Sad day when they hang up their hats man. Been such a huge part of my life. Relating so much to their music. Watching them aged as I have, amidst the fame and lifestyle, there are still things that are relatable and helps me find ways to express myself, through their expression of themselves. Wish I could thank them for their contribution to culture, and to helping me to stay sane throughout the years. I put the bands name on my body. It's a part of me, although I contributed nothing other than money. Through drug abuse, breakups, homelessness, new cars, large homes, new careers, all of it, the band has been playing in the background. Kudos to NOFX for sharing themselves for us all to see.

Just finished listening to their book on audible. I definitely recommend it over reading it. Bcuz they all read their own chapters plus they got Jello from DK & Tommy Chong from Cheech & Chong as quests reading other chapters. It's fantastic n very moving, some fun entertaining stories but also some extremely gut wrenching honesty, self awareness n extremely emotional moments. N isn't that what we like punk for in the first place? It's raw stripped down pure rock n roll, success n failure, love n hate, laughter n tears, n the truth. Which is not easy to find these days let alone tell. So for them to read their own confessions n innermost intimate thoughts about each other, their friends n family n assess themselves, their car n life is just wow....it will leave u speechless like a lot of their songs lately. This is a new area for NOFX n not just them but all of us in America n in general around the world. They r by far more impressive then the Rolling Stones, or Black Sabbath, or Zeppelin in their endurance of partying, drugs, touring, n managing regular lives n families as well as business. Just no contest in my opinion. N I've read a lot of band bios n watched many docs on musicians n bands, n they just amaze me. I've always loved them, but I have a much deeper more serious respect for them now.
@KosMik_Skul3 жыл бұрын
If Jackass formed a band instead n used their collective intellect n musical skills that's kind of what nofx is. The embodiment of that generation but with much more reflection n thought n emotion as possible I think. They might've been an accident, unplanned disaster turned miracle success that helped them grow where n when many others of that generation n mine looking up to them couldn't change or grow n they changed but in a way that allowed them to stay true to themselves at their core, n thankfully shared n brought us all along for the ride. Thank u long live NOFX! Excited for Jackass Forever btw don't get me wrong I'm stoked for that movie. But I feel this is deserved even more so... #nofxforever
