Indianapolis is a 4 hour commute for me thats 8 hrs to & from. The camp was all summer & the games were every sat. She said it was my responsibility yet I also pay child support. I was supposed to get him every summer & that reduced my visits with my son(excluding the 8 hrs travel time) to 16 hrs a week. On top of that she felt I should furnish her home with groceries & help her pay her bills. All the while living with another man. And not withstanding me having my own house to furnish with groceries & other amenities. I also lived with another female & my ex had other children as so did I. But she would have had 3 ppl helping her household grow while mine suffered. So no! Although his children do live there it is not his duty as a father to support her home. People dont think about these things when considering the issues. I agree with him. They are not together. And he also has to make sure when his child is with him that the child is taken care of. In most cases, well in my case, she wouldnt send any food or clothes with my son so, according to your logic, I would have had to pay her a seperate child support award, then furnish her home with amenities & also find a way to furnish my own home with amenities. Where is the co-parenting in that? I feel that if I should help her she should also help me. Back to my previous story, if I had paid for him to go to basketball camp I would have had to sacrifice spending time with him. Did I pay for his camp? Yes I did. But it was one close to my home where I could spend time with him, help coach him & also monitor him. What is the difference? She wanted me to pay for her to be able to monitor him while making it more of a struggle to be with him because she didnt want to travel to Ohio to come to his ganes unless I paid for her a hotel, her food & her mileage. But its ok if I made the trip with no assisstance. So consider this next time you hear a man, or woman for that matter, speak on his experience. I think he made sense & as the title ironically suggests, your WRONG! In my humble opinion. I still watch you & support you because U make a lot of good points bjt your human. You do tend to miss the mark sometimes as we all are capable of.😊 I apologize for bouncing around in my points but Im sure you can make sense of it somehow.

It so made me think of Sunn!😊 And fyi, she said to make sure you get the 'organic shea butter from Africa! Everything else is fake, you can't even eat it!' She also said you can tell, the real stuff be 'chonk', apparently that means strong smell!👍🏼💙💙💙🥰✌🏽

Side note, a strawman doesn't need to be of an impregnable point. Still not one. If anything, one could argue it's a non sequitur. It is to the text of what came out of his mouth (in the extract; haven't seen the OG). But that requires ignoring subtext that is more visible than an ok-signing n-saluting blond bleu eyes chaplin-mustache bearing brown shirt wearing highschooler.

I just want to know why you don't have the same energy on mothers day considering black fathers are the most involved fathers according to the cdc in this case you are feeding the yt man narrative

I agree that the relationship status point does not constitute a strawman fallacy. However, your response video contains two other logical fallacies: an appeal to emotion and a red herring. Both fallacies appear to be central to your conclusion or more importantly you black women advocacy.

@@mommyofkittens4809 in the original response video SunnMcheaux at 11 sec uses the an appeal to emotion (Jealousy/Hypocrisy) with the other man helping which has no bearing on the father obligation to the child. at the 29 sec mark the stigmatizing of women is a red herring and has no relevance to the mans obligation. Hope that answers your question.

@@MishasMama At the 0:29 second mark, Sunnmcheaux introduces a red herring, placing emphasis on the point of advocating for women. While it is true that Sunnmcheaux did not explicitly mention Black women, I inferred from his previous videos and his identity as a Black man that this advocacy extends to Black women as well. If you would like, I can provide links to some of his videos where he explicitly states his priority support for Black women. Thank you, and have a blessed day.
