Faux livestream: Can you fix overblended wool in the ply?

You probably know my answer to this question, but in today's livestream I also provide you with a few points of inspiration if you find yourself in a similar situation. In the last stream, I talked about spinning an overblended batt, just to see if you like the result. In this video, I talk about what I did to improve--in fact, revitalize--my handspun yarn.
I think everything we make has the potential to be fabulous, and sometimes a mistake like overblending ('making mud') may not be as bad as we think. Whether you're a wheel spinner or spindle spinner, these tips and tricks apply!

I prefer blue and white as Christmas colors, but red and green speak to that percentage of me that is of Welsh heritage just about any time of year :)

Hello Jennifer Your plied yarn is lovely with the colours and sparkle. It is amazing how putting two different singles together often produce exciting and unexpected results. Hi. Thank you for following through with this bat process. I have a beautiful bat of mixed black, gold, oranges and hits of white silk that I have been stalled on. Watching you here, I grabbed Sarah Anderson's Yarn design book to name the technique you are using. There are way too many examples of that wrap around look. to pin it down. It seems to be accomplished done a myriad of techniques. It's good to know I can just spin a dk to worsted weight single from the bat and ply it with a very thin spun (black) perhaps. I want to avoid muddying the bat so I can let those colors sing. You have been an inspiration to get me rolling on this spin. Much appreciated. I'm looking forward to the project segment when you get to it.

Awesome. I had to leave all my spinning books in Korea in 2015 but the knowledge is still swimming in my head. I'm weaving with it now so the project video will come out...soonish 😂 I started 2023 with almost 4 weeks of covid so everything is up in the air right now.
