Hello Richard. Hope everything is great with you and your alesis strike pro. I started playing on my kit in mid December 2018 and the sound was great. Yesterday when I started up the module and was starting to play I had trouble hearing the drums. Even when I had the highest on everything on the module I still had trouble hearing the drums. I emailed Alesis today and hopefully they replay soon ✊✊ Cheers from Sweden

What happened with your kit after this? I have been experiencing similar problems however mine are inconsistent. I fire up the module, and start playing with no issues, but then about a minute or 2 into a song the volume on the module output (for the drums and the aux input) drop out. Its extremely embarrassing when playing, and I'm having difficulty finding answers. It happens on multiple different amps too...leading me to believe it's the module.

Hi Richard, just thought I'd share my experience of the Strike Pro with you. Bought in November 17, module and hi-hat went back during December because there was a horrible crackling noise when used with headphones and the hi-hat was unplayable. New items returned. When playing with the band, the kit showed all sorts of weird false-triggers on the module, with the whole thing lighting up and flashing, when I wasn't playing it. This caused the individual drums to fail to trigger when I played them. It became totally unplayable. So it went back. Last Tuesday a brand new kit arrived and, guess what? It has exactly the same problem - unplayable unless I play it on my own. As soon as there is any sort of high volume form other band members, the thing mis-triggers. I've finally had enough and the whole kit is being sent back for a refund. In my opinion, the Strike/Pro is a great kit, made very badly and without the necessary development to make it a decent instrument. Such a shame because some of the kit sounds are amazing, it looks great but unfortunately, (in my experience) if you want to play it 'live', it's a worthless piece of junk.

Richard Neath Thanks for the assessment! I haven’t tried it with my band yet - I hope it doesn’t have the same issue! I primarily bought it for low volume practice anyway, but even that has been a struggle. The hi hats are the worst.

I just bought his Alesis from Guitar Center and the output volume is too low. If I insert the plug on the headphone’s output it works. Now I see that a lot of people has the same issue.

Thought you may be interested in a quick update on my situation. Just spoken to Alesis UK and they said that they needed the whole kit back before they would replace the module. I said that if that was the case, I'd send it back for a refund and buy a second hand Roland. (I live 300 miles from the dealer on the Isle of Skye so 'dropping it into the shop' wasn't an easy option.) Eventually he apologised and explained that they had booked it in incorrectly and that they would be sending out the new module and hi hat, via the dealer and then on to me. I asked if they could just send it direct as I really wanted to play it while I have some spare time over Christmas. Their answer? It's easier for them to send it this way as doing anything else messes up their system. I told them that I didn't care whether it was easier for them, I just wanted my kit to be playable and eventually they agreed to send it direct as long as they had an email confirming my address from the dealer. May get here between Christmas and New Year, either way, 6 weeks after I actually bought it - and, there's no guarantee that this new one will work. Have to just hope I suppose. Utterly disappointing that it A) didn't work correctly in the first place and B) that I had to argue with them for 35 minutes just to get them to send the new items rather than a whole kit direct to me. Merry Christmas!

For the people commenting on you hitting the wrong side of the cymbal.... Not very bright. If they watched your video again they might pick up the fact that you are hitting over the logo because that is the only way to get the cymbals to trigger (louder & more consistent). I bought a Strike Pro on Cyber Monday and immediately noticed that the volume output was way too low. I adjusted trigger settings and went into the voice menu to make sure volume levels were turned up to no avail. I hooked up some KRK powered studio monitors and am having the same issue. Just not enough output. I am not experiencing any feedback or hum, just low output. My cymbals are not triggering properly when I strike opposite of the Alesis logo. They seem to trigger most of the time but are not very loud. When I hit directly over the logo there is a significant improvement even though this is the wrong side of the cymbal. The choke sensors are only on the side opposite the logo. I also noticed the edge is not triggering very well and I have to hit the cymbal harder than I think I should (sensitivity is set to 99). The edge also does not "wash" or "swell" but its like a switch, either on or off with an all out crash and not much in between. I contacted Alesis about the module but I think all of the cymbals need to be replaced as well. It seems as though they were assembled 180 degrees off. When I saw your video I knew that my kit had the same kind of issues. I hope this helps others identify problems and I hope Alesis gets a handle on QC.

peter pan I definitely had similar issues. Hopefully this will help some other people too! Thanks for the input. I’m still waiting on my module from Alesis, but I’ll make an update video once it arrives.

ALESIS having the GREATEST support on earth, does not make up for what seems is substandard quality. Now I do not have an ALESIS module BUT I was the VP of a PC company putting out 200 PCs a day and if two clients complained about the same problem it most likely lies in the component and not the assembly. I have read at least 7 of these incidents and people are happy because they get a module (or any part) back in 5 days.. that is inconceivable that any client will be happy with a 5 day wait. So, ALESIS is beta testing their product with YOUR money ... PEECHY! I'd love for anyone to open up the box and take phew pics to see what kindda job they are doing with components. If anyone is familiar with electronics , are they using surface mount or Through the hole? ... that whine is typical of : A bad board design (the traces have sharp corners) poor soldering , or cheap components. has anyone heard a buzz or howl on an audio component near by? If you do , then the main board has radio-frequency leakage. Look under the module you should find several label that the product has passed FCC regulation AT least , but to be compliant worldwide you should find labels for UL, CE, EMC, FCC and CSA. IF the box is "leaking" THAT is one serious FCC fine . Spend a lil time on your unit , it may help a lot of people.

I had the same whining noise on my module started to happen when I turned the dimmer on the back Alesis sent me an other module it had other issues trying to adjust cymbal setting you could not move one setting without the other moving .the latency on how the kit loads and the effects, you can not play in a live setting with this {yell to the band leader hey can you wait 38 seconds for my kit to load} I ended up buying a used Roland TD 30 Module and it works great with the kit ,I'm still keeping warranty on the kit cause I don't trust the quality of the pads .lot of money to buy a piece of crap like this ,good luck!!!

Alan Vaughan damn! I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience. The drums themselves are great, and my module was OK besides the whining noise.... hoping the new one doesn’t have issues. I’ll make an update once it arrives!

I bought a Strike Pro to replace my Mapex Armoury kit and to give me a bit more creativity - just fancied a change really. Right from the off, it had a static crackle when used with the headphones which got worse after about 15 minutes of use and meant it was unplayable unless I put it through the speakers. Checked all the leads, tried 2 different headphones -no good. The hi-hat was utterly dreadful (mis-triggered constantly and basically didn't behave at all as a hi-hat should). I contacted Alesis and then the supplier and the upshot is that I've been without my kit for about 4 weeks. Alesis have the module and hi-hats and apparently, 'it's in the queue to be fixed'. What really annoys me is that I emailed Alesis in the UK, explained that the items were on their way back vis the supplier and asked if they could please turn the issue around quickly. I just wanted someone - anyone - to acknowledge the issue. I've now emailed a further 3 times and have yet to receive even the courtesy of a reply of any sort. It's a shame as the kit sounds great (until the static crackle starts and ignoring the dreadful hi-hat). Very disappointed. As a side issue - does anyone know if the Roland VH11 hi-hat would work OK with the Strike Pro? Cheers.

Man I'm sad to hear other people having similar issues. The kit DOES sound and feel good when it's working, but it definitely seems like there are some QC issues... this is my first Alesis product, so I'm trying not to judge too harshly
@Skyedrummer1457 жыл бұрын
I know exactly what you mean - I desperately want to love the kit, but at the moment I can't help feeling that I've been conned into buying something that wasn't quite ready for sale and that needed another few months of development. When I think of the way that Alesis have simply ignored my emails, it makes me want to package the whole thing up, send it back and get a second hand Roland. I just hope that it works when I get it back - I'll let you know!

Did you get a new module yet? If so, how is the output? I assume the module will have no impact on the trigger issue with your cymbals. Is this the case? Also, for my kids, every single cymbal including the high hats, has the trigger issue I described. Were all of your cymbals behaving this way or just some of them? Alesis is supposed to send me all new cymbals and I sent back my module with a RMA.
@RichardNashIV7 жыл бұрын
peter pan No new module yet. It’s been over a month since I sent it in, so I’m hoping the delay is due to the holidays. :(
@AtTheSourceStudios7 жыл бұрын
All your cymbals are backwards bro lol the logo should be on the outside facing you and you need to tighten the stopper underneath so they don't rotate. They're not triggering because there's technically no triggers on that whole half of the cymbal. Try it.

SiREN2173 thanks for the tip! I totally missed this when I set it up. Alesis still thinks something is wrong with the module, so I’m waiting on a new one :)

Hey Richard, not sure if there is a way to send you a private message but I wanted to let you know I spoke with someone named Emily from inmusicbrands and she set me up with a new module (and they are sending all new cymbals and high hats- already shipped). I told her that I was worried about it taking a month because the email I received with the RMA and shipping label said turnaround time was 2-4 weeks not including shipping. I also mentioned that I was messaging someone on youtube that has been waiting for a month. She asked who and I told her Richard Nash. She said she is having a new module shipped out for you and it should go out tomorrow or Wednesday morning at the latest. I thought you might want to know. Cheers.

cdupright I had this issue too. I had to RMA my module. The second one still isn’t as loud as I think it should be, but it is better. If you’re still in warranty you may want to RMA!
