Faux Ceramic Technique with Polymer Clay | Earring Making | Beginner Project

Hello! Todays tutorial is making a faux ceramic effect with polymer clay.
I take you through step by step how I created these beautiful pieces.
You'll need - white polymer clay (I like to use Sculpey Premo)
- a texture mat (or something to create an pattern on the clay)
-alcohol ink
-liquid sculpey
You'll also need your standard polymer clay tools such as roller, knife, tile etc.

Hi! Welcome to your new hobby! It's lots of fun! A couple of tips for your issues would be- to make sure your pieces aren't too thin. I like to make mine around 3mm. Press them down onto the baking tray/baking paper before curing to help them stay flat. For sanding I use a soft buffing attachment on my drill to run around the edges to smooth them off. I'll be doing another FAQ tutorial soon which will cover these topics a bit better :) hope it helps! Good luck and have fun creating!

Yes! I drill after baking. I find the hole is neater. :)

Great tutorial! Do you think Sculpey oven bake adhesive would work on this project?

I think it would! I might have to have a play and see if it is much different. I have also tried it with gloss glaze and alcohol ink- but the liquid clay definitely worked better than that.

I put the holes in after curing. I use a Dremel Hand drill.

Can i use regular liquid sculpey? That come in colors? I have a ton
