Aquaphor Original ointment is amazing. I've been using it for years on my face, lips, cuticles, wherever. I even use it all around my eyes as a sort of hydration mask to prevent eye wrinkles. I swear by it.

I may not be part of the "mature women" crowd here, I'm 22. But I love watching the mature women of KZbin. You girls all look great. And I want to make sure I age gracefully and always radiate femininity and stay healthy too. I already apply sunscreen daily, wash my face every night and day, use natural rose hip and vitamin e oil on my skin and I also use Retin A. I exercise daily and eat very healthy. I hope I look that good in my 50s!!

Aquaphor is a great product and comes in so many sizes. I even have a tub of it. When I get extra dry patches on my legs, etc in winter I put it on. I use it to rub into cuticles or even my whole hand if they are extra dry. My dermatologist recommended it for wound care when I had skin cancer removed. Rub it into your feet and they will be so soft! I am nit usually a big fan of Chapstick, but I do like it when outdoor temps are extremely cold. I find it gives best protection from clapping, etc. Otherwise I really enjoy Nivea balms. There is a cherry tinted one that is my current favorite.

I just emailed you today asking for a video on SPF lip balms! Then I found this tonight. I love it. I would love if you would do an updated one... it seems like there are more products in this genre out there today. Maybe you could include brands like LaRoche Posay or does CeraVe have something? And... have you ever come across an ingredient list in English for Laneige lip balm? Thanks!

Another great reviews video, thanks, Angie! Another possible one for people: I've used Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Moisturizer, SPF 15, for about 30 years now, and LOVE it. I started using it when I was an international flight attendant for about 13 years - and we know how desert-dry airplanes are. That was the only lip balm that would keep them from getting chapped. I still use it, even overnight, and love it. Hope that helps someone who maybe hasn't found their perfect lip balm yet.

Hi Angie! I just recently subscribed to your site because I've been enjoying your videos for a while now. I love the fact that you give your honest opinion and that your site is for mature women. I'm 10 years older than you and wish I'd started with a good skin care routine at least 30 years ago and maybe I wouldn't have the problems I have now, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, etc. Anyway, because of your videos, I've started taking better care of my skin with some of the products you've recommended and I've also seen a Dermatologist about getting fillers and botox. I had my annual physical yesterday and while there I ask my primary physician for a prescription for 0.025% of Retin A which he gave me. I got it filled and started it last night! So it looks like I'm on my way to finally taking care of my skin thanks in large part to you!! I appreciate your videos and have really learned a lot. Thank you and keep up the good work!!

Chapstick has really upped their game recently! I used to only like the Medicated Chapstick in the blue tube, but I picked up the two sided Chapstick with the moisture and renew and liked it so much I used the entire moisture side and I bought another one. My only problem with chapstick is I need one that can survive the summer heat in the car. So for now I switch to Carmex in the squeeze bottle in the summer. Thanks for saving me the 28 dollars for the Agave mask. The last thing I need is for something to make my lips even more flake-y!

Thanks for the reviews. My favorite night lip product is pure lanolin. I bought a tube of Lansinoh ("for nursing mothers) years and years ago, and it works great as a lip balm. You know it's safe if babies can eat it ... and it works well. It is very thick and goopy, but melts with body heat.

Thanks for sharing your reviews of all these lip balms. You can't go wrong with the Aquaphor ointment. I carry a small tube in my purse year round. My favorite night time lip balm is Ballmania Twist & Pout Lip Balm SPF 20 Lip Clip Key Chain. The balm moisturizers my lips & stays on all night. I also like the convince of the key chain to hook inside purse or makeup bag. Prior to Ballmania I tried Baby Bee Multipurpose Ointment which moisturized but didn't last the night. Since I already have Aquaphor at home, I'll have to compare it to my Ballmania. Hoping you'll do a tutorial on your eye look, which is fabulous :)

I love this video. Always anxious to hear about lip products. I've had the worst lips since taking Accutane as a teenager. I used to put plain newsprint on my lips (altering picking the skin flakes off till they bled) then I discovered I was allergic.......I'm currently using Sara Happ The Lip Slip and I enjoy it......so far. I'm anxious to get some Aquaphor now! I had the exact same feeling about the Bite......thought it was going to be the one.

I've used the original Aquaphor on my lips at night for years. As for daytime, I'm a Blistex fan; however, I've never liked their camphor/menthol product. Instead, I often use their DCT with SPF 20 (also found at the cash register in most drugstores)...basically the same base without the medicating ingredients. I apply this in the AM right before putting on face and eye makeup. By the time I'm done, I can blot most of it off and apply lipstick. When I'm on-the-go, I like Blistex Deep Renewal SPF 15 in winter and Blistex Five Star SPF 30 in summer months. Sounds complicated, but it works for me. Thanks for the review of Chapstick's current product offerings; I'm always willing to try something on recommendation from someone whose done her "homework". 😄

For Christmas my daughter sent me a tube of Aesop Rosehip Seed Lip Cream. At first I thought it a novelty bc of the creamy application. After trying all the rest I'm sticking with this combo. Thx for the recommendations!

Hello, thanks for this video. I am a bit of a lip balm junkie and over the years have tried loads! My current philosophy is that I am going to ingest so much lip balm over the years, that I try to keep it natural. Luckily, I've found that 'natural' ingredients work just as well or better. My favourite for years now is Alba Botanica lip balm. It's coconut oil, beeswax, jojoba... and it smells amazing. It not only feels nice on and moisturises while on, I also find that it means my lips don't dry out (hello menthol, I'm talking to you). Thanks again, just thought I would share.

Hi Angie. I'm loving your videos. I'm working on a skin care routine and now looking for sunscreens that work for me. Just watched your new one on mineral sunscreens (May 2019), but am wondering if you'll be updating the video on lip balms with spf? I'm also having trouble finding something that works on my eye lids - so far the ones I've tried burn my eyes or feel heavy, so looking for either something that work on my whole face or ones that are specific for my eyes (Elta MD is on order). Just a suggestion for future review. Thanks for all your hard work to review these products. It certainly is a jungle out there and you are helping us know where to start at least.

Have you ever tried Herpecin HL 30? I have been using it for years and recommending it to everyone, but I don't think people want to buy it because of the name. :) It does look kind of white when you first put it on, but it goes clear after a while. It's usually in the pharmacy part of most drug stores, not the beauty section.

I used Aquaphor in the past and it was outstanding, but I am now on the mineral oil free bandwagon. I have been using Nuxe Reve Miel lip balm for at least a dozen years. It is expensive, around $20, but one jar lasts around 6 months and is ultra hydrating. I use it at night and right after I shower. The jar makes it inconvenient to carry with me, so I use something else in my purse, lately the one from Bite Beauty that you felt exfoliated your lips. It doesn't work that way for me. Not sure why. Nuxe is available all over in France and Canada, but here most of the etailers like Skinstore, Skincarerx, and Dermstore sell it. If you're ordering from one of these, it's a nice way to pad your order if you aren't ordering enough to get free shipping.

Hi Angie, thanks so much for sharing your experiences with us. You explain things so well and completely and I really appreciate that. I rarely chime in but I wanted to offer my experience with Bite's Agave Mask. I have used it every night for the past 2 months and have never had a flaking problem like the one you described. I did find that it stayed on my lips all night so that they were hydrated in the morning but I've never experienced flaking. Perhaps yours was an allergic reaction? I took a quick look at the ingredients list over at the Sephora site and, I'm no chemist but, there are some fruit extracts in it and maybe they're too acidic for your skin? I believe you use some anti-aging heavy hitters on your face (I don't). Maybe one of those is conflicting with the ingredients and causing your reaction? Thoughts?

Angie, this is helpful, but you don't mention how lipstick wears when applied over these balms. In fact, I'd like to see you test I lip primers. Note, my issue is not upper lip feathering. Rather I need a product to keep my normal well-wearing lipsticks from settling into lower lip creases. My lower lip is dry and sometimes chapped although I live in Florida. But even my younger friends in the northeast have this lower lip issue.

Of course I recognized you. I think it was from the video you did on Retin A and your progress. I think they should have given you a shout out . Your site and videos are great.

My lips are chronically dry/peeling. Tried everything drugstore to pricey. Here's my result: regular Aquaphor was nice but wasn't cutting it. I find slippery petrolatum really does nothing for my lip issues. *Nuxe Reve de Miel* was good & I thought I loved it but wasn't the HG like it is for so many people. *Philosophy Kiss Me Tonight* is up there as a good one too but the HG for me is *BITE Agave Lip Mask*. Life changing & takes so little it lasts all year! Ends up as cheap as drugstore when all is said & done. I depot it & have it sitting all over the house:) I need it to work on that peeling skin, then I remove the skin, add *MAC Prep & Prime* & then lipstick. Then I have to repeat the cycle all over again:( Nightmare. Sometimes I use *Pure Lanolin/Lanisoh* nipple cream when I just want a slippery humectant surface but cannot stand petroleum based products anymore. HTH someone!

Angie, I have had dry lips for quite awhile, and I have discovered two "thinking outside the box" products that were not developed specifically for lips, but nevertheless work great: Bag Balm and also Lansinoh (which was recommended by Dominique Sachse on her KZbin Channel).

Great review especially about the chap sticks. I finally started my KZbin channel!! I'm 40 years old and hope to be welcomed by the mature women of KZbin!!😊

I have been using the Aquaphor since they recommended it when I was going through radiation. I also like Jack Black (the lemon mint), sold at Sephora. Didn't La Mer send you a sample? :-)

D Smith Nope, no La Mer sample...

Hi Angie :) I've recently subscribed your youtube and LOVE hearing it from you every week! First and foremost, I've switched my skincare to Cera Ve PM and AM (thanks to you) but I find Cera Ve AM is "occlusive", meaning they stay on the surface of my skin and are not too well observed. So I've switched it to Cera Ve PM with Aveeno Baby Sunscreen with SPF 55 every morning. I also got the Olay Regenerist Serum Micro Sculpting (fragrance free) from Walmart for 26.99 (CAD) I haven't got a chance to use it yet but I hope it works well on my skin type. I also have been taking phytoceramide for five weeks now however I also received my C02 laser three weeks ago so I am not sure whether I am seeing the results from taking the pills or laser yet. You also mentioned from one of your videos that you are drinking green tea once a day. I also have been drinking green tea for many years now but switched it to white tea a few months ago. White tea has more antioxidants and less caffeine compared to green tea. If you are interested it, you should check it out. www.teavana.com/the-teas/white-teas/p/silver-needle-white-tea - "They" say a cup a day keep wrinkles away :) I hope you will receive your first c02 laser soon and please keep me posted. :)

Julia Rose Goe Thanks for subbing, Julia! I'd hope you're seeing results from the laser treatment rather than the phytoceramides. How did you find the CO2? I've heard it hurts… are you going again or just doing one?
@juliarose416710 жыл бұрын
***** Hi again :) The CO2 procedure itself was a bit painful, even with the numbing gel and pain killer used beforehand. However, I normally receive CO2 laser annually or biennial and the current one was my 4th procedure. I did opt for the heaviest setting for my fair skin and looking forward to receive my 5th treatment next December! It works superbly warding off loose skin and tiny fine lines on my forehead. I will be turning 29 in a few months and I strongly believe that prevention is always better than cure. Please post a video about your first CO2 laser. :) Happy holidays!
