If people are gonna complain about pesticides in their food, they've got to accept that they'll find the occasional bug in their groceries. Personally, I'd rather have the bugs than the pesticides, but that's the tradeoff you gotta make

Usually I'm fine with like, tiny bugs or whatever, but one time I opened a jar of pickles and there was a full-sized adult japanese beetle in the top (like 1/2inch+). Realistically, it's pickles, I figure no contaminant's likely to live in something that acidic+salty + in a sealed jar, but it still sussed me out a bit too much to eat them.

Whole Foods started as a local Texas grocer like H-E-B, focused on vegetarian meals. After Bezos got his hooks in it it went downhill rapidly. They've always had a little higher prices but Bezos cranked the Mr. Krabs dial to 11.

Whole Foods was always expensive, way before 2017.

@@ASMR_Junkie their bulk bins are kind of goated though and they have some stuff that's hard to find at local grocers they're definitely worse than they used to be though

@@etherealnoire Isn't "gotten worse than they used to be" pretty much true of any store/brand?

i heard a bug 3 segmented and smaller than a thumb is safe to eat. any larger and you risk parasites, but why 3 segmented? i dunno...
