You are correct of course. But the thing is just to be aware that you can play "over your head" on the electronics. You can still practice effectively once you learn how to compensate when going back and forth to acoustics. BTW I gig on a Roland TD 15----Jazz and rock situations. Why? It allows me to play "flat out" at ANY volume in ANY size room. The guys I play with (even the jazz guys!) love them. And I don't have to constantly "hold back", muffle everything, use those rod things and all the rest of it even in tiny restaurant gigs. Really worked out for me. Thanks for the channel bro.

True!!! The thing is, I think that some people are only playing on electric and if they ever sit on an acoustic….. they’re in for a shock.

I’m certain I’m not as good on the acoustic set vs the electric set I play in church (I don’t own a set yet, hopefully soon). I hope to get that experience soon that I can be efficient on both acoustic and electric

I hear ya. Practice is practice though. It all transfers to either.

Thinking i'll be a Number 3 almost... I'm playing in the Rehearsal Room of Our Band an '79 Tama SwingStar with a few Upgrades.. Evans Heads, Sabian and Paiste Cymbals and so on... I'm searching for something to Practice a bit at Home without disturbing neither my Family or Neighbours... By the Way it took me an hour by Car to get to our rehearsal room... So, for that... I Love your Reviews and the Channel, it just helps me to figure out what's the best Electric Option for me. .. Thnx Keithron, and right Here right now it's about to go Down....😅🥁🥁🥁

There is a 4th type, the "Guy" who was at one time was Drummer Type 1, 2 and or 3 but has not played for 20, 30 or 40 years. This type trying to go back into drumming will learn todays Ekits are not the same that most of us avoided back in the early 80's when e-drums really first came out. Not many of us, but we are a group. :-)

Your videos are dope,very informative, thinking about a sd 1250 kit for a beginner set ,what do yaa think 🤔, older dude who really wants to learn to play, my music moves me,would be sweet to be able to play it too,keep up the good work 👍

Thanks… I love the 1250. If money is no option I’d say grab it. Also though the Simmons Titan 50 is smaller and easier to use. Especially for beginning.

I like to use an electronic kit with real cymbals and a real snare, Alesis crimson with a Ludwig acrolite, and vintage Zildjian cymbals
@KeithronPowell2 жыл бұрын
If performing live it’s way better to use live cymbals. I’m always a fan of the live snare but it depends on the situation. For example in my studio I’m all electric. There is not need for anything acoustic because I wanna be able to make changes in the DAW I have way more flexibility that way.

@@KeithronPowell oh okay, I don't do any studio work, I'm all live

i use my pillows for even my bass drum pedal practice
@KeithronPowellАй бұрын
That’s a good way to practice. Dennis Chambers talks about how he didn’t have a set yet and practiced on pillows. The lack of bounce forces you to play what you’re playing instead of relying on rebound…. Keep doing that!

As a drummer bla bla bla this brand v that brand . As the audience, it's job done when you can't pick the difference between whos playing a Acoustic or Electric and at yhe end of the day the audience is what matters . .
