Kelly Pepperell Hi Kelly, I love your video those cupcakes were beautiful! I used two mats in the video. I use a Wilton mat to cut all my fondant decorations. I purchased that mat at Michaels. The second mat I used to cover the cake with fondant. I purchased that mat at flour confections. I love it so much! The mat is amazing! One problem I faced was that my homemade fondant began to melt at the lower ends of the cake & I had to place it in the refrigerator. May I know why this happened? Is it that I used too much of icing sugar.? Please help

For me I always like to have extra fondant. I find cakes much easier to cover that way. So I would say for a single layer cake 250g would be enough, but for a two layer tall cake I would double that. :)
