Y'all are getting there 😂!! There is so much depth and the emotion that Vessel brings forth is crazy good. I've cried to this song so many times 😂. But it's one of my Favorite songs by them. Of course all of their songs seem to be my "favorite" lol 😆. I love everything they've put out. They are so deep, just wait. As for the masks, Vessel went through several phases of them until he evolved into his look now. So dope! Vessel is just straight up genius to have built this whole lore and the music behind it. Keep going, the smoke will start to clear as you go. And Unc, you're right, TMBTE Vessel has accepted the outcome of this tumultuous relationship. He has grown so much. The first verse is a realization that things are different now. She is in a state of exhaustion and depression. The chorus then is the beginning of the pleading. Remember the way that you were. I notice the change, you can act like you don't feel the way you feel but I know you do and you need to let me in. The second verse is him telling her that he is going to help her, while the whispers are telling her that things are too different to ever go back to anything resembling what was. The last chorus is the panic of Vessel knowing she is too far gone. Throwing it all out there in a last ditch effort, it concludes with "I know it now". She knows she will never be the same. It's why she disappears at that point, she is gone. This could be suicide, but I think it's just her propensity to leave that becomes a theme through the three albums. She can't stay because of how things have gone for her and despite the love she wants (foreshadow here) being available, she can't see past the fear.

Vessel has always been very cryptic in the meaning of his lyrics, there's is never a right answer, and I think that's the point, the music is for everyone and its about the interpretation. That's why so many people relate to it. Sleep Token is always evolving.

To me the lyrics sound like they from one point trying to get the person to remember themselves. Then also the lyrics sound like they are the thoughts that you have that lead to you taking your life. The vessel behind is pleading to get them to remember who they are and the one on stage is the bad thoughts.
