When knitting a shawl and trying to determine the needle size from a swatch, I understand that you base you it on the "drape" of the swatch, but what does that really mean. How do you know what the right "drape" is?. I have been knitting for a few years, but recognizing the "drape" is new to me. I hope I am making sense, lol.

Hey, I just discovered your KZbin channel yesterday (or was it the day before?) and absolutely binge watched your videos while knitting a sweater vest. I learned so many new things, especially on the technical side of knitting, because you make everything so easy to understand even though english is not my first language. Also, you have a great humour and such an open approach to including everyone. Today I found myself watching mainly the Fave 5 videos, but I wondered why there weren't any more of them for about a year now? I'd be really happy if they came back, but I guess there is a good reason for it that I just didn't find written anywhere. Thank you for your great work and have a nice weekend!

I primarily used Ravelry to look for and recommend patterns and they are having problems with accessibility of their site which makes me hesitant to continue to make those videos. I have been trying to figure out an alternative way to make those videos but haven't figured it out yet. I am so glad you like them tho!

Thanks so much, Barbara! I really appreciate you including me! It's true, the On Off shawl alternates Garter and Stockinete panels. The pattern includes some little easy details like slip-stitch spines that continue down into the final edges.

Hi Barbara, I loved your video presentation, as usual. I do have a question though. What is a garter tab cast on. I've not heard of this before. I would like to say that I loved all the shawls and could see myself making them all. Of course, I say this with most of your patterns you present and a lot of other patterns I see too. There is never going to be enough time in my lifetime to knit everything I want to knit. lol Anyway, thanks for another great video!

I learn so much from your descriptions. I like the asymmetrical shape shawl, but prefer the boomerang shape. I can not wrap my head around the difference enough to look at a pattern and realize if indeed it will be the boomerang shape. I would love to have you explain this someday if you are so inclined.

I will put that on my list. A boomerang is an asymmetrical triangle, but not all asymmetrical triangles are boomerangs. It has to do with the speed of increasing and weather or not it's worked on a bias.

Hey Barb, how are you? First, thank you for sharing! Second, are you from Wisconsin? Just wondering. I wanted to add here, on this video, my 16yr old granddaughter, Eve, she told me to tell you, her friends and her say their all time most comfy shawl is what they call their half blankets, really they say bankies. On real cold winter days they take them to school. She said, Nana really some of the girls really cut a blanket in half then folded it and sew it together. Oh, she was watching you, with me. I'm attempting a shawl but..anyway she wants you to name a shawl you make after her. Calling it Eve's Shawlter. I didn't ask. She asks if it could be a rectangle, not a triangle. Cooshee too. Ok thts it. I did what I said I would do. You are a super person. Wish we were neighbors. Oh, the laughs we could have!!! Keep em nimble..God Bless You
