Great job Melissa! Was just wondering if the center panel that you will be using has Sparkle in it?

Hi! The panel that comes with the kit does have Gold Sparkle - however, the pieces of the panel we are using on this quilt do not have sparkle. I hope that helps!

Uh oh! There's a notice on their site that says the following: "Due to errors in this kit, we are suspending sales until we receive corrections from Riley Blake. Please sign up to get notified when the kit is fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience." Does anyone have any further info?

SmittenKitten The large house paper piecing pattern in the kit was incorrectly sized. Also, a fabric used in a couple of house areas was missing. The errors have been corrected and those of us who bought the kit are now being sent the corrections. I’m looking forward to making this!

Did you really mean you usually press toward the light fabric? I’ve always been told press toward the dark fabric?

Yeah, she must have meant press towards the dark. I mean, that's standard!

Hi! Normally that's what I do as well. In this block, I pressed the seams in the direction that they wanted to "lay flat" the most, which happened to be towards the lighter fabric.

A lot of people say to press to the dark, but many times seams WANT to lay to one direction over the other, and it allows the seams to lie much, much flatter; sometimes that happens to be towards the dark, other times it's towards the light. I tend to press in whichever direction allows the seams to be flat.
